X100VI - It's Really Great

Would love to learn how you pull the colors you do for your photos and videos. Always so in love with your final edits and it reminds me how photography is much more than just clicking a button. Great insights on the X100VI, thanks for sharing your experience using it!

You were the reason I pulled the trigger switching to the XT5 from my Sony glass. I definitely prefer the XT5 as if I want the small form factor I can throw the 27mm pancake on, but I still have the option for different focal lengths. I understand the 100VI has "the vibes" but the itch of shooting on a camera with a fixed lens has been scratched by the iPhone 15 pro max. Just my two cents. Love the content nevertheless!

Nice video! I have both the X100VI and the X-T5 and rather than deciding which to keep, I find that they actually compliment each other quite well. With the X100VI I know that I always have a constant 35mm f/2 equivalent with me while I can use whatever focal length on the X-T5 and get the same level and quality of output from both cameras since they have the same innards. I'm really enjoying the VI, especially the IBIS and the 40mp sensor, but unless one feels that they must have those features and has a real need for them, I would tell most V users to keep what they have as the V is an outstanding camera, and 26mp is much more than adequate for any type of photography unless you crop a lot. If I absolutely had to select between the two, I would keep my X-T5 since it is basically the VI with the ability to change lenses. Having said that, the VI is an impressive camera with so much packed into its compact frame. It's nice to have all of that in such a small package and since I don't have to choose one over the other, I'll keep enjoying them both for now.

I ordered my x100VI within a few hours of announcement and I’m still waiting 😢

I appreciate your videos about the new iteration. I’ve had my order in since the release date and now look forward to receiving it even more, based on your feedback and images. Yes, the build quality is okay, but not the same as some of the other models. I think it’s been that way since the X-Pro line was introduced.

I guess I'm one of the very few disappointed with the Fujifilm X100VI... Coming from an old Canon 6D, I find the image quality is a pretty big downgrade for me and the low light performance is lacking. I should've managed my expectations better. You can produce "vibey" images that resemble film photography and it's easy to carry around, but don't expect it to perform like a serious full frame camera.

You could go with the X-T30 ii and family as well, similar size. It doesn’t nearly get as much attention and is significantly cheaper and more readily available.

Ordered mine on February 24th, and still don’t have it. I feel like I’m never going to receive it 😢

On battery life, did it last you all day because you kept the LCD off? Mainly used the OVF/EVF?

I would say the x-t5 and x100v feels same in terms of the build quality, maybe the x100v a bit better with the top and bottom plates, did you find x100vi to be worse feeling on the hand? Worse then x-t5 or x100v?

I wish they updated the lens tho. Its too soft. Probably going to sell mine and fund a Leica Q3 instead

Great video. What about your X-H2S? Many people claim that the last firmware update destroyed their video autofocus.

What do you use to color grade your videos?

X-S20 is smaller than the X100V and can shoot 6.2k opengate, best size/performance Fuji out there, like a mini XH2S

The X-T5 gives you more bang for your buck for a couple hundred dollars more and is more versatile with interchangeable lenses. The X100VI is pretty much an X-T5 with a lens you can’t remove.

I disagree with the build … it’s way superior to my XT5, the XH2 might be a nudge above, but it’s just also very different - the buttons doesn’t seem hollow like the Xt5s
