He's been trying to come back any chance he gets in the role too, shame he's too old for an MCU role.

I understand it being deleted for time-keeping purposes, but the piece from Shakespeare, I think, totally makes sense for what they’re discussing in the scene. Bobby’s afraid of what will happen, given how outnumbered they are, but when they stand together & put all their strength into their powers, they’re UNSTOPPABLE. No matter what the outcome/end result. If they gave up & surrendered, if Logan hadn’t given all his strength for Jean & his love for her…he wouldn’t have gotten through her Phoenix side & brought out her humanity. Magneto would’ve won, they all would’ve died. It’s about standing together for what you believe in…no matter the cost…the sacrifice.

I can see why it was cut, although his quote makes sense in context he still comes off a little too pompous.

Yeah. No offense to Nick, but as somebody who has loved the character of Beast even more than Wolverine since childhood, I've got to go with Kelsey. I think he did a better job of presenting the character the way he was always supposed to be.

I thought Nicholas slightly improved with Apocalypse.

I'm so sick of seeing the characters portrayed as young and naive like JL Mystique. Can they please return to the adult versions of the characters or reboot the whole franchise?

But that's why it's so good! It's superfluous, everyone's already had their moment, and Hank's just going off on a Henry V riff. Nobody else wants anything to do with it, but it's happening anyway. That whole movie deserved more levity, in my opinion. That was great.

I think it would have worked if the delivery wasn't so over-the-top. It should have been calm and shorter.

It was a bit comical, if it had been spoken in a solemn way I'm sure it would have hit a hell of a note coming from beast.

It seems like this wasn't in the script. The other actors look genuinely confused. It takes Jackman a second to get into it, but then he looks so excited. Ashmore's on the verge of walking off set, and Ellen Page just doesn't know what to do. Cudmore is just standing there, being Colossus. I'm not sure he's actually even awake. Anyway, it's Kelsey Grammer. He does Shakespeare like a motherfucker. He just nailed it. I do agree, if he had said "Shakespeare" at the end, just like Frasier whenever nobody knew what he was saying in that show....would have been perfect and they might have left it in. I think is Singer was still attached to this project, it would have stayed in anyway. I dunno. As is, I've watched it about a hundred times and I love it.

dadada486 Yeah nothing against Kelsey Grammer as an actor, I don't think he understands the character well enough though, Beast doesn't usually get all worked up while quoting things like he's actually playing the role, that and the choice of the quote was so unfitting. The fact that these words inspire Ice Man just doesn't seem very believable.

CosmicUndeadElf Well I think the point is that they didn't. He was on board before, and the speech was totally unnecessary. I mean, watch him. Dude looks like he's ready to flip a table because the blue guy won't stop saying oldendays words.

CosmicUndeadElf Can't really blame Grammer for this, though - being an actor, he acts the way he's directed to act. So, Beast being passionate while reciting the line instead of just quoting it was exactly as the director wanted it to be.

dadada486 damn right it is. That's the Beast I remember from the Fox series. Grammer NAILED that aspect of the character. This was a scene that would've gotten laughs.
