Great Video, love your work, nothing wrong with smoking, smoked for 40 years, still envy watching other smoke, relaxing, in times of troubles, Also learned, lessons, neighbour asked me to look at sons, Xbox one S, no nothing on tv, never done one, give it a go, watched your video, bought a few things. Advanced Solder Soldering Paste Flux Grease RMA223. NT soldering paste. 381F no clean rosin flux. Solder Wick 3.mm1.5M Desoldering Braid Solder. HDMI IC Control Chip 6Gbps Retimer SN75DP159 40VQFN for XBOX ONE S. 138-145°C low temperature SMD desoldering alloy, 2 x Silver Thermal Paste (Halnziye HY710) High Quality. 2 in 1 soldering station 8582D Well, low heat 210c, high heat 420c - 480c chip still will not lift off the board, should blame you for making it look so easy, thinking of dremel next, still looking forward to your next video, keep up the good work, regards.

Thanks for the video. I have my sons xbox that has no display. Will look to replace the HDMI port and timer chip. Please stop smoking and move to vaping, at least. Once you get to your 40s, you will find the effects of smoking taking hold. Take it from me that having to go to the hospital for checkups, scans, and other tests is no fun. Especially if you're a dad and you have kids relying on you to be around.

How can we distinguish it from it being a hdd issue? I have the new retimer here but I got to thinking that maybe it could be another issue.

Hey Cod3r, Im a beginner and trying to replace retimer on my xbox. Tried two times but looks like I failed - it is slightly offset and not all pins are touching. How many times can I try to unsolder and then re-solder it without damaging it?

Hello.I have same issue on xbox series x after replace hdmi port i get screen but it only allow me to use 480p 1080p not 1440p or 4 k ,sometimes it allow me to select 4k but screen gets static glitching lines.Please reply Sorry for my english

Hello, I need your help please. I have in my workshop a switch that connects wifi but not bluetooth, and the joycons do not work uncoupled from the console. I already tried with all the configuration methods and apply heat and flux on the wifi / bluetooth chip but the problem remains, do you know how to fix it?

You likely need to replace the WiFi IC. If the IC is faulty internally a reflow unfortunately won't help

What caused the encoder chip to go bad?

It's hard to say. It can be a number of things including the user disconnecting/reconnecting the hdmi cable, it could be down to a power surge, overheating amongst other things

Hey CodR, i want to buy this xbox one s (special edition purple 1tb).. the owner told me that the console turns on but no image on tv… i’m thinking retimer? If so, maybe I could replace. Would say i could do this? 😂

Yeah it's possibly the retimer but could also be the hdmi port, hard drive or ESD chip. With a little practice all those repairs are fairly simple jobs

I just replaced the decoder chip, tested the filters, resoldered the HDMI port... Still no video. Any idea where I might look next? Im more determined to get this working then ever before for the sheer fact I don't want this to beat me! Lol
