Here you go. www.avsim.com/forums/topic/589360-working-on-my-first-ever-freeware/page/11/?tab=comments#comment-4438808 This guy is knocking it out of the park! Will likely do a video for him!
Seemed pretty smooth to me. Remember, recording VR (especially for RU-vid) isn't easy. In the headset it's nice and smooth, you will get the odd stutter from time to time. Especially whilst recording.
Mine doesn't do that, but it does track every little movement of your head. If your head is a little shaky, it will show in a video. I had a recording of my O+ where I just got done working out and went into VR. You can actually see my heartbeat in the video, it is that sensitive. You will not notice it, because that is the way you see everyday.
Well done, you’ve just made me think about reinstalling X-Plane! Cheers, I think. Garât vid, thanks for sharing. BTW G2 arrived today as well as the Samsung G9. Happy days!
Nice overview of this classic. A bloke could fancy himself as Harrison Ford flying this Thranda version. VR doesn't display all that well on a video recording though. Seems a bit jerky, and the pointer is a bit weird for my liking. But I'm glad you are pleased with the immersion and flying the DH Beaver.
Great, as always and emotional movie .-) DHC-2 Thrandy is brilliant. Its sounds became an incentive for me to buy Buttkicker Game 2. I already bought it, waiting for delivery ;-) Are you also thinking of buying a device that adds immersion in VR, such as the Buttkicker? (Or have you tried this ???)
I love all that, I want it on my pc but I want use the mouse, not the controllers with the G2. Is it possible ? Can you give your advice about that . Thanks.
Hi VR Flight Sim Guy - sorry mate newbie G2 question - how do you move windows around in VR? I know you move the controller to the top and the blue bar appears but I'm clicking every button on my G2 controller and I can seem to move it. Did you manually map this button? Are there profiles yet for G2 controllers in X-Plane, thanks mate! Great video, might have to pickup a Penguin, sorry I mean Beaver!
Hey David. I just highlight the window with the controller (it will turn green around the edges), then press the trigger button and hold it down. You'll now be able to move the window around. Cheers.
@@VRFlightSimGuy perfect thanks Steve. I had actually messed up the G2 controller mappings so the trigger mapping got lost. Resetting to defaults fixed the issue. So nice to use Avitab in VR - highly recommended!
WoW! Steve now that is an aircraft to go out and get and it's great to see you back in X-plane 11 in VR. I gather Austin Myers is going to bring out X-Plane 12 he has started coding it and will make an announcement in the new year Now they have got this Vulcan thing sorted out and my simulator doesn't keep crashing it's really great even in the Oculus Rift S. I hope he can give Microsoft and Asorbo or whatever it's called a good run for their money we need competition!
Hey David I hope you are well. X Plane 11 will always have a place on my PC, regardless of MSFS. Especially with aircraft like this being developed. Its a stellar effort and I think you can tell, I'm blown away with this one.
Hello. Im having some trouble. I cant seem to get the little arrow that allows you to open the menu to get out of my face in VR. It stayes right in front and moves when I turn my head... It is supposed to be on the wind screen to the left, but stayes right in front of my face and moves when I turn my head. Help!!!
Hi OutCastDB the option for me was to map the show cursor in VR toggle to a button on my joystick which you can do so if you have lots of buttons like I do on my X55 then it's an easy fix.
@@dtrjones Hello David. Thanks for the reply, however I did that but it only works for the mouse curser. I will click it off but the arrrow is still in front of my face... is there somthing i'm missing?
@@billzebob1637 This is what I was afraid of. I was about to order the G2 already, but all in all I bought a used Rift S and I think I did the right thing.
I have a 9900K / 2080Ti and in the G2 - you have to play with the settings (you definately can't max things out - the HDR setting for visuals causes a mess too) I get 45fps with native resolution in SteamVR (I installed X-Plane standalone but I can still control VR settings through SteamVR which is great) - I know it's 45fps because I can bring up AVItab in VR and it says 45fps - of course because it appears locked at that rate it must be using SteamVR motion smoothing (sucessor to it's legacy reprojection system for doubling frames) so I see the frames at 90fps and everything is completely smooth.
@@dtrjones This is very bad news with the lack of usability from HDR. For me, HDR is a very important setting. I fly often after dark, and many good planes require HDR for good lighting.
Got my G2 this morning, visually it's top notch though the sweet spot in the lenses is smaller than I'd expected. Tracking is better than I'd expected though but the tracking volume is tiny compared to the likes of the quest 2. The g2 is my treat for my flight sims and racing stuff, but the G2 performed far better than I hoped for in blade and sorcery. Now just need to 3d print off some extra cable clips an lens mounts for some precription lenses.Been enjoying your content for the G2 as it's been nice and even handed rather than the "MEH! tracking is crap" or the "AMAZING!!!" of other people looking at the headset.
This was awesome!! Can’t wait it to see more flights in this bird!! My only complaint was that I couldn’t hear any of the engine noises once you changed over to VR! I don’t know if it was my phone or the video! Thanks again for the awesome video!!
Cheers Dan! I'll be featuring this aircraft again very soon. You are totally right with the sound, I messed up the levels when I went into VR mode. Sorry about that.
I picked up this plane like 2 days after it released and it was instantly my new favorite. I'm from Canada and the Beaver has always been my favorite plane. It's nice to see a high quality one like this finally come to Xplane. The developers over at Thranda are super responsive on the forum too. I pointed out some performance problems and some things they could improve for vr (such as making the doors close by clicking on the door hinges to make it easier in VR) and they had it all fixed and an update released within a day. Really impressive. By the way, you can open the windows by grabbing the handle near the top of each window and pulling down, which is a nice touch.
Cheers from Canada! Yes, the guys at Thranda are great. Did a promo video for them and just uploaded a video featuring the same plane. Please check it out at my channel.
The thing I love about your videos is the enthusiasm you have. I'll be in a great plane or scenery, wanting to share it with a kindred spirit, and no one in my household gives a damn.
Cheers buddy. Now I can see why he really landed on the taxiway, she's a tricky beast to land. Very rewarding though once you've mastered its idiosyncratic behaviours. Cheers!
