This is one of my favorite jazz songs of all time. So haunting...so strange for a big band to be playing something like this...almost not dancable...but still great!

Live Nude Swearing if it’s danceable, they’re playing it wrong.

This is also my fav not only jazz but all time song. Haunting indeed. I became aware of this song from the intro to Saturday Night Dead based out of Philadelphia. This version could be the best one tracked! Longest I’ve heard to date. Still searching! Cheers from LA!

Woke this morning and this was playing! Have played it eight times since. Cris Crenshaw on trombone was fun, victor Goines on the clarinet is thrilling. Is that a Sidney Bechet thing ( shaking the clarinet)? Watching the expressions on Wynton Marsalis face during Chris Crenshaws is hilarious as always! Great start to my morning! Thank you.

Victor Goines on clarinet and Chris Crenshaw on trombone are incredible. What a classic song. Dumb question from a non musician, do the trumpet and trombone players actually use a toilet plunger for the mute or is that a special piece? It sure looks like what you’d get from the hardware store
