x̌ʷəlč (Salish Sea) Lushootseed pronunciation 

x̌ʷəlč is the Lushootseed word for Salish Sea. Our main conference rooms at OPCD has been renamed in Lushootseed as a way to increase Indigenous representation and decolonize our spaces. We are intentionally relying on audio pronunciation in order to fully immerse ourselves in learning Lushootseed. The names were carefully selected by Lushootseed language keepers to highlight cultural values that align with the work we do at OPCD.
