Of course the professor isn't dead. In the finale episode he was taken away by Lilandra to be healed with Shi'ar technology. They're just going with him being dead to the world.

They really took the Trial Of Magneto from Uncanny Xmen 200 in Dec 1985, and THEN - in the SAME EP - set up BOTH Lifedeath AND Inferno. WHILE giving us some of the best Magneto dialogue in history. Legendary. Peak. Unstoppable.
@@TheDragon704 its not really a spoiler at least from my POV. If you know anything about the x-men (even the most basic knowledge) u know that they did not write storm out. That being said I don't know the POV of people that don't know anything about the x men

I’ve seen a lot of folks genuinely upset about what happened, and rightfully so…except we know from the comics it’s setting up an incredible character study for her. I didn’t say what it is, just that she’s not done on the show. Which anyone should probably guess - Storm is one of the best and most popular xmen, the show folks aren’t gonna piss off half their fan base by removing her and an OG cast member for good right off the bat. Also, one only needs to Google the episode titles (there’s even official marketing materials from marvel made to look like an old tv guide that shows it) to know the super famous xmen comic storyline that’s coming. Just saying, it’s not really a spoiler.
Great reaction guys. Cyclops couldn't unleash on Executioner because there were too many civilians and an enclosed space. If he used a stronger beam or opened his eyes without the visor there would have been collateral damage. Cyclops gave the orders to de-escalate only. This gave Executioner an advantage.
Also the Xecutioner is in a powered armoured suit, they are acting as if it's some average Joe kicking the x-mens ass as opposed to a souped assassin. He literally came prepared to kill Magneto
Even the old children’s cartoon was so much more deep than any recent MCU. Storm was always so much better than her movie character. Seeing magneto refer to her as a goddess after going to battle with and against her is high praise.
I mean, Cal Dodd, Logan’s voice actor is 30 years older now. Tougher to hit the deep gravelly voice that we’re used to. In comparison to other returning cast members, he definitely had to put in more for his performance back in the day. Kinda feel bad that people are ragging on the voice and complaining that it’s “too different,” when that’s indeed the same dude from ‘92. Unlike someone like Kevin Conroy who consistently played Batman pretty much until his death, Dodds is legit returning to a role after a 20+ year hiatus. Folks should cut him some slack.
I think the X-Men had to show restraint in this episode because of their location. In the first episode they could go all out with the sentinels because they were in an open space. It’s harder being in a building full of civilians where they don’t want people to get hurt! I really loved the emotions in this episode🔥
“Previously on X-Men!” X-Men ‘97 is awesome! My sister and I have been enjoying it! Our childhood came full circle! Magento and Rogue’s relationship goes back to Uncanny X-Men #274. They even have a son together in Age of Apocalypse. It’s messy lol. Gambit and Rogue got married in X-Men Gold 2018, so I have a feeling they’ll get together in the series. Most of the episodes came from comic book material like Storm’s story “LifeDeath” where she falls in love with Forge, and he tries to restore her powers. In the comics, Henry Gyrich fired the weapon that was made by Forge taking away her powers. When she found out that it was made by Forge himself, she was livid.
Cyclops couldn't open his eyes in that last fight because too many innocent people around, and his team was right there. He needed the visor to continue his power. That's why they gave you his first fight scene. He couldn't have let out that big blast at that moment.
in a storyline in one comic, he shows he can combat without seeing . His spatial awareness is pretty high . So they could have showed him at least ducking or dodging rather than just getting whipped
@@ww3archangelhe just took a direct shot from the narrow end of a bo staff right between his eyes. I’m pretty sure even Captain America would be dazed with a slight concussion from that otherwise lethal shot without Scott’s visor taking the brunt of that blow. And that comic you’re talking about is the issue where he’s defending himself against a common street thug after his glasses were lost and not against a guy with advanced weaponry, battle armor (both Shi’Ar in the comic), who most likely is an enhanced human by cybernetic means (Prime Sentinel?). Also, he was defeated by a depowred Storm for leadership of the X-Men by simply removing his visor and pointing out that he had no control without it. The whole “blind master Cyclops” things comes years later in X-Men stories anyway and not from this time period they’re taking the stories from. More like the former example with Storm literally right after “The Trial of Magneto” and the birth of Nathan Summers a.k.a. Cable (SPOILER 🤣). A little realism goes a long way in comic book fights otherwise that scene would look Looney Tunes instead of comic accurate af.
The emotional weight of Storm losing her powers (momentarily) was worth it to me. Her letter hit hard because of her connection to the team. Plus it's going to set up for an even more epic return.
The thing is, it had to be someone like Storm who got de-powered. If it were Morph, no one would give a shit that Morph got hit. Having it be Storm was necessary to show how hard Magneto is trying to make this work. For someone as incredible as Storm to be hit, someone who we know Magneto respects, and he STILL chooses the high road is a huge indication of him wanting to change
For all the times the X-men got captured and had there powers taken away by the collars or whatever Im surprised Rogue don't just keep one so she and Gambit can touch like there your solution right there lol. But damn Magnetos whole speech was good asf I'm just speechless like why there 2 Jeans lol this time travel or Sinister making clones out here

Remember, this isn't a kids cartoon anymore. If they didn't do Storm, it wouldn't hit as hard. She'll be back strong just in time. Plus, I think they're picking up where Claremont started
Storm losing her powers was like a 100 issue arc in the comic. It's a big part of her story. She was a super hero without her powers and a goddess with them. Don't worry. I don't believe for a second she's really exiting the team. This is also one of my favorite Magneto arcs. I like that they are letting the comic explore issues 200-300. I love that era. Though yeah it's the x men so they are gonna rip the team apart and put them back together. That's the cycle.
No worries about our weather goddess she will get her powers back . But man I am pumped about this season I’m so happy to see my childhood make a huge come back please Disney bring us our Spider-Man back we need see that Peter and MJ reunion but yeah fellas great reaction as always

Think this one brought out the worst parts of fanboyism in the wrap up. Characters not being perfect in every scene is not "being done dirty", thats just them being actual people instead of self-insert power fantasies.
I know I've seen some light spoilers in the comments. But trust - you haven't seen the last of certain characters (& if they keep pulling from the comics like this, phew we are in for a ride)
Magneto takes the blast, Scott and Jean leave to raise their kid, and Storm leads the X-men. That said, I'm interested to see where they go with it. Great lines dropped in this episode.
Do not worry. Storm losing her powers leads to her absolute best story. You'll see. She is on her way to become even more bad@ss than ever before. X-cutioner manhandling Cyclops was great. Cyclops couldn't do much because there were civilians all around. He had no option but to take those punches until Morph came and helped. Morph's powers are physical, not energy based like Cyclops and don't put civilians at risk of getting blasted away. I think they are doing an amazing job with this series. I can't wait to see where they take us. The X-Men are back baby! Yeah!
Magneto was right and always right! His speech and delivery brought tears to my eyes! Between his and Storms scenes some of the best voice work! This show better get a few emmys!
They haven't explained it so far, but there is a reason the X-cutioner can hold his own against the X-Men and it's based on his skills as a trained fighter/marksman/engineer and the origins of his technology.
Well Jay the comic where rogue and magneto got married is not the main timeline it's an alternate reality days of future past storyline is cable timeline Also there is underlying tones in the storyboarding of the show this particular show that remain prevelant till this day if you really listen to what magneto is saying most of all
This storyline was done I the comics with magneto leading the team. He wore that outfit and all. I'm not gonna pretend to know all the details because u never read the story but it seems like in the show he is really trying to change .
No. Keep it X-Men! We've had over a decade of the other heroes you mentioned. They've already established it's all the same universe. There are lots of other hero cartoons to watch, so go there. Sorry, not sorry!

I've never seen people complain so much about something they don't understand. This is Storm's best storyline from the comic, and you are complaining that it's getting adapted? What? Also, Magneto hasn't been a villain in the comics for literally decades. And y'all don't even know who the X-Cutioner is and how skilled he is?

My guy calm down it has nothing to do with too powerful or colored (the colored part is crazy, coming from a man of color myself this ain’t the problem and the whole mutant story is literally about racism they ain’t doing that). Their following comics, there’s a awesome storyline where storm loses her powers and then she comes back even better then ever when she gets it back, there just following that storyline.
Keep Calm. The story line that this is adapted from was the arc that took Storm from being a X men team member to Storm as a team leader. All will be fine.
