I hate it because what that did to how people see Central/Eastern Europe, destroyed pretty much tourism in that part of Europe when in fact Central+Eastern Europe for the most part is one of the safest places on the Earth + that part of Europe definitely doesn't look like that in RL but many, many people from West believe what they saw in Hostel movies.. but whatever, Americans needed to fear Eastern Europe, so they made those terrible Hostel movies.. atlest Eurotrip was a comedy which made fun out of stereotypes that Americans had/have about different parts of Europe

I would say Hostel 2 is probably my personal favourite of the series, so I reckon it's definitely a worthy sequel to the original Hostel. (Also James, thought I'd point it out if you ever cover Hostel 2, the final girl also played the Hitchiker that shot herself in the Texas Chainsaw remake... She's also Detective Chloe Decker in Lucifer!)

Dude, this was such a good episode. Hostel and Hostel-type movies in general are definitely my least favorite subgenre of horror, so I've never done any kind of thinking as to why people liked them beyond the bro instinct of wanting to gross out their friends, but hearing Xavier explain it made so much sense to me. It's a perspective I've never heard talked about with such passion, and like, I'm not gonna jump to rewatch these movies any time soon, but I do have a bit more respect for the fans of them!

I knew Xavier Woods was a cool guy but hearing him discuss the torture porn sub genre in regards to the Bush era gives me even more respect for him, the other wrestlers clearly respect and enjoy the genre but hearing him discuss horror theory in regards to societal fears is so cool. This was a jovial episode which I did not expect for a discussion on Hostel. I enjoyed how y'all touched on different horror sub-genres and the way they connected to the enjoyment of the movie. Hostel is actually the first "horror" movie I saw, and it was coming on TV. And boy when I saw the Achilles tendon being cut it just stuck with me, I have always remembered that part of the movie.

Hostel is one of my favourite horror movie and I've regularly re-watched it. I love how everything in the movie comes back to play later on in ways that doesn't announce it, such as Paxton seeing the guy and two girls and runs them down with the car. My favourite example of that is the moment Paxton decides to go back for the Japanese girl ties back to him opening up to Josh about the little girl he witness drown and didn't do anything. Makes me annoyed that the sequel does him so sorry after everything he went through.

this is the first ever horror movie i remember watching, when i was like 6 or 7. to this day i'm so scared of people being near my feet and my achilles tendons in particular (the year after i watched it i actually sprained one of mine lmao). i also have a fully fake vivid memory of seeing the scene where the girl jumps in front of the train and her other eye just pops out and moves toward the camera. xavier's so awesome and i'm really glad that you talked abt this movie since it's such a core memory for me!

I love Xavier's personality he seems like he lights up the whole room and i also love James's personality because he make scray movies funny , like before i watched him i HATED scary movies but now i LOVE them😁

I think all of that stuff about a person's motivation was really cool to hear. As a person who can't stand to watch people get tortured, I never really understood why people liked stuff like this. But this dude explained it really well. You're awesome, man!!
