Chris, I have a question...we have spectrum and we are suppose to be getting 400mbps, when I'm downloading hard wired to their router I am only getting 10 to 11 MB/s. Clearly not getting the speeds. Question is, what router can I get for ethenert connectivity for gaming that won't break the bank of $200? Can you please help me out fam also love your vids man.
The warning sign could be a good deterrent for tech thieves in the know. They see you have a Wyze security system and don’t bother breaking in because they know you’re cheap and may not have good stuff.
I got around the internet issue by subscribing to unWired, a wireless ISP. Also using a UPS for backup power. That does drive the monthly cost up a little bit.
I was away from my house. This morning, my phone app quit working so that I couldn't disarm the alarm away from my house. When I went home and tried to disarm via keypad but unfortunately I entered the wrong pin#, and it triggered a false alarm today, I didn't receive any notifications on my phone nor a phone call to verify the safe word. The alarm went off for over 3 minutes, then it stopped. I didn't see any policeman shows up at the house. All my devices still were offline at this point, and I couldn't get them back on with my internet router re-set. It kept saying to make sure my blue tooth is turned on on my phone to get it reconnected, it was on the whole time. I really don't have any confidence in Wyze operations. When I need to call someone to cancel the alarm, I couldn't locate a phone number to call. I ended up deleting the sensor hub from my phone app and thought maybe it would cancel the alarm. I really likes to return the products but I can't because it is beyond 30 days. When I googled for their Home Monitoring Call center number, all I found was their head office in Seattle, and they gave you two options: one is to place an order; another is technical support for product set-up. Speaking of Capitalism, all businesses today are trying to sell...sell... sell. Then sell some more, but they don't care about customer service
Myself coming from ST/ADT as well, iris before that.. I'm struggling to find a good replacement. My biggest issue with wyze HM is the lack of fire/c02 alarms. You can integrate noonlight into hubitat ($10 month) thru a virtual switch, however still no fire response. Also the no cellular is a issue.
Great video! Do you know if their older motion sensor and door sensors are supported with the security system, of if you have to use only the new ones?
Great video as always! Can u use two systems together One upstairs and one in basement and garage areas? For the money its worth having two to cover my entire home. 2800 square feet
What if i do want the system but Not the monitoring. Not all can or want to pay.. i like the whole system but will it work with needing to call but just phone app notifications???
the catch is that Wyze home monitoring doesn't have it's own 3G communication. It relies on your WIFI. The burglar just need to cut your power or cut your wifi and boom your system is useless.

Chris is completely upfront about the fact that the company contacted him and gave him the product to try out, but his review is still objective and points out a bunch of negatives. That's not an ad; it's a review.
@@DGaryGrady If I'm subscribed to his channel and this is force-fed to me, it still steals my attention, at least until I figure out the item discussed is utter crap... Again, one more ding and I'm out. I pay for YT without ads for a reason.
I'm going to assume you didn't watch the whole video. I mentioned a ton of negatives points about the product. I'm always honest. If this video was sponsored I would tell you at the beginning of the video.
@@Fatman305Hey, I pay for RU-vid Premium as well, and with respect, you seem unclear on a couple of important points: First, this is not a sponsored video; it's an objective and well-reasoned review, one that apparently convinced both of us that the product isn't for us. But calling it utter crap is a bit silly. For example, if I had wireless Internet the lack of cellular backup wouldn't be a problem and that would remove one of the negatives (not all of them, but an important one). Yes, the company sent Chris a product sample to review, as he made crystal clear at the start of the video, and that's exactly how reviews generally work. Do you really expect Chris (or anybody not backed by a foundation) to spend thousands of dollars a week buying all the equipment he talks about? Finally, though it's beside the point in this case, paying for RU-vid Premium saves you and me from having to sit through RU-vid ads. It doesn't mean no sponsors for videos. Given how little most RU-vidrs made from RU-vid, I don't begrudge them getting sponsorships or seeking Patreon support.
