I think everyone is forgetting captain marvel is in this x men universe, she’s in a coma from when Rogue took her powers

I grew up on X-men. I used to spend time at my bestie's place in the weekend and it was here I found out her mum was a hard X-men fan and a Muslim, she said she read the comics as a kid. So my mate was just like "I'm gunna go make the curry, you two watch your cartoons" So every weekend we would sit in front of those box TVs in 90's and watch our show and sit down and have x-men conversations after. I have since lost my bestie and my 2nd mum, then a few years later they dropped Ms. Marvel comic and I had this moment of wanting to pick it up thinking that they both would have loved to have their story told. But I wasn't mentally ready. Then when Ms. Marvel Disney+ dropped and as I watched each episode I really did feel like they were there watching it with me. So just sitting here watching as each ep drops I do feel their absence so much so. My Angie, my 2nd mum would be as happy and as ecstatic as ya'll are for it. So please keep these going and help me feel like I am still connected to something I grew up loving from a unique perspective and not feeling alone in it all.

Binary and Captain Marvel would have to be separate characters. As we’ve already seen Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel in the animated series when Rogue explained how she was able to fly and have super strength.

The story telling in this show is top tier tho

Maria Rambeau Binary CAN NOT have been Captain Marvel INSTEAD of Carol, because there was a whole episode about Rogue getting her strength and flight from Ms. Marvel where they show and name her as Carol Danvers.

I think people forget that The Watcher and pretty much EVERYTHING were in the comics first, before the MCU!! The Watcher didn't even look like the Watcher from the MCU. It seems people see things that were already in the MCU and think that when they are in the cartoon, they are referencing the MCU, but again, The Watcher shows up during times like that in the comics too! Remember people, everything is based off the comics!

I feel like everyone missed the watcher in THIS episode. All the references to last episode… he was in this one.

I don't want this to cross over. I don't want to have to watch 6 seasons of a cartoon to understand the next mcu movie. This should just be its own thing.

Let’s not forget, this is X-Men ‘97. There are still a lot of years to go for it to catch up with 2024. The live action film versions can be these same X-Men with a time jump to current day. This way the cartoon can continue telling ongoing stories that happened years before their incursion happens. We CAN have our cake and eat it too!

Didn't Rogue already absorb Carol Danvers' powers in 90s marvel animated universe? So it'd be kinda hard to adapt this version of the Xmen into the mcu outside of a multiversal crossover

Captain Marvel was already introduced in the cartoon… that’s how Rogue got her powers.

Setting The Marvels's post-credit scene in the Fox universe makes more sense. To set it in XM97's universe, they'd have to explain how Maria ended up as Binary despite Carol Danvers being established as Ms. Marvel in the original series.

I'm sorry, Colton but that's way too big of a stretch. If you're going to include the animated X-Men, you have to include the entirety of the animated Marvel series for starts. Since some of those shows like Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and Incredible Hulk got cancelled, bringing in those series into the live action MCU also means thinking of satisfying ways that those series could've actually ended on before crossing over. That's just way too big of an ask. And about your Captain Marvel theory, in the episode "A Rogue's Tale" we see Carol Danvers as Ms. Marvel before Rogue puts her in a coma. So, implying that the universe where Monica wakes up in is the same as the 90's animated X-Men, doesn't make sense.

The only thing I am worried about regardning these X-Men joining the MCU is... They already faced Mr.Sinister, they already faced Apocalypse, and Magneto is practically a good guy now so it will limit their stories, it won't be the first time they face any of these major characters.

I think it will be an easy transition to have the live-action blend in the great start of the X-Men Franchise. X-Men 97’ is worthy, indeed. Great action, storytelling and execution.

Captain Marvel aka Mrs Marvel already is on the X-Men. Rogue absorbs her powers and she is in a hospital.

Carol Danvers already exist in this x-men universe, she is trapped inside Rogue (thats why Rogue is super strong).

I think Cable was late to stop the genocide on Genosha, and got pulled back into the future by himself to try again. We’ll see him succeed and see the return of Gambit

I do find it interesting that they mentioned captain marvel but we do have a Carol danvers in the animated universe who is in a coma due to rogue. I personally would like the show to stay its own thing and marvel explore the animated universe like they did in the 90s crossing over with spider-man and the fantastic four.

Does everyone keep forgetting that X-men 97 already has a Carol Danvers Captain Marvel? Rouge drained her powers already and that’s how she has permanent super strength and flight and such, so it’s not possible for X-men 97 and the universe Monica winds up in to the the same universe. Unless you want to make the argument that Carol became Ms. Marvel and Maria somehow became Binary in the same universe.

X-Men 2000 is the first appearance of Hugh as Wolverine. They’re going to tie it in. If Wolverine loses his memory and is lost in the wildereness.. it’ll be a dead give away

The problem with Maria being Binary is that Carol as Ms. Marvel already exists in this world already. Granted she is currently in a coma. In fact that's how Rogue ca fly and has super strength. So unless you are going to have the same process happen to Maria or have Carol pass on what power she has left then won't really work. Also the "tie-in" as far as the Kree supreme intelligence or the Watcher show up are things that were established in this universe in the 90's so not really new.

Man, the cartoon being its own thing is amazing on it's own, I just really hope they don't ruin it by tying it to a different multiverse. I personally like comic movies when they focus on one team/character and their universe like how the old Batman, X-men, Spider-man movies were.

I think you can adapt X-men 97 without actually using THE characters from the show. Simple solution is just having a variant live action universe that has mirroring events. People can cry about it not being identical, but they'll get over it.

I'd be okay with Gambit remaining dead, but I think he will come back from Cable teleporting back far enough to alter it. But Gambits death is what helps prompt Professor X into coming back.

One good show doesn't mean the MCU is great again...X-men '97 is just a great continuation

Imagine a portal opens and the xmen 97 jump through and come out as the fox cast with the cartoon accurate costumes. "To me my X-men"

That's not what a bottle episode means dude. It means when an episode is shot entirely in one location without the use of exteriors or other sets. Like many episodes of Star Trek where they don't leave the ship or a section of it.

I agree with Multiverse of Madness messing it up. I hate the fact that Sam Raimi literally did ZERO research or didn't care about the other shows connected to the characters. He was only focused on making a "Horror film" in the MCU. Hopefully they won't hire him again.

17:53 How is it confusing? In the MCU if the universe is animated, for us the audience, they turn animated and if it's live action, for the audience, they're in live action. In the confirmed nonMCU Spiderverse movies, if you're animated, for the audience, you will stay animated in the live action universe and vice versa. It's not confusing at all.

My theory is that when these X-Men travel to the MCU they will go from animated to live action much like when Dr strange changed into different things like paint, etc when him and America tumbled through the multiverses. So you match the universe you're in.

I absolutely hate the idea of these characters going to MCU. 1. People will complain that they have to watch old kid's show to understand them and the story. 2. They can't do many important stories in the MCU then bc they already happened in the shows. Like Phoenix saga etc. 3. I want to see new versions of the characters that are live action from the start.

I think people overreact way too hard. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad, whether it's Endgame or The Marvels, people have way too strong reactions. This causes people to say things like "Marvel is no more" after a few bad movies. Granted, Marvel was in slump but they are too big of a money maker to really be done. They have so much history, characters, stories, and source material to be done. People overreact way too hard. Just let it process and let them cook.

The unasked question is: Is the Chris Pine spiderman from Into the Spiderverse the same character from the 90s' animated show??

the only issue i see is in this universe rogue got her power set from carol danvers and not maria rambeau; with carol danvers identifying herself as ms. marvel. so having her be captain marvel/ms. marvel would interfere with the continuity of x-men tas into x-men 97.

@22:15 well the second season is already written so a couple options is the crossovers being cannon within the animation.. make them independently with just inspired looks and origin. Or literally stop after a few seasons in order to do Mcu

I think that only Deadpool should be the one to make mention of being animated versus not.

Let's not forget that in the animated X-Men Carol Danvers already exists and was the source of rouges powers . Maybe most universes don't have a Carol as captain marvel because of rogue, and that could lead to a great conflict if rogue comes into the MCU with a full powered Carol Danvers

Its strange though that the rules never seem to stay consistent between the different Marvel properties. Dr Strange turns animated in the animated Universe, but Prowler stayed live action when he was in spider man 2099s universe.

I'd like to see a post credit scene. Group of X-Men standing around, camera cuts to Wolverine and he is about to do something cool... and starts to fade away. We see in his place: Deadpool Deadpool then prunes himself using a TVA stick and says "see you soon". We next see the two in the live action film later this year.

In the beginning 0:15 when the video store is on fire it'd have been cool if Doug fired Colton (pun unintentional). Ryan comes back seeing the state of his store with Doug wearing a fire helmet. Ryan: Doug what happened? Doug: I ran the store successfully person We... caught fire. Ryan: Puns? You're the manager. Doug: You wanna put Colton in charge again? Ryan walks away as Doug does his evil chuckle.

I still keep sort of expecting Deadpool, voiced by Ryan Reynolds, to pop up towards the end of '97 to start the process of tying everything together.

The show takes place in the 90s and the MCU started around 2007, it's possible the incursion just merges the two universes and the animated show continues parallel to the MCU. The show could fast forward to the X-Men of 2024.

you'd have to acknowledge the fact that Rogue stole Carol Danver's powers when she was Ms Marvel, something we never had in the MCU. So we can't talk about Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers from the MCU as our connection between the cartoon and the MCU when they are different people in those. Now, Binary is another story as she'd appear in the future of the timeline of the show.

I'm in agreement that because the animated show is in 97 and MCU is in 26 that there is plenty of room for independent stories with later tie-ins as long as they don't intentionally rush the idea of incursions. I don't need this animation to be tied in anymore than our 90s Spiderman but if the show is burdened with integration, it needs to be slow and a lot of thought put into which stories should remain in animated format for the sake of story telling and which ones organically flow towards incursion territory. Let's hope the Disney execs aren't to greedy for quick cash

Leave X men 97 out of the MCU,stop trying to connect them. This is a follow-on from the original series and Spider-Man Iron man and the fantastic four of the 90's. STOP TRYING TO CONNECT THEM TO THE MCU. 95% Love it as it is.

What if during the incursion they figure out a way to merge the 2 universes adding mutants to the mcu. Then mutant hate begins to build in the 616 universe because the mutants are also 'alien immigrants'. It would be a great tie in to modern day issues with predujices with foreigners and etc.

The greatest rug-pull they could do: X-Men 97 is literally in the 90s of the MCU. All mutants perished, so they're never mentioned again... However, the end of the Marvels & Deadpool, will knock into the Mutants from the Fox universe instead.

Other people have been saying it and I've always agreed: I don't think for a moment that the X-Men universe at the end of the Marvels is the same as X-Men 97. The only similarity is that Beast happens to be wearing a white lab coat, like he does in the cartoon. But since white is one of the most generic colors for lab coats, that's a Mr. Fantastic level stretch. Carol Danvers / Ms. Marvel has already featured in the X-Men Animated Series. Having a Maria Rambeau Binary in the same universe as a Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel (I keep not saying Captain because in the X-Men she was still going by Ms. Marvel), the MCU origin story implies it is one or the other. As you even said in the video "in most universes, Maria gets the powers instead of Carol." People made way too much of that lab coat. Even the times they drop the X-Men theme into things doesn't really imply anything about universes to me (ya know, since they used it with Kamala's Ms. Marvel, who is clearly in the primary MCU universe), they just have the rights to use it and know how much we all love to hear it :)
