I actually own an older model and would definitely consider converting. Price point pending obviously. But the fact that you're putting this out there is incredible!
I'm down. Ed, I really hope you follow through with this. This is by far the most relevant upgrade to the 2.0 lineup and is something right up my alley. Thank you sir!
absolutely fantastic! I definitely am interested. I'm not sure how viable it is either, but I'm willing to put the work in to experiment with you to get it right, even if it ends up costing me more. I look forward to hearing more about it! thank you thank you thank you (even if you decide you just don't have the time or energy, THANK YOU, because even looking into it means a lot to me)
So the shipping costs would be pretty high for this and it may be tough to justify. I think you should think about just selling kits for hobbyist woodworkers to do at home, or to bring to a local woodworker make the changes for them. That would be much easier logistically…
Something I'm definitely interested in. I really wanted a hobby vault, but I didn't know what I'd do with my old game deck. This is a great idea, and I'll gladly pay the shipping both ways to not have to figure out what to do with the game deck.
Depends on the eventual price, but that could be an awesome upgrade for the game deck in my table! Definitely interested in hearing more and hopefully the shipping logistics make the price in the reasonable range to do it.
Thank you Ed for stepping up to do this! I posed this exact question months ago, not sure if you ever saw it, or also had the same idea, but I would definitely be interested in the upgrade!
Thats really cool of you to do that. Unfortunante timing for me as i finalized my order with the new game deck. I was going to figure out what to do with my old one. Maybe ed you can show in a separate video. As I asked customer support but they always never answered it. Basicly in one of the table rails and the game deck, the metal bar either the glue dried up or didn't get glue. Its not a big deal for the table unless i change the size. The game deck is more of a danger as if tilt it to the side when taking it out the metal bar can slide out into some one or the table. I have some basic wood working skills and see how it was assembled. Basicly the info I'm looking for, whats the best way to glue it and what glue to use. its black walnut. I can link a video if you want to see it. If ed or anyone has any fun ideas what to do with two game decks let me know haha.
I’d be interested in the upgrade. It cost $50 when the sent the original that arrived with the black walnut looking like shit was smeared on it and Wyrmwood refused to replace it as it was deemed “acceptable”. They swapped it out but I had to pay the shipping. And the hardest part was getting a box that worked to ship it.
Ha, glad google recommended this video :) You responded in the WL comments a couple days ago. Good to hear you will be working on this! I am interested, I agree with shipping+price might not be worth it, but I think for certain woods, it will be. I can't afford a hobby deck in wenge... but I might pay a couple hundred to upgrade. Packing it to get there, will be challenge, the box you guys have is amazing. If you could see what it costs to send an empty box first, might be worth it for some and a label for the weight back to you, might be convenient.
That is an awesome idea. But could you film the whole thing and show how you made it? Being international backer of MGT 1 there is no chance for me to upgrade my game deck but i would give it a try or maybe build one from scratch.
Following here if you've got any idea on this - as an Aussie I'd also be interested if there's any feasible option for us international folk to attempt this ourselves!
I asked about this originally on the second Kickstarter since I bought game deck the first time and was told no. Totally turned me away from the Kickstarter since so much of the new features were around the hobby deck, and I had already paid like $80 for the original game deck. It’d be interesting to see if price for shipping and upgrading would be worth it. Ground shipping alone would be around $30-$40 for me in MN.
That’s another reason y I only wana work on like 5 at a time. Trust me I have no intention of ripping people off. Typically I’ll screw myself over b4 another person
I ordered a game deck, so I’d have 100% been all over this. Thank you so much for the option. But since I’m in Canada 🇨🇦 🤬 I still haven’t received anything at all - so I was able to cancel it and order a hobby deck. I’m sure it’ll all be lovely…. sigh… someday. What ever happened with player deck storage ideas? Can I order something to store player desks from you?
@CRAZY-ED don't get me wrong if you need volunteers I'd definitely offer my old one for upgrade. I have 2 tables if you convert and old one do I get to keep my card slot? Because losing the card slot on the new one was a sad point.
