Mustang enthusiasts have been divided for years over the X-pipe vs H-pipe debate. The H-pipe has been around a long time but the X-pipe showed up during the modular times and brought a new sound to the mustang. Mustangs are raspy stock exhaust non valve is way better sounding

@evoemperor3776 yea they are that's why x pipes should not be used. My 4.6 I put jegs off road h pipe with Flowmaster 40 kit. And everyone that's heard it loves it.

@2000blackstang indeed. Had an X-pipe on my 98 V6 and sounded horrible. Switched to H-pipe and sounded better now only do that and that's what I have on my 02 V6.

They both sound great! I always used Hpipe on the older 5.0s, but that Xpipe sounds mean on these new Gens! id have to say Xpipe here!

H pipes sound good at idle and at about 2000 rpms thats it X pipe belongs in coyotes, coyotes are not push rods nothing like a screaming coyote with longtubes and an x pipe at 7000+ rpms

I switched from an X-pipe to an H-pipe on my 2017 S550. I made the right choice! Deep and throaty is better!

I bought my 2016 GT to Utah Motorsports Campus a couple years ago. Another guy with a black 2nd gen asked me why mine sounded like a muscle car compared to his. Told gim I have the mbrp race with the h-pipe. When i said h-pipe he was like, "ahhhh thats it".

There's no performance difference between the Xpipe and Hpipe on the S650 as confirmed by Steeda dyno comparison.

Is it me, or does the stock sound the best? Lots of annoying "glass-pack" popping sounds with both the X- and -H setups.

Very minimum favoring the X as the H has the tube that combines the 2 straight pipes where the X run into each other...

For everyone saying this or that is better you really need to hear the s650 in person... the sound has changed significantly so past practices arent going to be the same... imho with stock exhaust a double X from corsa and a mbrp H sounded like hot garbage on my s650 non active exhaust.... 🤷‍♂️ now i have went full mbrp race cqtback and it also sounds like shit... lol idk ill figure it out....

I’ve come across Magnaflow Competition is good for the dual tip exhaust. I also don’t have an active exhaust and the weak sound is killing me. I may give that Magnaflow exhaust a try.

all the resonator deletes sound like that in the upper rev range. not sure why people rave about this mod. probably because its cheap and axleback/catbacks are over 1k. also note that they didnt do a full pull with the h pipe at the end there.. hmm

@@ahtoomians just saying I have the corsa extreme cat backs on my 2016 GT, sounds hands down better than these. I'd recommend the corsas to every muscle car owner

@@chickennugget7590There was a slight hp advantage with the Xpipe on the S550 but for some reason the H and X performance are the same on the S650. Check out the Steeda dyno comparison.
