I do! I enjoy basically all of your reviews. 😀 You consistently keep doing great work reviewing games in the way that makes sense and is very helpful. Well done!
3:31 - To stave off any confusion, when you reach a brown space on the guild track, you can place a cube into any open spot on the card. You're not limited to VP at the bottom, or actions at the top.
Dragons guild gives me Taverns of Tiefenthal vibes for some reason. Thanks for the excellent overview. The thing I'm most excited about is less randomness with the removal of the resource dice from the game. That was my least favorite aspect of Wingspan.
Thank you for this review! I absolutely love Wingspan! I play it often, solo against 3 AIs in digital Steam implementation. I love the puzzle it offers. And it's perfect digital implementation with great bird sounds, music and animations. I hope they make this Wyrmspan into digital implementation as well in the same way. Cause I would love to try this game as well. I can't decide if I will like it as much as Wingspan until I played it for myself few times. Though I definitely prefer way more the realistic bird theme from Wingspan, like you, over this fantasy made-up theme of Wyrmspan. Even though I am not a "bird-guy" or even an "animal-guy". Wish they went with some other type of real world animals instead.
My problem with Wingspan wasn't the streamlining but the balance issues between some actions and birds. Plus, the dice and randomness of the card draw could make this very frustrating with no fault of your own. Then they reworked the player board in the Oceania expansion which was MUCH needed but introduced a wild ressource that didn't fix the dice problem and instead made managing the different ressources obsolete because now nectar was the ultimate ressource that was just plain better and more important than anything else. All of the gameplay changes in Wyrmspan sound like a definite improvement for me. Now I'll hold my enthusiasm back until I see it confirmed that this time they manage to balance the game properly but if they manage that, it will go straight into my collection.
I also only use the Oceania board as you could get more done. Also since any wild resource goes away at the end of the round so I felt like that helped balance that. But based on your feelings I do think you’ll probably like Wyrmspan better
@@TheGameBoyGeeks I'll give Wingspan another try with the expansion but since my gf loves dragons since childhood, I will probably end up with a copy of Wyrmspan in my shelf anyway. :D Thank you for the video!
There are five actions, not three. The explore is the single action that covers the three common to activating in wingspan, then there is the entice (same as play bird) and the new excavation action.
