Magneto has to be one of the best comic book characters ever created. From his power to his actions and decisions to his lines, the guy is a boss at his apex. X-men 97 gave us yet another reason why he is so crucial and such a dope character
@IStevenSeagalApocalypse and Kingpin are arse bruh. What you talking about?? They aren't even top 10. Loki only got popular because of the MCU. 10 years before that started, most people shouldn't even have know who he was.
7:30 This is absolutely nuts because we cannot tell where an electron will be at any time, but we can set up switches to allow them to go to certain places. This means that he knows where the switches are and just shut them off before an electron passed and nobody knows where an electron is. Even if we did know where the electron was. We wouldn't know how fast it's moving.
@@bonedoc4556 It's already safe to say that many mutant powers are basically instant at unlimited distances, otherwise it'd have taken iceman practically forever to literally freeze an entire dimension. (honestly many mutants are basically reality warpers at different levels of capacity, not counting the ones that definitively are)
100% prefer magneto has a hero/antihero, villain magneto is cool and all but having him actually become short of a middle ground makes him the perfect leader for mutants. He not going to kill all of humanity, but if any country invades and attacks he will declare war and defend his land. He understands you need to give and take, not every country is on board with genocide mutants, so if they trade and respect them, cool, if they attack his country he is ready to go to war. That how you rule a country, politics is not easy but he knows how things need to work.
These X-Men comics in the "...of X" era have been freakin' NUTS! I wish more "Big Two publisher" story arcs were as transformative as these have been! And, thanks to your coverage, I have started reading them again!
Man Magneto got beat by a wooden gun. People keep disrespecting Iron Man but we have seen so many stark sentinels and his various armor defenses Iron Man would take Mags unless he was caught by surprise.
-or you use your powers over magnetism to disconnect everything inside the Sentinel, surely the connections weren't built to withstand the strongest mutant abilities as well.
It's happened before. That said, his power extends beyond just magnetism. He rules the entire electromagnetic spectrum. He can create and control any form of energy he so wishes, even something as deadly as gamma radiation.
If he can affect the weak nuclear bond between atoms, he could evaporate people by snapping that bond or condense them down to ultra dense balls with a little boost. Depending how his power is written, he could simply unmake anything or everything.
@@michaeldayman682 He can indeed affect the weak nuclear bond, and he has in fact dissolved people and objects before. He's condensed substances as well, but that can put a huge strain on his powers, depending on what material(s) he's working with.
Tony stark didn’t design the stark sentinels. The sentinels were designed by Orchis using Stark Technology. Iron Man is on the side of the mutants in the Fall of X. I don’t know why Rob keeps saying that Stark is a bad guy here. And also, why is Rob saying Tony and Magneto are mortal enemies? That literally has no basis in the Fall of X storyline.
Not sure about mortal enemies, but given Tony has so many buster style armors (hulk buster, etc) along with having armor specifically to fight magneto, it might be implied the anti mutant tech used to improve the sentinels came directly from his suits. Like it was a "just in case" type thing, only now it's being used to hunt down mutants instead of as a defensive measure. Granted mutants are so varied he couldn't make a single suit that could take all of them unless he made it like a nimrod suit, so if that were the case he probably focused on the heavy hitters.
@@geraldposter1496 it’s not implied at all, maybe rob is implying it but not the actual story. if you read the books you would know that the Stark sentinels were created immediately after Fei Long and Orchis took over Stark Unlimited and booted Tony from the company.
Damn, I've been on other channels for a couple years and FORGOT about this channel! I was watching this 5 years ago, I LOVE this channel! Thanks RU-vid for reminding me!!!
Strange all day. Magneto(from the X-Men apocalypse film)biggest weakness is his traumatic past, rage and narcissism. Dr. Strange without the time stone is still Sorcerer Supreme...mastery over illusions, dimensional access, access to demons, the crimson bands of cytorak, ECT. Magneto is done.🫡
Dr.Strange wins. No contest. Magneto is powerful but Strange can alter the environment and nullify his power source tho I have one huge theory: Magneto can win. In judgment day he was able to manipulate The iron in his body to keep his blood flowing despite having his heart ripped Out…. If he can do it to himself he can probably do it another person but it would require great skill. Magneto basically is a metal/earth bender mixed with Bloodbending… honestly scary when you think about it
@@Just_Some_Guy_with_a_Mustache magneto needs zero time to rip all iron out of Strange. Strange has to do weird hand stuff. This is like saying Batman actually had a chance against Superman. The fight is not lasting long enough for one spell to get cast
Pardon my ignorance but I've always felt Magento's powers haven't been fully explored. If he controls the electromagnetic spectrum by default he can control electrons. If he controls electrons his power is far beyond what I've seen. (Maybe this was addressed and I'm sounding foolish)
Oh, his powers were fully explored in the early comics, but then the writers forgot that he could do things other than manipulate metals, and so he stopped doing it. Rather like how Xavier used to have telekinesis, but he never used it, so everyone forgot he had it. And technically, he can't control the electromagnetic spectrum (at least not directly), just magnetic fields - which can create electric fields and interact with charged particles, such as electrons and atomic nuclei.
I love that Magneto; Master of Magnet is back, but I love more the fact the Tony x Emma relationship became more real overtime. They both went too deep undercover.
I wonder what kind of power boost has he gotten? Or what can he do now that he couldn’t at first. It just seem like he tried to figure out who his is and want to be… another thought is can magneto manipulate storm and black atom’s power and channel them since magneto’s power sorta overlap with theirs?
When I saw this, I thought you might be referring to X-Men Red #5, when Uranos ripped out Mag's heart, and he used his power to keep him alive without his heart and stayed alive for the next few issues.
Any physics majors out there able to do a back of the envelope calculation on the explosive force in Tons of TNT that would have been generated by that quickly crushing those dudes.. Like, I remember the sub being something like 30 Tons TNT equivalent, so I am betting that with the volume of those bodies there would be more than enough energy to turn Magneto into something wet.. Also, there would not be wetness, so much as steam perhaps coming off of the metal which should maybe be glowing and perhaps liquid with the force of the implosion, assuming all the atoms were held in place against the explosion. I mean very cool move tho, lol
I was on the fense with him xmen 97 because i knew his power would be water down, be he has been a delight to watch with some anime like character growth
You know what would really suck is if you saw magneto, an he decided to make your metal helmet touch the ground. Just straight down through your body... That would be really really bad...
i thought they was gonna do something absolutely insane like blink of an eye, all the soldiers and their armor just turn to dust, because if magneto could pull all the iron from someones blood, and all the armor can rust and turn to dust, i was thinking he could just poof all of them in a millisecond, but turning them into a ball was epic too
Inconsistent showing for Magneto... On one hand he handles people faster than an electrical impulse. But a Stark Sentinel is too much? Magneto can manipulate matter at a SUBATOMIC LEVEL. He can control the electromagnetic spectrum of a planet. And he's rebuilt a Celestial!!! Then acted as the Celestial's nervous system. If he can do that, this shouldn't be an issue. (Unless the sentinels were not made of atoms, or somehow protected by magic)
I wonder how Iron Man is going to deal with the master of magnetism when there are team up issue happens, since they both going to have to deal with the iron Sentinels. "THEY SHALL BE AVENGED!!!" - Magneto "NAMES GAMBIT. REMEMBER IT!" - Gambits last stand.
