You know, as players we complain pretty often about the enemy having "unfair advantages" but honestly I think that's mostly early-game frustration. This is OP as hell and it's amazing to see.
You need to get the awc built early. The benefits it providee long term is stuoidly amazing for its relatively expensive cost early on *serial. That skill that let the ranger pull off that stupidly awesome killstreak is usually a late game sharpshooter skill
It is a ranger. Superior laser sight, talon rounds, plus flanks and shotguns base chance means ranger crits this late in the game are more common than not.
Flank +50% crit Talon Rounds +20% crit t3 Shotgun +20% crit superior laser sign +25/15% crit I also have a serial ranger. gave them a WAR suit and talon rounds and in the last mission she singlehandedly killed 5 mutons (easy) then unleased a shredder cannon against 3 berserkers and 3 faceless and only left one standing. had I wanted to risk it I would have continued the serial run instead.
My ranger's name is Tommy Startruck he is a rockstar who fights the advent because when the aliens took over they blamed him for doing Xenoface and pretending to be an Alien and got his carreer ruined, he was the man who snuck into blacksite and blew a hole in the wall to escape,he was the man who faced King Viper and didn't die, he was the man who escaped alive from numerous confrontations, he was the man who uses his blade to kill Mutons and Sectoids and even resists sectoid mind comtrol before i uograded him. His sister Karen is whiny bitch who panicks and misses shots,i forever regret sending a bunch level 1 classes against the mutoid and sectoids because half of them are now dead, and Karen kept missing her shots... friggin Karen "uuugh don't worry ill get em next time!" And then suddenly " oh my God ptsd attack aaaaahhh" and misses shots all the time, heck i mean ive had times when id miss shots right in front of their faces but wow Karen im pretty sure you missed nearly EVERY shot that time
I have a specialist, his name is Jules. Jules Von Coah. He had a knack for engineering. So naturally he fitted right in as an engineer during the first invasion. But other than that, he was a black sheep in his unit, he never really got along with anybody with 2 notable exceptions. The brothers Cpt. Burke Samson and Sgt. Carter Samson. Jules got along with the Samsons like close family. Carter was his mentor, he showed Jules around the base he was stationed at, and Burke would always make him laugh. Together, the three were inseparable. But then there was one mission. One mission that would stay with Jules for the rest of his life. They were tasked with sabotaging a relay site from the aliens. As soon as they got near it, it was an ambush. They were pinned down, Carter stayed with Jules while Burke tried to set up and flank. But then Carter was hit with mind control and turned his rifle to Jules’ head. Jules looked on with fear, then to shock as a loud *BANG* rang out over the battlefield. Jules watched as his mentor, the man he looked up to fell to the ground, with Burke standing there, frozen. Rifle held out. Tears running down his cheeks. Through it all, the mission was still successful, but not without a heavy loss. To this day, Burke and Jules still continue to fight. One broken warrior to another. Sgt. Carter Samson: KIA
