Angry, jealous Scully is fun to watch. But i think this time around, Gillian shows that twinge of hurt. And here we have Mulder’s usual self-centeredness X 10, David plays it with a bit of guilt.

I love this episode! I love Gillian's performance and how she makes Scully's suffering so tangible !! and my favorite dialogue is the car fight !! This episode is a gem!

I just realized that the perfume line is supposed to imply that the pediatrician is the one wearing the perfume, because he was wearing a women’s robe and lipstick when the mob came to his house earlier in the episode. Yikes. That didn’t age well. Also these videos are awesome, especially since I just started watching old episodes on Hulu again because I’ve only seen bits and pieces of the show before now. Thank you!

I never knew I would find a channel like this in youtube after growing up with this show! Your explanation are hilarious! Apparently there was a lot tension (sexual/idk) between Gillian and David during the seasons, may be some of it spilled into the acting and the writing which lead to such gems!

I'm not sure Candice understands the subtle, underlying context in what made the "favourite perfume" scene a hilarious joke in with Mulder as the butt of it, and showing how everyone is acting so weird. Blondie detective wasn't wearing his favourite perfume. The doctor whose bag Mr. Tippy's bones were found in was wearing Mulder's favourite perfume while he was engaging in his fetish of wearing women's sexy things when they came to take him in for questioning. The doctor in drag was definitely the one wearing Mulder's favourite perfume. It was a very subtle joke.

I love the way Scully is so worked up while he just sniffs around her head and she demands: "what are you doing" in the sharp, terse voice. Pure gold! As much as Scully's jealousy is hard to watch (poor woman can't get no satisfaction) watching her smoke that cancer stick is painful. I know it's the vibe of her pain, and the off-kilter of the episode but seeing that beautiful woman light that nasty thing was hurtful. How many times has Scully told him to "shut up" yet it's still love.....miss these two

Maybe it's just me, but I thought the whole angry/jealous Scully thing in this episode wasn't necessarily the writers or Chris Carter wanting Scully to look bad, but rather, just Scully being affected by the same "cosmic vortex" phenomenon the two girls were causing that was affecting the majority of the townspeople? The only people that didn't seem to be affected were Mulder and the astrologist...maybe because they were the only ones open to the possibility that such things could actually be happening? That was my take on why the people who were acting strange were acting strange anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving and thank you so much for posting on your vacation. You showed all the iconic clips. Gillian’s acting really makes this episode. Her emotions are just simmering under the surface and the scenes with Mulder are so intense. Season 3 has some of the best episodes and you’re blogs are hilarious and on target. Can’t wait until next week. I hope it’s the episode I’m thinking of.

In my opinion that episode was the funniest of the comedic X-Files Episode by far and one of my overall favorite episodes. It's interesting how the fans had very mixed feelings about Scully's and Mulder's interactions when this episode originally aired while today everyone seems to love it. I think the people at the time just didn't get the satire.

It's episodes like this one, and 'The Ghost Who Stole Christmas' (and some others) that make me wonder how CC can write MSR so well, but then repeatedly fuck it up in his stoopid convoluted myth-arc episodes. Dude should've just stuck to MotW stories, seriously. LOL

I was hoping you would do a vlog on this episode too. It's an interesting episode especially as far as the MSR dynamic goes. If Chris Carter never intended for them to be anything more than platonic, he should've been watching out for episodes where jealousy is on fully display. Honestly, this series gets so ridiculous in ignoring the obvious feelings of the characters especially after FTF.

So true. But at least by S6-E3 Triangle, Mulder does tell Scully that he loves her. Chronologically, this would have been within a few months of FTF. Scully really should have believed him. Frankly, I would have jumped him. He was so adorbs. In that scene.

I know it has to do with the whole planet aligning, but I think in general, women do get insecure and jealous. My best friend, a girl, has moments like this with me, lol. Sometimes, when I'm too chummy with another girl, she'll start giving me a look or silent treatment.

I just watched the episode and headed right to your video to see what your reaction is about the so called "Jealous Scully". I'm almost satisfied except for the scene with Scully saying "Sure. Fine" and snapping the latex glove followed by "Whatever". It was so sexy and hot that I went out for a few mins to take a break... Do you have these kind of reviews for every episode?
