I would clean board first before tearing parts off and damaging pads. Then can inspect damage and replace components.

You need a pair of LCR tweezers to test those caps or just a cheaper LCR meter with the tweezer leads. It would make your job easier and faster.😀

Brilliant video, thoroughly enjoyed it. I've got a fault where Xbox one s switches off after 7 seconds. Have had MOSFET replaced but it's still doing it. Any ideas what other things would cause this that could be looked at or would you be able to repair for me. Thanks

Thanks bud, the issue you're facing could possibly be an issue with the hdmi retimer ic, the power management ic or ram. It is a little unusual to turn off after 7 seconds rather than instantly or 30 seconds but it sounds to me more like a retimer or ram issue rather than power management. I like the videos you make! I would like to know in U5D4 the pine #1 I have nothing at all not even when I press the button. then I changed the southbridge and nothing happened I still have the same problem. could the problem come from the hdmi booster? or other place. What do you think !

@@TheCod3r Nice one, thanks for that buddy. I've used Amtech previously for a few special projects, but it's so expensive that I've been looking for a good alternative for everyday use. Will get some of that ordered up. 👍 👍

@@MattyEngland no problem bud, yeah that's the main reason I don't use amtech, doing repairs for an average of £50 per job doesn't make too much sense to pay £15 on a tube of flux lol

🐨 I am wondering how many peeps have discovered when ever using their Hot Air Station a high Air flow actually is no better than a Flow that is significantly lower, and in fact as per this video inadvertently just blows whatever component from where we need it to settle. In fact I have found I have never EVER had to increase my Cheap Chinese Hot Air Station more than 25% of maximum, Well except for the very fist time I used it and yeah blowing a Component to dawg knows where, ergo forcing me to wait until a replacement was delivered. Anyway this got me wondering why would a Hot Air Station be designed to have such a High Air Flow, when in all reality it mainly is cause for grief ? Has anyone got any Idea why? I agree, lower air flows can increase the ability to control smaller components. I mainly use a higher air flow when pre heating but then I'm just too lazy to drop it again. You can do an awful lot with a low air flow including reballing chips, and it allows for a more consistent heat distribution in the area you're working on

Probably because not everyone uses it for SMD components and don't forget removing ports (HDMI and Charge ports) and through hole components as Well.

@@areyouserious3092The only reason I suspect that such extreme airflows are there, is that the manufacturers have anticipated chips trippling if not quadrippling in size, ergo available chip funnels would need to be manufactered just as large as the chips if they are to funnel heat just to their pins, ergo the larger the funnels the larger the volume of air to initially be moved for directing heat to the pins of an IC, but even if chips ever get to be around 300mm the current aurflow is ridiculous,

@@areyouserious3092 I still don't have a clue why such high airflows have been provided, Are there out door workstations ergo the need for higher airflows in order to overcome out door conditions? Only way to resolve my curiosity is if anyone has an infra Red Thermometer and they test Working temperatures at various airflows. As I found with my Hot Air Station any air flow above 25% has no advantage whatsoever, no matter how large the chip, speaking of which I wonder if anyone has actually conducted some test and then recorded it?
