When Wynton Marsalis spoke about jazz and life during this time and period of his life, portrayed here in this video, he spoke with such passion and emotion that he makes me fall in love with jazz all over again. Im a trumpet player from South Africa and have been in love with jazz since i was a young boy age 9

Jazz my young friend like India, cannot be described, it must be experienced. It’s the same ‘wit ‘da Funk. I had a spiritual experience with the Sacred Funk running a lighting board at Tipitina’s in the 90’s Imagine that, something like spirit of Fess grabbed me & woah……… Sherman’s lighting controller became a musical instrument & I nailed every cue that night. Thanks again for the $20. tip at LAX in ‘81…..
