@IndyB25 Also, E68: Hard Drive Error - Hard drive not DMA configured: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it. Also this can be caused by a problem with the fans that make them draw too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then....(next com)

Just open the old xbox360 hard drive and take that cable that is plugged in to the old xbox360 hard drive and plug it in to the new xbox360 slim hard drive and then get your transfer cable and plug it in the xbox360 and then get the cable that is plugged in to the xbox360 slim hard drive and plug it in to the transfer cable and download.
16gig USB Drives for the win :'D I have all my data on a usb stick, and Im using my old hdd from the old-ish white xbox and it works fine. Hope you get it fixed, Sad to see data die ='[
Guys you dont lose all your data, if you had the orignal xbox and transfered your saves to the slim and you just got the e68 error, reverse the sycle and put all the saves back to the orignal xbox 360, get a new hdd and start again
Fix for any Xbox 360 S error you may encounter: Take out the Hard Drive, Put it back in; Replace Hard Drive if faulty. From what I know every Hard drive, DVD drive and Integrated memory units are tested before installed onto an Xbox 360 S motherboard.
@IndyB25 too much current draw - this means that the console is drawing too much power from the power supply. This is most commonly in modded consoles this can be caused by excessive LEDs or other extraneous hardware, in non-modded consoles this most often caused by short somewhere; a common problem is USB ports that have been damaged and the pins inside the port are shorting out on each other." - Credit:Xbox-Scene
i have this same problem. here is sn temp solution. pull your harddrive out turn it on then off an replace your harddrive it should work then then clear cache in the system options
The only solution that will work is too take out the HDD out of the casing, and hook it up to a computer, and clone the drive. This way when you get your new hard drive, all you have to do too is restore the image. It looks like I would have to mod the new 360 too run cooler. When I get the chance to buy it that is.
E68 is a hdd error it means sectors are damaged or corrupted on the hdd it has happenedto my elite hdd a couple of times but it never stays i just turn it off and on aain and it goes
what IndyB25 was trying to explain, just unplug your HDD and them plug it back... turn on the 360 and see how it play fine, if dont work, send you HDD to Microsoft... the problem is not the 360 its the HDD!!
that happend with my xbox and i took the hardrive out and it still went red even when i put it back in correctly. plus it doesn't even show the picture or the error screen. please help. it is a xbox 4gb slim
It was the hard drive ...... Had the same E 68 ....but when I removed it ...mines work fine now......plus ppl at GameStop told me it might be one of the plugs if it's one ring ( I have the gray version)
Hey man. I talked to an Xbox hardware support guy about the same error I was having, and he said that he had an e68 error an that he took his hdd to GameStop and they fixed it for 18 dollars. Well I did the same thing as him and sure enough.. It worked
incorrect voltage - this can be caused by the power supply being plugged into an outlet that is not providing the proper voltage for the power supply to function properly. (next comment)
All it that happended is the hard drive got moved around. But it is totally fixable just take your hard drive out and blow into it to get rid of some dust real quick then insert it back in till you hear a click just make sure it is in there good and then it should work if not buy a new Hard Drive
The way i got mine running for a while was to tap the hard drive when it was booting up, when you get your new Hard drive, boot up your old one buy tapping it during boot up, then transfer.
you want the 4gb model and add the harddrive. this system is faster and better bilt and a secerit microsoft made it whare it will use the extra smace of the internal 4gb as a ready boost like a pc.
Take out your hard drive it happens to mine but I have to slims so it's ok and if u still want to use that hard drive u have to put it in to the other Xbox
I solved the red dot on my Xbox 360 open the hard drive and check that the hard drive has the other port so wiggle the slot of the Xbox 360 and blow on it
I'm so sick of xboxes crashing and failing all the time. My first xbox 360 got the red ring of death so I bought a slim. Now this happens. Why can't it just work and keep working? It's not like I mess with it. It is in a safe place and has never even fallen or anything. Urhg
I have just 2 DAYS with this shit. Today, right now indeed, i was playing skyrim and suddenly it froze, i couldn't do anything, i waited like 10 minutes and still frozen, I had no choice than disconect the feeder and conect it again. Then i turned my console ON again and i got this message. FUCK THIS.
that is funny bfor i even watched the video just from the description i was going to right that when i got mine it did it after turning on the system for the first time after 1 minit. and what it was is the cooling fan locking up i found out. what i did is i seen the fan was not running right so i smacked the top of the system and it fixed it. you can try to do a reset turn system off turn back on holding the power and synk button then turn off and back on
I had this prob. once & i just removed the HDD , turned on the Xbox and turned it off , after a minute i put the HDD on the xbox and then i turned it on . Thats it . i think this will help you
@zackczc5291 You need a hdd docking station. I bought one because I really wanted my info but the hdd would not show up on either of my computers and nor would it show up on the computer technicians 3 computers. So you can go ahead and buy one they are like $40 but I am warning you it probable wont work. I really hope it does though.
The problem is that the hard drive is messed up.. Damaged.. So you're going to just have to order a diffrent hard drive.. Literally just now found that out and now i have to go do it :(
mine is doing the same i keep trying it now and again to see if it will work but no luck yet i really regret buying the new xbox its utter crap i want to get my money back and get the old xbox again :/
hola mira lo que tenes que hacer es sacarla de hay por que no la dejas respirar ademas para que respire bien no debe haber nada a 30cm y es asi por que respira por arriba y lo que tiene del costado es donde saca aire asi que sacala de hay
@Assassin715 This same shit happened to mine. I know its been a few years since this happened to you. I was wondering if you every figured it out? Thanks
To be fair, this was a very new error at the time and he wanted to tell people more information about the circumstances. I do agree that a short error video works best in most cases.
E68 ERROR all this means is your control arm is going bad, could already have surface errors or bad sectors on the hard drive from it damaging the platter. Best to get a new hard drive as it's going bad. TEMP FIX: Temp fix is unplug everything, turn on xbox see no e68 error, turn off xbox, then plug back in your hard drive to reset the control arm and it should work for a little while until it dies. But get a new hard drive (HDD). HOW TO FIX: Fixed this problem by getting a different new or used hard drive. Backup your old E68 error (going bad) hard drive and toss it in the garbage!
You CAN play games without a hard drive. Well, at least I can. Also, does anybody know why my xbox will not play movies but sometimes my xbox sees a game as a movie and will do the same thing his does but a white backround screen. Yet works fine after restarting the.system. Plz help.
