We’ve only had the cameras up and running for a short time. ru-vid.comUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe So far we love them! I got the outdoor mounting kit for them and they were easy to install. Once you download the app, it walks you through the very easy set up. The clarity, and range is awesome. I am thinking seriously about adding another camera or two to my 3 camera system. The price is lower than a lot of comparable systems.

I have a contact sensor on my toliet seat, and a camera pointing near the door(not inside bathroom thats weird and creepy) entrance, so when someone who shall not be named, left it up when they cleaned it or something, and blamed me, I had video footage proving it wasn’t me and the look I got for this made it so worth it. I doubt I will ever be blamed for this again...

GIVEAWAY! How would you use Wyze Sense in your home? Comment below with your idea and I’ll pick my favorite to win a Wyze Sense. Good luck! EDIT: We have 2 winners! Thank you all for commenting your awesome ideas for Wyze Sense! We selected two winners: David Hauge and Tom Willis (message us on Facebook within 24 hours, David and Tom!). David's idea was to use Wyze Sense on a drawer of baby diapers to keep an inventory using IFTTT. Tom thought of using the sensors on a bathroom door, and when it's occupied you could turn on a smart light. Very cool. Thanks again, everyone!

Smart Home Solver I would love to get one of those starter kits!!! The options are and less I can put one on my bedroom door to remember if I closed it or not and I could put them on my cookie jar in my room to see if my brother took any lol and I might be able to rake one up to a mouse trap so I know when it goes off because sometimes it’ll go off when I’m not home and I won’t figure it out for like a week because I don’t check them every day and it starts to make my room stink so it would be really cool to rig it up to a mouse trap!!

I love the idea of a sensor on the fridge door! Once on a while, the fridge tends to stay partially open if slammed shut (bounces slightly and doesn't close). Another good idea would be to have the motion sensor on the yard gates as long as it's out of the elements! With a dog, sometimes the kids leave the gate open, therefore adding a sensor with a quick notification would lead to less hi ting for the dog in the neighbourhood! I can't wait to set up these sensors, but definitely should order more! Loving the Wyze stuff these days!

Phoenix Hot Weather Tip: Because the hot Phoenix weather and metal garage doors are troublesome for the adhesive on the contact sensors - mount the sensors on the garage door opener's "TROLLY." The trolly has a flat metal surface, and it doesn't get as heated as the garage door. (The opener trolly is the small device that always moves with the chain or belt when the door is opened or closed. It is also the disengaging device for manually opening the garage door.) When combined with a Wyze camera mounted in the garage, a user is notified of garage door opening/closing and video records the event.

I am beginning to automate my home. This is especially important because of medical issues. These sensors can be used on my mailbox because I live in a rural area and it is about 40 to 50 yards away. That would prevent unnecessary trips. The motion sensor can be used as a driveway alert and the second contact sensor used on the door leading to the basement stairs.

For my new home I purchased a few v2 and a couple of pan cameras, which came with bulbs from promos, and I'm loving them! I was a bit skeptical with the sensors so I checked your review out and I'm leaning towards them now. I purposefully wanted to use them for home monitoring, but when you configured yours for your bed I was amazed. I wanted to use mine to automate lights in the room or hallway when it's triggered. I will probably do just that if I get my hands on an extra sensor when budget allows. 😅 Thanks for your reviews on these products!

Just watched your video for the very first time. If I had one, I would install a sensor on the garage door to notify me when it open/closed or to verify that I closed after driving away from home. Another idea, it would be in my backyard so that it would turn the lights on if an animal or person walked to my backyard. Finally I would install one on my storage shed. I only keep yardwork tools but they are valuable to me. Good luck to everyone and thank you for making this videos.

If there wasn't such a long lag between sensing and alert, I'd use to tell me when the car has moved into correct position in the garage. For now, I just use a magnetic switch connected to a light. I do use a couple of Wyzecams on my trailer when camping. The sensors would be good for a couple storage compartments and motion detector for area not covered by the camera.
@ideaxtruder
@ideaxtruder 5 лет назад
I placed one in my doorbell chime. The electromagnet in the doorbell chime triggers the magnetic reed switch in the sensor making a cheap limited feature smart doorbell. I then used that event to trigger the front door camera to record. I took my second one and opened it up and removed the magnetic reed switch and replaced it with 2 wires. I then placed it under my kitchen sink and taped the wires to the bottom. If the sink leaks the water completes the circuit and notifies me of a leak.

Alternatively, you could place it my a letterbox to get notified when post falls through. A contact sensor could be used to notify when a car door is opened to stop a robberies

For the snack cabinet sensor, I'd put it on the inside for aesthetics; although, you probably put it on the outside for the purpose of this video. With the contact sensor in an office or more formal area, I'd put it on a bathroom door - if the door is open, then the bathroom is available. If closed, do a second check with the motion sensor to check the last movement sensed. Bonus: use IFTTT to turn on or off a light bulb or sign in the common area where people are sitting to let them know at a quick glance if a bathroom is available.

One of these is going on the garage door for an open/close warning at night. I think another will go on the basement door. If the kids leave that open the cats get in there and make a mess. I'm thinking this could also be used for a simple basement sump alarm. Magnet on the float, sensor at the top of the sump. When it's closed the pump isn't working and the basement is going to flood. For the motion sensor I might couple one with a Pan cam that watches the yard so that it can turn and look behind it if something moves where it isn't looking.

My home is very automated. I have a smart things hub. I have a konnected security system that works with the smart things hub. All five exterior doors have hardwired sensors that go to the security system. The windows have hardwired sensors. We have nest thermostats and nest smoke detectors. When my wife and I leave our house the security system is automatically armed. When we get within a two block radius the alarm system is disarmed. We have a light in the garage that shines when the alarm is armed so that if we arrive and for some reason the alarm system did not get disarmed, And we can see that the alarm is still set. But in my bathrooms I use this: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0076KNP4K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It is an occupancy switch. When I enter the bathroom the lights turn on and when I exit the lights turn off. And I use vacancy switches in the kitchen. If there is no movement in the kitchen for five minutes then the lights turn off. And in the kitchen over the sink I use an occupancy switch. When we walk in the kitchen at night the light over the sink turns on and when we leave it turns off. The hardwired switches for occupancy and vacancy just work and work instantly. I think they would serve you better in the bathroom with the light switch that is difficult to access. And I might use one that has a dimmer instead of just a simple switch. When I walk in the bathroom in the middle of the night I can press the dimmer down and have a more subdued light. Good luck.

Having sensors like this will help with whole home automation. Due to the distance to mailbox, a “door” sensor would be great and be able to link to the outside camera to make sure no thievery is taking place. Motion sensors would be great to make sure dogs going in/out the dog door are not strangers! That would be interesting with the colder season. Either way, these sensors look to hit the mark on making outstanding ways to increase quality of life. - side note: would be nice if Wyze makes other home sensors like the competitors. Such as a water sensor, A fire/co2 sensor, glass break detection sensor.

I wrote some filter code I could use with a wyze sense motion or contact sensor to turn on my lights only at night. (it would use two conditions, which is why the code is needed. ) The code calculates sunrise and sunset based on location coordinates and its accurate as the weather sunrise and sunset "predictions".

Hey, brother; great video. Unrelated question... where did you get those two lamps, in the background, for your colored LED bulbs? In particular, the short upward-facing one. Thanks in advance.

My flatmates leave the door unlocked most of the time. I'd use the sensor and a camera to take pictures of the door as it opens because there's a very real security risk given how often it's left open. The door sensor and motion sensor would both be invaluable in such a set up.

Good night I live in Brazil, your videos are very good, I bought the wyze sense, can you tell if when the battery of the contact sensor gets low it flashes quickly three times, because I can't make the connection, I think I will have to buy a new battery, does this light appear on your contact sensor? thank you very much and congratulations.

Very cool! I think I would try to use the contact sensors to detect when the garage door is open. And possibly use the motion sensor to detect when the cat is in the garage and a 2nd sensor to open the garage door slightly so the cat can get outside. Then the motion sensor to detect when the cat is back in the garage to close the garage door. That way it's not open all the time... Hmmm...

Great video! I agree with the motion sensor looking like another camera and creeping people out but laughed at the part where you were recording who was in the snack cupboard. I am about to add some smart landscape lighting to my back yard. It would be great to have a sensor on the door leading out to turn on the lights in the main area and then a motion detector that lights up the one section that won't be used as much as the main section.

My problem with Wyze Cams and Wysense is that sometimes notifications are delayed. It is not often, but I have seen delays as long as 14 minutes. Does not seem to matter if the phone is on WIFI or cellular data. I have seen this reported problem with other users on the WYZE board. Sure wish there was a solution as they are neat products.
