This is like watching a magician doing card tricks to a dope like me. It might be fun if you had a meme with a homeless guy holding a cardboard sign saying, "I'll fix your transceiver for tuition money." Put at the end or on a subscreen throughout the video. I hope they are in contact with you.
Not sure how this behaves on a mac, but on windows, to see newly added sound-channels, you must restart wsjt-x. Couldn't tell if you tried that? Great to see you tinkering around :)
It would be such a great thing if one could get a keyboard to work with this, for blind ppl (like - typing the freq, maybe tabbing between menus and such). I really hope that it will come, eventually.
Time sync would be do-able I think. Right now, this won't TX on 144.39 (I don't think the hardware is designed for it) Unless you mean APRS on HF? Is that a thing?
Baby steps. If WIFI connects on start prior to NTP, you should be able to have NTP sync on startup. Also, is WIFI more stable with this revision or does it still really need hardware modification?
It really needs a hardware modification, the only access the wifi antenna has is a tiny sticker on the left side of the radio. I can't get reliable wifi sitting next to my router.
So they theoretically added a way to connect to a wifi network, but is there a function to have the radio create it’s own hotspot? Missing that would pretty much make the wifi stuff useless outdoors..
@@mkv74 Its hard to say really. I think for the price, you're getting a decent bit of kit. Maybe it compares to an FT-817/8? Portable, Small, Waterfall, Battery, Built in Sound Card for Digital modes - and skip all the rest, what price does that leave you? The 705 Adds wifi, bluetooth, gps, 2m/70cm, D-Star (and some build quality) at twice the price... That's the problem that I have is I judge this radio by its advertising claims and find it lacking. Being a tinkerer, I'm still happy... if I put this radio into the "ultra portable SSB and digital HF" category, I start to get happy again... This could have been a big marketing win with proper spin control.
I’m a big fan of radios I don’t have to dip into command line incantations for. I’d like an X6100, but maybe I’ll wait to they’ve fixed it first. By fix it, I mean not beta test crap in the wild like they’re full on Microsofting it.
I am in the EU 😉but only mouse support, no audio 😂. Mouse funxtions are very limited. Some little clicks in the main screen. Thats all. No support for the waterfall function.
I think it‘s wifi which choose the region and the wireless module is a combined one for wifi and bluetooth. The bluetooth standard doesn‘t support different regions. How they choose the region? Maybe from the ip adress.
@@temporarilyoffline thank you sir....back into radio after lon absense.....I think you guys can make this a great rig by checking these firmwares......going to try a wind river coil mini with it as i dont have lots of room.....keep up the good work and thanks.....73, Gary....AA3NG
@@temporarilyoffline hi again.......i turned on radio...new logo came up.....feb 16, 22 version already installed.....manual is version 1.2 and inspection date was march 15, 2022.....looks like a very nice radio....great display....cant wait to learn it...tnx
@@temporarilyoffline I let the smoke out of my brand new XPA125b the second time using it. They are replacing it but I wanted to use it eventually with G90, X6100 and also the TX-500. Do you see any reason why it wouldn’t work with the TX-500? I have a RadioDan buffer/isolation interface but the failure with the G90 makes my nervous.
