Manual alignment has no residual but that likely doesn't really matter. It depends what question you are trying to answer. Scan point to scan point measurement/analysis is the as-built analysis and generally is what matters. How vertical is the elevator, how far is the mechanical pipe from the boiler, etc are questions that are usually asked and can be determined with scan/scan analysis. For 500sf, if the registration is good, the accuracy of the overall point cloud will be close to 1/16". Manual alignment has no residuals. So scan to model data analysis is difficult to specifically analyze on one point. If you are looking for verticality, flatness, column locations or MEP installation, you can perform an inspection and visually see if all the elements are off.
