@@jic1 I'm imagining Paul rubbing James' bloated belly with the WTC getting hit by jets and smoking in the background, and written at the top is "Mistakes into Miracles."
Hop just insulted every GunTuber by estimating his content as "low quality content" lol. Dude your videos are completely badass and are really hard for anyone to exceed.
The secret to his youthful yet stoic demeanor is the fact that he looks both 15 and 50 at the same time. Truly a marvel of the Pacific Northwestern archetype.
Marathon 1, & 2, Durandal was such an amazing story. The writing was superb and I still have a collection of all the artwork. I really wish it would be remade with the same care for intelligent writing and sense of wonder. Loved when Durandal captured the Pfhor ship and renamed it "Boomer" - Cheers and Merry Christmas!
I noticed the 'pfh' in Hop's name a while ago and thought it was a long shot (because those letters don't appear in that order often, if at all) and I just dropped my delicious store brand diet soda when I heard it confirmed in the video. We should find the other four or five people who are old enough to have played Marathon on 4 floppy disks on a IIvx and start a LAN game or something.
I recently stumbled across a 9 year old RU-vid video which was a retrospective review of my favorite video game from my childhood, “Mechwarrior 2”. While watching the video and taking an enjoyable walk down memory lane, I was thinking to myself: “This reviewer is funny, clever, blunt, witty, and… wait a minute… is that Hop?” I don’t use the internets much, mainly because most of it is just obnoxious, and it takes some real degree of talent to get my attention and hold on to it. You sir, have a real talent for making informative and entertaining videos and I am glad that your channel is growing and I hope it continues to do so. Congratulations on the 100k. By the way, I was disappointed with “Ghost Bear’s Legacy” too.
Congrats on 100k. I found your channel when researching NV stuff. Went out and spent like 8k on NV, lasers, illuminators, mounts and gear then ended up going on only a handful of night hunts over the next year. Spent most of my NV time sitting on my porch in the Dallas burbs staring at coyotes in the open field across the street at 2am.
I love your Spanish gun vids. I carried a Star PD for 30 years almost as my daily carry. Old eyes and the realization that a light was optimal and arthritis in the hands led me to switch to the M&P 2.0 with rds and tlr1 (switched at the beginning of the plandemic and was fully vested in .45 acp, didn’t even own a 9. What was I thinking?🤷🏼♂️) and haven’t looked back. Haven’t even shot a .45 in over a year now. Anyway, congratulations on the milestone.
I'm beyond impressed you got into the actual difficulty to machine picatinny rails. Most peyote don't think about how stuff is made. As a machinist its nice to see people appreciate manufacturability
Completely agree on your take about Nutnfancy. I started watching his content in 2008 when he was one of the only guys really doing thorough gear reviews with a consistent philosophy. He’s definitely quirky/corny, but he paved the way for lots of channels.
Been watching you for years now and you are the main reason I started research and purchasing firearms and training, thank you for being who you are and inspiring me!
Man.. thanks for making free content… its both informative and extremely entertaining. I got into firearms in my mid 20’s and you’ve helped me curate my taste in them. Kinda like how Johnny Cash and slipknot helped me fall in love with poetry. Probably Doesn’t make sense to anyone else but it’s special to me. Thanks man.
It'd be rad if you also released articles/other writing, you've definitely got a knack for it Hop. Long-form is my favorite type of journalism/article because you can actually take the time to get into nuance in a format like that.
Happy to see some else got their start off of Nutnfancy. When you released the SPR video you unlocked a core memory for me when you said “Nutnfancy SPR clone. My first AR was a loose copy with the troy alpha rail.
We totally need more Q&As, the way you speak and phrase things is like a breath of fresh air. As i like to say, you're one of those people who could talk about paint drying and make it interesting.
.350 Legend stuck because hunting. There are a lot of states that mandate straight-walled cartridges for hunting which rules out .223, .308, and .30-06, among others. .350 Legend was expressly made to fulfill that need.
Congrats on the 100k! I really appreciate your willingness to be yourself and have your own opinion, it's refreshing and I've learned a lot. Keep it up! Looking forward to the next 100k and beyond.
Man, I gotta say. I'm so happy for you! I've gotten heavily into ARs within the past year or so, and your content has been very informative. I also really appreciate your dry sense of humor, as it's similar to my own. I can safely say I've watched 100% of your videos thus far, and they have helped me make some informed decisions on AR-related purchases. Merry Christmas! Keep up the good content. Thank you so much.
Really glad to see your channel grow, your content is always entertaining and informative. Probably my favorite stuff to watch. I'm always hyped when I see your stuff get posted Would like to see more Q&A's in the future. Thanks for what you do hop
Happy to hear my question answered! I've always appreciated the analytical nature of your content and I think your answer explains the thus far subconscious reason why I've enjoyed watching the stuff you produce on your own channel more than the stuff you produce for TFB.
Your one of the best out there Mr hop. Truly appreciate your content 🙏 especially when am about to spend hard earned money. Your truly a blessing to the community man. Merry Christmas 🎅
I love how he’s a fan of black metal. It was totally out of left field but also at the same time doesn’t surprise me one bit. Time to shoutout the band Grima. One of the cooler sounding black metal bands I’ve listened to. (I dabble in black metal it’s not my primary genre).
You older videos are awesome! Simply because you are just being you in them, and not worrying about your subscribers. That's how you got more subscribers! Your sarcasm is hilarious and infectious!
I appreciate you Hop. At first i didn't really know what to think about you, but then i came to realize that your up front, bottom line quips are exactly what we need in this nutty hobby/responsibility.
Talked with you a bit at our booth at ShowShow last year along with Daddy Reeves. Congrats on 100k man, glad to see more people appreciating what you do.
You're the man, Hop. My favorite thing about your channel is just straight up, YOU. So many walking cliches out there the nerdy, witty, dry humor you bring to your content is so much more my style, and go figure, you seem like a pretty cool dude too. Keep it up! Edit: I'm super interested in MDRX SE! Would love to see you review it!
I love the whole, “I like to write but nobody reads anymore so I ‘ll force you to read with your ears,” sentiment. Good Q&A Hop. Looking forward to the next one for sure. 👍
Your PTR build video was my introduction to your channel, and I put off watching it for about a week, because I figured it was useless to watch a video on a firearm I am unlikely to ever get up here in Canuckland. Watched it and was hooked in your style. Keep it up! Glad to see you getting more popular, it's deserved.
Merry Christmas Hop, congrats on 100k dude, awesome to see your channel grow as much as it has, absolutely my fav guntuber. Always great info (and pretty handsome to boot), Here's to 100K (or a million?) more. Take care!
Don't be so modest, Hop, I think that before long you'll have too many subscribers and comments to be able to read and reply as much as you do now. While that would be a bummer, at least (hopefully), it would be of financial benefit to you. Thanks for all the great content, bro.
Thanks for the great video, hope you're feeling better soon, appreciate the effort it took to make this. You remain my favorite Guntuber for all the reasons you mentioned in this video.
I don’t own nor plan to own night vision, but I really enjoy your channel even the night vision specific videos. Glad to see you’re channel is growing.
Congrats on 100k subs Hop! It's been awesome keeping up with your content over the last few years. Now, where's that Oni review you promised us on the discord?
Nice job. It was fun to learn more about who you are and how you got here. Yourself and BF are my top go to's. Have a great new year, with any luck we will survive 23.
Congratulations on 100k+! Your content is awesome and very helpful. I had a DPMS Kitty Cat upper. Also had the Oly Arms 7.5” upper with the pigtail gas tube. 20k rounds back then cost 2k (reloads)-4k (new). This was back in the early 2000’s when I SBR’ed my first lower.
Thanks for taking the time to put out your videos. Definitely one of my favorite channels. In these days of “everything is fake”, someone just out there being a real person is very refreshing. It’s also awesome that someone is out there reviewing the average person’s gear. Let’s be honest, most of us can’t afford to buy only high end boutique shit- we need real talk on what gear works well, within budget. I’d also love to see more Q&A stuff, and the drunk gear talk with BrassFacts. Shit had me cracking up. Keep up the good work!!
31:58 that was amazing, thanks man! It felt like you were talking to me directly, you should keep that up, that’s what will make you go a long way on this platofrm
Congrats on the 100k milestone. Wishing you 100 times growth on that. You material is some of my fav on RU-vid. Keep up the great work and your own unique presentation. I landed on your channel on an older video on the Star pistols, been subscribed ever since.
Well thanks for answering my question, somehow I wouldn't have expected the Kittycat yet it makes complete sense given what I've seen you shoot so far. Can't wait for the 250k where you spill the beans on TFBs secret cult dungeon.
Hop is completely correct about modernizing the AK. The AK has some good points about it that make it a king in its own realm. But that's it. Take it out of it's territory and you ask yourself "why didn't I just go with X other weapon?"
Kid, I love the fact that you review budget gear and arms, it's a area that has few intrepid explorers! Congrats on 100k, looking forward to new content going into next year!!
350 Legend is succeeding because of all the places with whack ass hunting laws. Edit: Based on anecdotal experience, the first 100k subs typically takes a long time. It's not always the point of critical mass so to speak, but it's somewhere in there. I'm betting your channel starts growing faster from this point on.
Thanks for all the super useful and practical insight, as some one who is new to all of this it’s super helpful I can always turn to you for help man! Thanks and congrats been here for a while can’t wait till your at 1 million man merry Christmas!
