The S put the fun back into gaming for me. The low cost means I don't have buyers remorse when I don't play it for a while and Game Pass is great value. And this is all coming from someone who used to be a PlayStation fanboy.
Amen on the buyers remorse. As someone who buys tons of tech, I get that a lot on expensive products, had it hard core on my series X but not for my series S. Great point
The Series S is only a good Deal If you buy it privat for under 200. I Zell you why: for a new price of 200 Dollars/Euros more you get 3 Times Grafik Power and dubble storage!! And believe me, i have the Series X and the Series S and the ps5! In many Games, not all Games but in many Games the Series X Looks much better! The Main Problem with the grafiks on the Series S is that it's Not Sharp in the backround and in some Games this IS so extreme that you can't aim enemys or you do Not cleary see the next Corner in racing Games. If you See those Games on the Series X you have a much better experience and you will never Look Back to the little Series S!
100% agree grew up on playstation and will always be a fan boy but when it comes to customer value and actually thinking about your consumers I think xbox takes the cake (love my series s)
Sounds like we're in the same boat. I sold my Series X a few months ago as I wasn't getting hours and hours of use out of it, and having £400-£500 worth of hardware just sitting around doing nothing was bugging me. So I've just ordered a Series S from Amazon for £185 so there won't be any buyers remorse if I only get to play it for a little bit every week. Perfect!
You can get a Series S for $250 now with the holiday price cut. A lot of people, and I mean a lot, still don't have a 4K TV; and families with a single parent or multiple kids can benefit from the price. It is still a good entry next-gen option, especially with Gamepass.
@@TechSpaceCowboy personally I 100% agree but at the same time mw2 just came out for old gen running at a consistent 40-50fps if that game can be optimized for old gen there is zero excuse for developers to not be able to run new games at 60fps on this little beast even at the higher resolution
The S literally brought a lot of joy back for me. When I play my X or on my 3070 PC I feel like I need to play to “get my moneys worth” the S I am flying through so many games with no care or guilt.
@@RedEyeSalesGuy why are u worrying about $ u spent. That's insanity u should be happy you got 1 some people still can't find it. Make more $ and enjoy what u have thinking u have to play it more to get your $ worth lol thinking to much about the wrong things guy
I’ve only had my series S a few months but it’s been great! Such a good value console. Just finished Guardians of the Galaxy on it and it was a fantastic time. Absolutely recommend it together with game pass.
Of course, it's worth it at $250 to $300. And it has never been slightly validated that the Series S is holding anything back. It's actually been debunked that the Series S isn't holding anything back whatsoever. It's Devs not optimizing their games for these new consoles. Remember, the Series S is a 1080p to 1440p console. It's also a 30fps to 1440fps consoles. There's no computer on the planet that can touch the Series S at the current price point. Well worth it if you aren't concerned about playing a game in 4K.
@@TechSpaceCowboy I definitely agree with that. However, the Series S without a doubt isn't holding anything back. Unfortunately, Devs aren't even utilizing the benefits of RDNA2, Mesh Shading and several other features yet. Hopefully they will soon. Of course these are Xbox features and not PS5
Great info. Target has a Black Friday deal where you can get this for $250 and you can get a $50 gift card also. I can see this type of thing keeping the series s competitive. I also can’t help but want one for my bedroom
I've had a Series S for over a year now and I've loved it. However, I'm not a hardcore gamer. It works fantastic as a Halo and streaming machine. It fits anywhere and is quite affordable (especially outside the US). But yeah, its performance can be a little bit of a let-down at times.
@@realrjlaboy It does, indeed. It's just that some games run, for example, at 30fps, when it seems it could reach 60. It's usually on Xbox One games that are only optimised for the One X; I understand, but I can't help feeling a bit sad.
Speaking of Halo I never had the chance to play Halo after Halo 3. I've missed out on Reach, Halo 4, Halo 5 and Infinity. In a couple weeks when I get the Series S and the Game Pass I am thinking of starting from the very beginning of Halo CE and playing the entire series through. I'm sitting at home all winter without much to do, this sounds like a good way to get back into video games again!
The Series S is great value, currently £189 here in the UK or £249 with a game. I've had mine for 18 months and loved playing loads of stuff on it. Finally got a PS5 about 3 months ago and to be perfectly honest I've been very underwhelmed by it, everything I've played seems only like a small improvement on the PS4 Pro really. I still play on the Series S more, so I don't entirely agree with this analysis. Developers just don't want to do the extra work of optimising their games for 2 Xbox consoles. Just my opinion anyway.
Target has the Series S for $250 with a $50 gift card for Black Friday and at essentially $200, that seems like a great value to me. I might have to pick it up
I somehow managed to pick up a brand new Series S on Black Friday for £180. Haven’t started playing it yet but since my TV is 1080p and it was £20 cheaper than my second hand Nintendo Switch, I think it was absolutely a great purchase
The series s has been a great console for me..I was looking for the series x but I'm not a hardcore gamer like I used to be anyway so it has been a great fit for my lifestyle now.
3 months back upgraded from base PS4 model to series S. Downloaded few games such as Guardians of the galaxy, AC odyssey, death loop, psychonauts 2 & alien isolation from Game Pass. Man!! It’s definitely an upgrade from old gen, if that’s what matters. Maybe I’ll buy PS5 digital in future, but for now I ain’t loosing any fun tbh. The experience is more than what it meets our eyes, so hang onto it. PS5 looks way too huge & would love a slim model in future, until then series S rules for me 🙌🏻
I have PS5 and Series S sitting right next to each other in my TV stand and yeah the PS5 looks like it could eat the S. But aesthetically the PS5 looks so much nicer. I have them both laying down. The PS5 has a really nice sleek look and while the Series S is cool and small it also looks like something you'd find sitting on a shelf from the 1960s or something. Like and old box radio. It's not too pleasant looking.
I agree that the value goes down once the Ps5 digital and Xbox Series X become more readily available, however, I still think the Series S is perfect for budget/casual gamers. You still get a next gen console and its new releases. That thing is so portable and fits anywhere in your home - which is a little detail I know but something you do come to appreciate. With that being said, I think it will be smart of Microsoft to perhaps consider lowering the price to $250? That would really make its value go up again and at that point it really does justify the lower performance, graphics, etc
I’m not a casual gamer I’ll say that up front but I prefer this system over the series x I’ve never been one for graphics and 4k whatever thingamagig and this offers great speeds and good enough graphics it will be my console until it’s phased out and replaced with the next iteration of consoles and that one will probably be the cheaper one too bc why buy a $600+ with $70 dollar games save some dough and buy the cheap rig even if you can afford the higher price point it’s just more economical
@@Talon18136 digital foundry has shown time over time the frame rates are nerfed on the S ,I got a digital PS5 for 379.99 not including tax, why compromise?
I think the series s is still perfect for a 1080p monitor. What makes me sad, is that if games were optimized for this console, it could run them easily on 1440p @60Hz… but developers as you said, don’t want to work with this one. I think the series s is perfect for people like me, who just play a few games when they like them, but if you have a 4k tv and play a lot of games, it’s definitely the series x/ps5. I just didn’t have that much money at the time, and i still have a 1080p monitor, so it would have been kinda pointless buying the series x. I still like my Series s, but ngl, i often wish i had the x or a ps 5…
In my country the price for PS5 digital edition is 650$, and for the disc edition it's 700$. Not much of a choice between them and Xbox Series S that costs 280$. Still wondering when and if the prices will go down 😐
Totally agree, with more availability of the Series X and PS5, the Series S ‘s value decreases. I hope Microsoft updates the Series S though :) since i think it does serve a niche use when combine with GamePass
Series S issue is very slow memory which hits the graphics performance hard. Looks like Microsoft designed this to be for competitive gameplay where frames are more important than graphics/visuals.
@@stariqa2 most gamers don't care. As long as it's able to play the games they want, that is good enough. And if you feel the way you do, the X is the machine for you and you weren't looking at the console anyways. Sales are showing exactly this. 250 for a family is a better pill to swallow than a 500 machine.
Will I also be able to play old classic games (from the older xbox models) in digital version on the S, like the Dark Souls series, Metal gear solid series, Castlevania, etc.. ?
It is going to play every game that comes out this gen. That's a fact. The resolution and frame rate will vary from game to game, but there's no question about it being able to play current-gen games. I own an X, S, and PS5. I end up playing the S a lot. I bring it to work with me when there's downtime.
For €170,- second hand, the series s is actually the perfect addition to my ps4 pro. PS5 is sadly still out of stock constantly here, so it’s mostly not even an option, even if I wanted to spend the +\- €300,- extra 😅
Definitely! I prefer using the Xbox Series S (for travelling) that I just bought new for £179, then my PS4 or my PS5 or even my PC with 6700 XT OC. It’s sleek and comfortable to just chill in travels really
Id say this is the best device for backwards compatibility. Not just the Xbox original and 360 games. But emulation. It's nice to have one console than can play almost anything, past present and future. Only downside for me is the storage. If you plan to have many games downloaded id get the series x.
I have the series s and I love it. Now I don’t have the best tv, and I’m just a casual gamer. So I’m not looking for the best of the best. But I genuinely have so much fun on my series s. I mainly play rdr2 and overwatch 2 and to me both games run great and look great too. The only thing I worry about is future support and how long my console will be able to play the latest games. But as far as I can tell the series s is a very loved console and many many people own it, I can only assume that a very large chunk of current game pass players are playing on a series s and I think that Microsoft is likely to continue to support it and hopefully push developers to develop for it better in the future. Anyway too me it’s a really fun console and for its price you just can’t get anything better.
Xcloud will be the solution to your concerns. Those games run on X gaming blades and don't require storage at your end. I'm currently using it and as time goes on, it will improve on performance, which for me, works great.
@@chipapa50 ah yes that is also an exiting prospect for the future of gaming. I definitely see gaming becoming a far less expensive hobby in the future. It will be more subscription based like Netflix and instead of having to buy super powerful hardware to play games you will just need a decent internet connection.
Hey, What would be helpful for me when this topic comes back around for you is your perspective on the type of tv/ monitor it will be played on....Thanks
It's because of input lag, hz, and framerate and I can't play fps on console ever since switching to PC. Playing cod and apex on PC wayyyy better than console. The only reason I would play console is for gamepass and sports games
Been using game pass ultimate for cloud gaming and I've been loving it. There's still a good chunk not available on cloud, so I'm happy you made this video!
Im not a gamer, but the current discount plus my mate highlighting the benefits of game pass promted me to get an S. For someone who just wants the occassional play its a great value proposition.
You really picked a great time to make this video because I've been binge watching videos on the Series S out of curiosity lol. I have a question for you though. If we put aside performance, value, specs, etc on the side, would you say the Series S is a fun console? I ask because a lot of people would say the exact same thing for the Switch. It's not powerful, it can be a bit pricey considering the hardware is outdate, there is no cool subscription service like Game Pass. But even with all of that in consideration people still love it because the console is just fun. Does the same apply to the Series S?
Yes and no. I don’t enjoy playing AAA titles at less than 60fps personally. But there’s tons of games outside of that category that are super fun on it. The difference with a switch, is that all games are being played in the way the developer intended them, because there’s only the basic switch hardware to develop for, where as with series S, the X is what many developers want to develop for, and then they have to dial it back for the S
@@TechSpaceCowboy Fair enough. Seems to be a game by game basis then. Thanks for the detailed reply. It's quite helpful because I'm considering getting the Series S.
@@cyberskull95 I have the series s, got it a few weeks ago and have been playing heaps of games. The main two are overwatch 2 and red dead redemption 2. I have a pretty cheap tv and I play in my bedroom. To me the console is perfect. The graphics are great and the fps is great too. Haven’t been bothered by either, and often admire how good the games look. The series s is a very loved console and many many people have it so I would bet that Microsoft continues to support it for many years to come. It’s definitely a fun console in my books and you just can’t get anything better for its price.
Thanks for breaking this down for the moms! I know now to purchase the Xbox s for traveling comfort or to keep over my daughters grandparents home. It’s lite takes up less space good enough to game on while away from home. My daughters plays Disney’s dream light valley and their game is stored on the Disney Cloud so no worries about storage shortages, okay cool I fully understand! Thanks for the breakdown. 💕⭐️
i’m looking to getting back into gaming after a couple years without playing any games besides a few mobile games, would this be a good fifa/cod machine with the odd gamepass game like forza horizon 5, minecraft or skate? because i’m not trying to ball out for a ps5 but i want to experience the next gen version of games
Bro, yes! Im 29, i was having the same dilema, im not a gamer so i wasnt trynna ball out on the ps5 so i got the series s, best decision ive made, im on it everytime i have a day off, wether im on cod or elden ring, or youtube , it does so much💯
Picked on up for 100 for my son. Brilliant. I have a 3080 pc beast and on 2k or 1080p there is hardly any difference. It's a real nearly squint to see the differences situation. As for studios who find it limiting, I get that from some who do exclusives , but the pc market has always had to cater for differentiated systems, and they do this by turning setting on , off etc. I think it's great , and an equivalent pc would be somewhere around the 6-700 mark. Plus parent controls are excellent.
Personally I didn't need the series x per se for the capabilities of graphics but I did want more storage space, a disk drive as I still have lots of physical copy games and I had the $200 extra to spend and I found my series x for msrp at a target. So I jumped on it.
considering xbox series s is now 250 dollars and 230 euro's where I live because of black Friday. and xbox series x and ps5 are still full price. It's really worth it now when on sale because a PC with similar specs is like roughly 750 dollars meaning the series s is a steal. its also a great gamepass machine because of that.
“I can’t reliably say you’ll get 60fps on the new games.” This exactly. I thought I was gonna get 1080p 60fps but I’m getting 1440p 30fps. I had the Series S since January 2022. I just recently got the Series X a week ago. I always planned on getting one when it was in stock but later on I was like damn I really need a Series X now. I totally agree with this video. Get an X for triple A games and more storage. Get an S for Fortnite and a few games.
@@d1sk-cord531 only good games that I know are Cyberpunk, GTA V, Forza Horizon 5. A lot of games are good. But obviously these are better on the X. It’s just developers don’t wanna make games work on the series s.
The Series S is a great little companion console/2nd console. I got my Series S about 6 weeks ago at Target, they had them on sale for $250 with a free 2nd controller. Seemed like too good of a deal to pass up... I already have a Series X in my living room on a 65 inch 120hz hdr10 Hisense U7G, and my One X on an older 55 inch 60hz 4k Vizio in my bedroom. The Series S now serves along side my One X in the bedroom for them lazy days when I feel like gaming in bed. If you're gaming on an older display that is lacking 4k, or HDR, or 120hz refresh, then a Series S would be just fine for you, I honestly don't see much of difference between my Series S and One X on the screen I play them both on.
Hey guys can anyone please recommend how should I get sound on my Xbox series S. My monitor doesn’t have built in speakers, should I buy USB speakers from Amazon, or just replace the monitor. Please help guys, thanks?
The "S" is better for me in ways that have nothing to do with cost or performance. Its physically smaller size works better for me where I use it, and that's something that neither the X nor (especially!) the PS5 provide. That also means it's vastly more portable, if you travel with a console. I play a healthy mix of AAA and indie (thanks to Game Pass). It also generates less heat, which is useful when using it in confined spaces in the summer. So there are some reasons to prefer the Series S, even if the extra cost to get an "X" or a "5" is no big deal for you.
hey bro I travel with my series s I got the sling bag for it works great Walmart or Amazon has them ..RDS Industries Xbox Series S Game Traveler Sling Bag..can even put my Seagate hhd in it behind my controller
Can now New-gen fifa 23 run on an "xbox Series-S" with "120fps" at atleast 1080p with variable refresh rate now or is the game is capped at 60 fps. Really in need of this info for a purchase decision.
What would you say if the difference between a Series X and S was 300$? Currently seeing that offer here in Germany and I'm tempted to buy one.... Or I just upgrade my PC.. My i5 3470 is getting pretty old now.
Played many games on it , cyberpunk looks awensome , plague tale requiem too ... dying light 2 for now is rather low resolution but maybe they will be able to optimize it a bit with patches . Also Dakar : Desert Rally mayby not look that bad but performance just very lacking ... but to be fair not much better on my gtx1080 PC so would also blame it on game optimization and hope for future patches .
@@TechSpaceCowboy if there will be big problem i will always have my PC ;) But from what I see there is no problem for now , only some lazy developers are making a lot of noise in the web.
I followed you with lots of videos about the Series S and I agree very much. As the owner of both the Series S and X, the Series X is definitely the way to go overall (like, duh?). But this Series S is a legit Fortnite machine. I love it on my 4K TV because the game looks darn great in 60fps mode. But whenever the PS5 digital goes into the picture, there's no fight here. Twice the storage + way better performance, many more games work at 60fps and last gen games don't get capped at lower res like the Xbox One and One S. The Series S is so awesome at some sale price thou. $250 or even $200 at Target for this Black Friday.
What about if I play currently on my xb1x console games that are mostly regular xb games or og/360 titles and I already have a 4tb external hard drive, (after checking I have one series x/s game fifa 23)
I don't know much about the situation in the US, but in Europe: new Series S: 270€ new PS5 Digital: 450€ (almost always in a 520€ bundle) The PS5 is still hard to find and the digital is still sold for 600€ by scalpers. The Series S on the other hand can be found second hand in 'like new' condition at 200€. So I agree that it's not worth 300€ but being so easy to find at 200€ it's an excellent price compared to the PS5 here
I have one and it plays the xbox one games fine but wish some game were better but than nothing you can do for a game that came out during the xbox one early days ,some games like call of duty ghost and advance warefare are hard to see because of a blurry effect
Xbox Series S can run Cyberpunk at 60fps. It's up to the developers to optimise the games. Even Dying Light 2 came out as 30fps now runs 60fps. COD MW2 can run 60fps. In the UK black friday deal of £190 from £250 is a bargain system. The PS5 Digital and PS5 Disc has gone up in price by £30. Costs £390 for digital and £480 for Disc. Xbox Series X is still £450. Plus with GamePass makes it even better.
Im very happy with my series s. At the time the price of an x was $700 and I got my s for $250 at game stop so to me it was a no brainer, I am planning on upgrading to an x after I upgrade my TV from 4k 60hz to a 4k 120hz.
I'm got a series s to go with my switch it's literally taken it over last Xbox I had was the original 360 which I loved ..by God I absolutely love my series s it is awesome I carry it with me traveling in the Xbox series s sling bag made for it works out perfect it also holds a 4tb Seagate xbox hhd drive man I love the setup and with gamepass it's super awesome I wouldn't trade it for anything bro...and yes it's the lazy developers not the system and I'm sure the rumor got started by the competition because it's selling really well makes sense .
I'm thinking of getting my first console ever and it to be the xbox series s.. will it work good on my 4k 60hz tv? Is it still worth it today? And how long will the console last for? PLEASE HELP!
The s console is an amazing with its size portability and power I combined mine with a gstory attachment screen and love it pair them with the game pass ultimate with cloud gaming and get play great quality games with out downloading
I wanted some feedback possibly, so I’m interested in either Xbox’s however I’ve been leaning more towards the S since you can pretty much take it anywhere and i don’t mind not having a disk drive, I’ve never have had that simplicity with a console yet everything in system standards and graphics seems to lean to the X. My main dilemma is I finally got the PS5 and still have my Xbox One from 2013 and I’m starting to think it’s time to upgrade the Xbox. I feel like there’s not a huge difference between the two so why not save $200. I’m still not completely sure but could use some feedback :)
if you don't have the mony of buying the x it is the best console but if you have mony just buy the x😊 the only problem is not next gen games optimize game work in xbox one s version
Just bought an Xbox Series S & coming from a Switch, I must say that if I get 1080 60fps, I'm already happy. I never looked at 1080 and thought 'oh, I wish it looked better', so I assume this will satisfy my needs and I got it for only 229
Bang for bucks this is the best next gen console for casual gamers. The price has been down over Black Friday to £170-£180 in the UK and that is at all the large retailers. For that price it’s a no brainier.
Were the complaints about the series s not from the a character designer and someone who made that surgeon simulator? Additionally wasn't metro just badly optimised? As was Gotham knights which runs poorly on high end PCs? Besides doesn't MW 2 run perfectly on the s?
I had considered getting a Series S to use as an Emulation station but I think the Steam Deck might be the perfect option for emulation. I know the Deck is potentially twice the cost of the S-S but I think it's worth it.
If I was in your situation the only thing that would bug me about the Deck is that because of the nature of it, I would ultimately want to play it portably as well. And because of its weak battery that would be a problem. Plus I may be wrong about this but isn't the dock for the Deck sold separately? I don't know how much it would cost if it is, but I assume at least around 25$ which is the price of some great games out there.
As an Xbox Series S owner.... I am happy to play older titles at 1440p and 1080p that are on Game Pass and/or Cloud gaming. I don't play 1st person shooters, AT ALL. Right now I am playing Morrowind and Forza Horizon 5. And they look great on my 1440p monitor. I like the S also because of the small size... I play on my computer desk and have the S under my monitor, it fits very nicely... bigger consoles would not fit at all. Any game that doesn't play well on the S that I want to play, I play on my computer (much more powerful, but busy doing other things most times). I bought the S on the Target early Black Friday sale... 50 bucks off + 50 dollar Target gift card. Hard to beat on that sale!! I pay $15 per month for the Game Pass Ultimate.
@@masteryoda2772 The one s runs Warzone 1 and 2 like shit. I was gunna buy the series s, it looks like a great console, but the series X graphics sold me. Can’t wait!!
Got this just about 2 years ago and have not regretted it one bit. Took full advantage of game pass and this year (Family game pass) if you have friends or family with xbox series S/X look it up. Unbelievable value for money. Went back and played all The Batman Games, Resident Evil games,Doom, Halo master chief collection,Forza handles superbly, Playing the new WWE games with my 2 sons. Im a fairly Casual gamer as I'm a father but thanks to this little beauty i went back and completed Red Dead 1, Far Cry 5 ( underrated if you ask me) Then myself and sons fell around laughing at High on life ( didn't know it was a bit old for them at the time) aaaanyway, that litte machine has made gaming fun again. Don't get me started on Goat Simulator 😄😄😄 Enjoy it. Great value.
Plus after a triple A game has been out on store shelves for a while the developers might try to put that game on a less powerful console and if they do that, that's 200 or 500 dollars that you saved.
@@outere24 You won’t regret it I had the exact same reason to buy a series S Had a ps4 but the jet engine was just too much for me lol Now I have my series S for maybe a little over a year and it’s quiet, fast and reliable Runs every game perfectly fine (although I must say I’m not a graphics expert, can’t tell if something is in 60 fps or 30 fps)

@@fluffybunny4891 I have the series s too. Love it as well. Ive been playing rdr2 and too me, as a casual gamer, it runs fantastic. The games look great and not once have I thought “damn I wish this thing was more powerful” I think majority of all people would love the series s. Most people don’t have 4K tvs and most people don’t care about the difference. Of course some people who take gaming very seriously are going to want the best of the best and the series s isn’t the best of the best. But to a casual gamer who just wants to have fun, and for the price… it’s honestly an incredible console. It still astonishes me how they made such a powerful console so small.
You do know series S has a 120 fps most in rocket league . . . . It's pretty low res but that 120 fps smoothness is available. Also it's pretty easy to grab a series S for $250 these days. I think it has a good use case still.
It's definitely still a good buy and will remain a good buy for the rest of its lifecycle, to many gamers globally, especially in developing countries, a console like the Series S is a godsend, and a good way to get into the next gen at a fraction of the price, you'll find that many gamers doesn't care about the highest resolution or framerate, they care about their pocket and what's the most accessible to them, and the Series S fits that mold perfectly, it can be 30fps and 900p, as long as it still looks good and plays good they'll be happy, you'll also find that many gamers don't care about exclusives, they just want to play new games at a cheap price, to many as long as they can play the latest Fifa they'll be happy. A Series S with Gamepass is a deal that simply can't be beaten, if i had not be gaming on a PC, i'd probably buy myself a Series S.
I love my series s, but it's my second console. Just use it for GamePass and I'm having a ton of fun (I'm a playstation fanboy so there's a lot of games I haven't played yet)
I love it. I have an X too. some games that have not been optimized I use the s for. those that do 4 k 60 go on the X. when I want high frames I move onto my PC.😘
Suprised you didn’t mention the switch - which is the exact same price or $50 more than a series s for the glorious OLED model. With huge titles from the last gen being brought to it recently and high quality exclusives being released almost every couple months it’s insane you didn’t suggest it! I own a ps5 digital and hardly touch compared to my Switch OLED
I've never had an XBOX, but picked up the Series S on sale for 200 Euros over the holidays. As a casual gamer, this has been one of the better consoles I've ever purchased. I only have a few hours a week to play and don't need anything more. With consoles, phones, and graphics cards getting more expensive all the time, the Series S was a breath of fresh air. I still think it's great value for the money.
I'm getting a Series S mostly to play Hogwarts legacy at launch. I only have a Switch (the game dosent release until July for it) and know that it will run the game lightyears better than that. I'd say a lot of people coming from my perspective won't notice.
Big coincidence, I watched your first video when I had just bought a series s.. and now I watch it again, as I've just bought another series s! Agree with you, this console has a terrible library... But I bought it again because of XBXS2. That is all.
Resident Evil 4 is a little rough around the edges on Series S, but it still looks good and plays great. But that's really the only performance hiccup I've seen in my two years of owning the console. But I am starting to think that's it's gonna start happening more frequently as we are now starting to get deep into the current generation of gaming.
None of these current gen machines have really been tested yet, including the S. While I do share the view that the S will become less valuable over time because the games will get more advanced, to what extent we won't really know until we are out of this cross gen phase. The only company right now that is going to prioritize optimizing for the Series S is Microsoft themselves, everyone else will do it out of obligation but the X will get higher priority. We need to see how the S performs whenever MS puts out another exclusive. Most importantly, development needs to center on the current systems without having to account for the 8th gen Jaguar CPUs. I think that's the 'real' bottleneck at the moment.
When we get to that point, gamers on Gamepass will turn to cloud to get that performance boost thought the Xcloud service, which runs on Series X blades. That will solve any issue the S may supposedly run into in the next several years. This gen is going to be our longest gen in gaming.
Not gonna lie man that sucks for me because I just picked up this console last month and now I gotta go upgrade. I'll probably just try and score a digital ps5 edition to be honest and play all the good triple A games on the ps5. Anyways happy gaming people!
I own series s and just have been like 1 month and I purchased it mostly for triple A titles and it’s fine machine 4sho don’t overthink …it’s the best value for money
