I believe the placement of the antenna for you X8R receiver is suboptimal (seen at 1:13) The FrSky RX uses a pair of antenna as the receiver contains signal quality software that allows it to use which ever antenna it believes has the better signal. Ideally you want the antennas to be 90° to one another, one vertical and the other horizontal. This will allow the highest quality signal irrespective of aircraft orientation, or angle to the Tx. Other than that it's an excellent video, thanks!
I know I'm six years late but I'm an electronics student, I and other friends are trying to build a version like this for the final project. We'll be happy to know where you bought the package itself (we only need the plane without the components)
Thanks, we feel that flashy presentation tends to take away from the message. Be sure to subscribe to be updated as we provide more content covering how to safely and effectively use 3DR-based unmanned aircraft.
I seen some ppl using this plane with li ion for longer flight time. I wonder what motor and propeller you need for a slower speed/ longer flight. Thanks in advance for your replies peeps!
Hello, I love that build..is there a kit with all the components displayed in video?? I'm looking into buying a parrot disco, but this is much more interesting
The Skywalker X8 kit can be bought online. This will fly much, much longer than a Disco but be warned, the airframe is quite fragile and above 22 m/s airspeed there is a large risk of the wings fluttering and the airframe failing in flight. I would recommend the Believer 1960 as a better option now.
@@LinnAerospace ...I haven't seen that,is that an alternative with autonomous flight like the disco? Edit; just looked the plane, very nice and comes complete, at a very high price...$5500
I just build my X8 Skywalker and I'm in the processes of tuning it but I have a problem that I can not fix and I'm hopping you can help me. First when I make the turns it takes a long time to level again and when I put it on RTH when it makes the turn to return home it goes in to a dive and I have to take control so it will not crash. Any Idea what kind of setting I have to put in to the Ardupilot ? I'm using a pixhawk. What are your settings? I have also used auto-tune but no success. Thank you for your time!!!!
new subscriber: need a bit if help, which glue should i use to stick the orange plastic wing joiners to the epo on the X8, and 2ndly where can i get such nylon locking system for the fuselage as youre using here in the video.
We have used epoxy, but the most important part is to sand the contact surfaces of the plastic and foam to allow for better adhesion. And the nylon thumb screws and threaded inserts can be found on McMaster Carr.
@@LinnAerospace thanks for the reply bro, I will definitely sand the foam a better for proper adhesion but cannot buy epoxy in my country I was advised to buy E6000 glue hope that works and so have a bottle of Gorilla glue original which I am not too sure about...will look for the nylon thumb screws ..thanks
