The quick resume feature has become one of my favorite features. There are so many times im deep into a game and not near a save spot but have to leave.
@@oldmanballs not exactly the same here. I can cane leave the game and load up other games or apps while it is still holding my place. You can have multiple games all running at the same time. I don't normally bounce between games but sometimes I do if a buddy hits me up for multi-player or something.
one thing I’ve noticed nobody’s really talking about much is how quiet these consoles are (ps5 also), ps4 and Xbox one sounded as if they were about to take off at any minute, lava pouring out of the USB ports and the heat produced could keep you warm in the winter.
@@TJdakingful Utter garbage. Xbox DOESN'T use such a stupid thermal interface, and ps5 HAS to because the clocks are too high for more normal thermal pastes/pads to move the heat away fast enough. Regular thermal paste runs around 5C hotter, but thats enough to cause overheating. That system is so on the edge its cooling designers should be fired and that pedo-looking Andrew house should be moved to a department where he can't make such bone headed decisions. There are also reports of the liquid metal leaking out of the foam retention barrier on PS5s used vertically, thats very very not good. They are quieter, but thats mostly due to better guiding of air and larger heatsinks and fans. Nothing could be as bad as my ps4 Pro.
Nah my Xbox one never got loud the loudest it gets is after 4 hours straight gaming the fan will spool up really fast and run like that for a minute and than it gets quiet again so the problem with very loud cooling is only on the playstation
I love my series x but I still have yet to really be blown away by a game to the point where I say “wow! This is next gen”. Also, quick resume is still by far the GREATEST next gen feature
I really wonder if the new consoles are even powerful enough for any game to feel next gen. Even my PC with a 3070 doesn't feel "next gen" even in top tier games
I have a Series X and quick resume is whatever. Gets used like once every 3 months, never really needed. Doesn't even work in online games. The best next-gen feature this gen has to be haptic feedback and the triggers on the Dualsense.
@@mog_3825 it’s big to me because I’m mainly a single player offline player. Rocket league is the only game I’m ever playing online. And jumping between sports games, simulators, and shooters at a quick click is fantastic for me
If we’re looking at the timeline similar to how things were at the beginning of the previous Gen back in 2013... 2 years later in 2015, the new ps4 and Xbox one games were starting to fully utilize the new hardware and differentiated themselves from their previous titles (for the games that were cross-generational) it seems to me that we’re about to be in that same spot as 2015 next year in 2023, where most if not all upcoming games will not be supported by the (nearly) decade old consoles.
Got a Series X a few months ago and been loving it! It’s definitely the most powerful console out right now. I upgraded from an Xbox One X which I thought was powerful until I played on my Series X for the first time. Having higher frame rates on a console is a game changer. I was already used to 4K graphics but now everything is much more smoother and faster too. The Series X is definitely worth the money!
I have ultimate gamer pass for almost 3 years but do have a gaming PC with a 2070 Super, should I get a Series X? Money is no issue just worry it will sit on the shelf with no use
@@mckinzie4934 Depends on what you would use it for. Since you already have a PC it’s not worth it unless you want to play console on a different setup. If I were you I’d get a PS5 or a Switch.
Bruh, you can't even play the new God of War. Xbox Pass is good and all, but Xbox just doesn't have enough good games to justify choosing it over a PlayStation
Upgraded to my XSX 2 months ago. Going from one X to a XSX is night and day. Being able to play most games on 4k 60fps with minimum drops is insane. Load times is even faster which helps out a lot when loading into single player games and some multiplayer games. I’m surprised no one has mentioned quick resume which is a game changer not even available on pc or ps5. Game pass also helps in terms of games and variety. I just hope we get some more exclusives that take advantage of the hardware

Not a console user myself but I do appreciate these kinds of videos to see where the consoles are at just in case I ever fancy jumping back on one some day
I swear we need high quality games like PS5 has God of War, Ghosts of Tsushima, Spiderman, Spiderman Miles Morales, Days Gone, Demon Souls, God of War Ragnorak, Last of Us and in the future Wolverine and Spiderman 2 are also coming.. Whereas Xbox only has the older games which aren't that fun to play.... Like for real after all these years, we only have FORZA and a Halo that still hasn't delivered yet. It's a joke. We want EXCLUSIVES!! Good Stories and more. Not more of the same crap we've all had for decades.
The fact that it’s been 2 years is incredible. Usually around this timeframe we get news of an upcoming Pro version of the consoles. Curious how that will play out this generation.
these videos are the best! I hope you guys keep it up each year or at least each 2 years, Cause it's awesome to checkout on consoles and see how they're doing.
I said it last year and I will say it again, I am very happy with my Series S. I love the big variety of games on GamePass for a small price. I also love the back wards compatibility. I can go back to games I might of missed growing up.
Keep telling yourself that pal , when someone has to come to a comment section to say they don't regret they purchase you know that's more so them telling themselves that not everyone else , it's okay to be dissapointed and let down move on don't let yourself be locked into a garbage ecosystem of an anti consumer practise like gamepass and poor quality first party titles , only person to blame at this point is yourself , so yeah keep telling yourself that pal , cause you ain't fooling anyone else
Cant believe it's been 2 years already. Most people around my area STILL dont have next gen systems. EDIT: I finally got my hands on a series X and have been playing Jedi Survivor nonstop
@@Inebriated_Goat im sure they do have the x you just gotta tune in to the website at 3am when they restock. you gotta be fast tho i barely managed to get it but its not impossible
I'm surprised at how useful a lot of the features have been! Quick resume is more worthwhile than I thought it would be, since sometimes I get game invites while I'm already playing something. Load times have been awesome, especially on stuff like Borderlands 3 that would take about 10 minutes to load on my One S. And remote play is great if I need to be elsewhere in the house. I played Kingdom Hearts off my tablet while helping one of my sisters with her game.
@@Spazza42 that's not what quick resume is. I can leave the game, open another one or open youtube and then jump back in whenever. It works with like 5 games at once im pretty sure too. I bought my Series X earlier this year, but just started playing it last week. Life has been keeping me busy, but I’m hoping to get more use from my console this Winter. I mostly play 360 games, but I can say the Series X does a great job giving older titles a new life. I also started to build my physical game collection this year, a big departure from my previous digital-only stance.
Love my series x and s consoles. Just wish there were more exclusives. I feel as if I have yet to have a true next gen exclusive on xbox to really show the power of the console and truly test it.
You won't because they make all they games for pc and the series s they can never truly utilise the series x that's why your not getting true next gen games your getting last gen pc games targeting the most common graphics cards on pc (which ain't the most upto date spec stuff let's be honest here ) just run as well as it can on the hardware your just not getting games built for the hardware , ps5 it's different the games from Sony are built for that first then ported over to pc by a porthouse , if you want the real reason ps5 games looking so much hotter than Xbox games

Got my Series X in June of 2021. I enjoy the minor quality of life things like quick resume and faster load times. Games like Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2, Gears 5, and Forza Horizon 5 have kept me pretty well occupied. I think what I’m most happy about is the carryover of my previous digital library. Everything was so seamless and I feel like the digital landscape is worth investing in because it feels permanent. Not sure I could ever say that before about a game console.
2 years with my XSX and I'm still amazed by how fast and quiet that console is. Game Pass is also a game changer. So many awesome games that I wouldn't have touched if it were not available in the service.
I'm loving the Series X. One of my favourite consoles was the Xbox 360, it was my primary gaming device for 7 years, and I never sold or traded any of my games so I have quite the collection. Because of that, the backwards compatible feature on the Series X has got be back into playing some of my old favourites, which has been terrific, and compared to my old Xbox 360 console, the Series X doesn't sound like a spaceship about to take off 😅
I have both Xbox and Playstation. I love my PS5 exclusives, but I also the love Game Pass and Remote Play. Gives me something to do when I'm bored at work 😂👌🏾
I have both but I don’t like ps5 controllers battery life and OS everything is more user friendly and faster on Xbox to navigate and when I unplug my ps5 on accident it nearly breaks the console and Xbox just doesn’t have a exclusive to speak of halo was a flop and no new gears but game pass goes hard so everything 3rd party on Xbox and ps for exclusives obviously 😂
@@Quazzi I know it did but it never worked properly for me. I've Recently have gotten it to work better but only at my apartment. I went to work today and played abit for the x.
The UI is in need of a new gen update I will say. I got a series X and have it right next to my sub for my soundbar and i never even notice it. I like that its not a gargantuan modem (cough*PS5*) I feel it will feel like Next gen once they upgrade the UI like the ps5 did
I bought both at release. the XSX + Game Pass quickly became my main console while I turn on the PS5 whenever an exclusive comes out. The value given by the Series X + Game Pass is unbelievable.
I’m new to halo and shooters in general but I really enjoyed halo infinite ( was my first one besides like playing at friends place ages ago on older Xbox’s ). The campaign was fun and exciting , great graphics and so smooth. Going from a One S to series X was completely eye opening for graphics , loading times lol it’s like going from final fantasy 7 to remake for me
Oh god your first halo was infinite I feel so sorry for you you got the worst of the bunch if that's what your happy with sorry to say but you have no taste and no standards of quality
I enjoy infinite the campaign was good but definitely needs dlc not the best in the series the others for the most bungie era ones were better but I’d say the gameplay is the best in the series they managed to create gameplay that satisfies og and new players for the most part and it runs well but the game launched very bare bones which really sucks and it’s been ridiculous waiting for new content those were just some thoughts I don’t feel like getting super deep into everything I like and dislike but as an og fan I feel it has the potential to be one of the best halo games but it’s really irritating I can’t say that already
Love my Series X. I came from a day 1 Xbox 1 so the jump was significant, however, that’s how I like to buy technology these days. That said, the lack of first party titles is noticeable to say the least, but I still feel like it’s a great value.
Tbh, xbox really feels like it is for gamers. This console has insane potential to be so much better right now and I love these features below: 1. Quick resume is really convenient 2. Controller is super comfortable 3. Gamepass saves so much money 4. Can enjoy all the Halo's again 5. Super quiet barely producing any heat 6. FPS Boost on older games 7. Overall more powerful system 8. Backwards compatible 9. Has an internet browser 10. Remote play games on your phone
Your missing out on the best feature: Emulation It literally has every ps1,ps2,n64,wii,etc games playable and upscaleable through dev mode not even PlayStation or nintendo can do that only xbox so for $20 bucks you can have $10,000+ dollars worth of games for completely free and in the best form you ever played
That’s a ok list of nothing important what about the exclusives? I don’t feel like playing old backwards compatibility games how about we do forwards compatibility tired of these companies and their bullshit practices You didn’t buy a new console you bought an upgrade of last generations consoles you’re gonna waste your money on some immolator shit that only allows you to play old games because companies aren’t making good exclusives for Xbox smh 🤦🏽♂️
Two Years!? That went over quickly and I don't even own that console as a PC gamer and always have been for the last 20-25 years. I can even remember when the original Xbox was released (November 2001) as my bro got one, the 360 came out (November 2005) and Xbox ONE (November 2013). Damn, I feel really old but I'll never give up games and will even play games with the grandkids, if I am capable and say to them 'Who wants destroyed on GangBeasts?' Only to be laughed at by them 😂
Love my Series X. I’ve never done anything to it, still works just as well as brand new. Lot of dust in the various holes and intakes though, so I’ll take it apart and I think it can go 2 years again without blinking. Love this box
Man two years. Time flies. Thanks for the info! I’m currently saving up for one so that way I can play Starfield and other advanced games(maybe an awesome superman game? One day folks. One day).
Build a PC mate, Starfield will be better on there with mods like all Bethesda games. Besides there's nothing on Xbox that ain't on PC day one.... and you can upgrade a PC.

@@RexMuffin I can yes. But its the fact that Microsoft released these intentionally with less than 500 gigs ready to use was obviously a scummy way to get more money. I get it paid for the smaller console but I’m sure they can fit a 1tb ssd even if it mean a higher cost
I want to wait but I've been using the base xbox one for 10 years now. I'm getting the series x on Christmas. Hopefully it will leave me happy for another 10 years.
Im telling you the Xbox series x is a big jump from the base Xbox one & S. I actually enjoy playing games now that it’s not stuttering and freezing every 30 secs. I just got mines not that to long ago and spent about 800$ for a whole new setup including the Xbox. I wanted to go all the way this time so I wouldn’t have any excuses to me dying lol. Have to say it’s worth it even tho there hasn’t been any games that have taken advantage of it.
Made the jump from a day one launch Xbox One, to a Series X a few months ago, and couldn't be more impressed. I rarely buy any games now with Gamepass having a massive library, that includes most of the games I want. Gamepass has been responsible for me finding many little gems that I never would have paid for before, but since they were included I downloaded them and am so glad I did. Also it's saved me a bunch of money of games I would have paid launch prices for, but quickly found out I didn't enjoy them at all, has probably saved me 10x over what I've ever paid for the sub fee. Also playing last gen games on the Series X, on the faster SSD, has been amazing. Most games are One X or Series X enhanced, but even those that aren't still play and look so good on the new hardware. I've basically forgotten load times, until I sat down on my roommate's One X to pick up a game I was playing, and got hit with the reminder 🤣. Also the newest generation of controllers are subtlety improved, but the difference is so much nicer. That's already saying a lot because the One family controllers were my favorite for any platform.
@@haunteddreams7856 It has an option shown at the bottom of the screen when the game is selected in the main menu. But using it, it still shows menus, and still takes longer to load than xbox quick resume. Would be great if they do a proper thing, not just half backed feature.
I have a Series X in my living room and a Series S in my office for when I’m…..totally focused on working at home… I love having both these consoles. While I wish there were more games exclusive to the new generation, I understand that it’s going to take longer to switch over to new generations completely. I love the backwards compatibility because it takes those older games and makes them look and run better than they’ve ever looked.
I just purchased it about 2 weeks ago and it def feels like a next gen console. I love the remote play on my PC and phone and the resume game feature is fantastic.
This is my one year anniversary with the XBox Series X. GamePass...without a doubt, is the best thing about XBox Series. I bought my console/bundle with the 2 year Ultimate sub. I have played so many games I would have had to pay out a minimum of $30-$60 each for. That equals about 3 new games for the price of a one year sub. Not to mention the older games in game pass library. Great titles there. I also have the PS5 and PC...with PC my choice format. I have had some sort of console since the Atari 2600, so I have seen a lot in a long period of time. But, this is just my observation.
been very happy with my series x the past two years, my only complaint is that the controller that came with my console had terrible stick drift after 2 months so i've been using my 6 year old xbone workhorse. Quick resume and game pass have been the biggest shining point with the overall performance and user experience being very strong as well. I'm happy with the investments Microsoft has been putting into xbox especially with how rocky the 8th generation was.
I've had the series x for about 18 months now and I've already played more games in that time than the majority of the Xbox one era. The series x is just so easy to use, its fast, and gamepass has allowed me to enjoy so many games I would never have paid for up front. Looking forward to a strong 2023.
Another gullible clown falling for an anti consumer practise Just think for 2 seconds other than its cheap think what it means what it represents the consumer has no say with gamepass the decision of where your money goes is no longer your own it's Xbox executives they decide what to put on there what gets funded , when we buy games ITS US BY DEFINITION GAMEPASS IS ANTI CONSUMER the only positive thing you can say is its cheap but it's cheap because you give up so much Don't be a 🤡 cancel gamepass
I was lucky enough to snag one at launch, for me, one of the biggest things is how fast the series x is. Load times, start up, and even just navigating through the menus is so fast. Would love a UI update but no complaints! Love this console and can’t wait for what’s to come this next year.

Going forward I feel like PC is the ultimate way to play with consoles being the consumer friendly way of playing games. Can't wait though to be able to see how the gaming hardware landscape changes even more in the future.
@SlaveLaboringKid old gen consoles came out 9 ears ago, you can play all AAA games for a decade with a console that cost's 300... how much would pc that could do same cost?
As a struggling father of 2 the xbox series s saved us it so affordable and just strongly enough to play those next gen games which both my boys love. Xbox over playstation anyday
I got my series x back in April it was pretty easy to get just walked into the local GameStop and they had them. These last two years have been a roller coaster ride of life but they also flew by
Throughout my life i always waited a year or two to get the new consoles becuase i was cheap. But with the series X i decided to reward myself for my recent accomplishments in life so i bought it the first week off eBay for a ridiculous price . So far , no regrets whatsoever . Great console , fast loading , plenty of space . Plus it looks cool next to my tv .
PS5 player here, just got the Series S, absolutely love it. Finding other people to play online is sooooo easy and the friends and family share option is killer. I've been on PSN since the PS1, switching to Xbox now.
i’ve had it since the first december it came out and i’ve loved every second of it, my buddies got ps5 and was always a playstation guy but i couldn’t be more happier making the jump over, but when i play the ps5 it brings back a lot of nostalgia
Just got mine two weeks ago so I'm so stoked to play Halo 6 n gears 5. No internet here so it's a long set up process but eager to play. Can't wait for series x/s exclusive games. Get that feeling reminiscent of Ole skool xb360 days. Halo3 n gears1 for the first time.
Recently I just now got the next gen and I don''t have much to say, it seems the same in many ways, but what I do have to say is how some games known to be unstable are basically fixed, even the infamous Civilization 6 works smooth as butter now, I say its a huge step-up and I'm excited for whats to come in the future.
It’s been 2 years and this is the saddest console cycle for both companies mean the grass might be a little greener on the playstaion side but still very underwhelming from both companies I expected way more from them and it’s been 2 years now so I can say that with confidence
Word! Can't understand the amount of unfounded hype they are putting in these companies. Most of them (zoomers) probably never experienced the 6th generation.
i've had the series X since December 2020, I managed to get it through Amazon Italy! Unfortunately, a lot of the graphical gains are bottlenecked/restricted by the specs of your TV, but what has been game changing (pun intended) is the quick resume function, the console loads extremly fast anyway, then you can immediately continue where you let off even without saving! It doesn't sound like much but you really notice it, and for anyone that is upgrading from something that had a power brick, having just the xbox and cables looks a lot tidier. Hope this helps people considering the jump
If you have the option, I highly recommend getting a monitor so you can play 1440 at 120fps or 4k at 60fps. The jump from a TV to a nice monitor was huge for me
Just wanna shoutout gamepass for introducing me to Return to Monkey Island recently. I would've never played it if it wasn't on gamepass for me to try out. It 's completely out of the realm of games I would usually play and so far It's hilarious and I love it. Gamepass has introduced me to so many new games and game genres I would've never tried it's insane. It brings me back to my childhood when my parents would let me rent a random game from Blockbuster every week and I would discover all these amazing games.
@@Quazzi gamepass, opening your eyes to a whole new gaming world. I've had the same experience, I've played many titles I would've never bought or played and I don't regret any moment.
I'm pretty happy with it even with owning the PS5 too! I prefer buying my general games for the PlayStation but I love the past and present exclusives for Xbox and I'm excited for some like Starfield. Of course I shot for the Series X, because the I don't like the performance hit you take with the Series S and the lack of a disk drive. Overall, both are great consoles, but the PS5 feels just a little more "next-gen"
Same for me, low expectations for Xbox games though. Starfield looked rough to me and even then it's pretty much stuff we already played before. Hopefully the story and world building will be worth the wait but I'll play it on PC GamePass hoping for as many mods as possible to get it in steam when it's 50% off or more.
isnt the xbox already truly next gen with same controllers? a lot of xbox fanbois kept saying it lol n still do n say there eating real good n its enough games 🤣
Quick resume is the best feature, the fact that I’ve left a game unplayed for weeks and comeback to it and quick resume still works(only I play like 2 games)
In my area, Xbox was never in shortage. I could just walk in the closest hypermarket and could come out with both Xbox Series X and S. Whereas for playstation; boy, was it complicated. It never came on stock. The list of people in waiting for Playstation 5, who had pre-ordered back when it released, never ended. It was december 2021 when it actually came to the shelves, and now you can get it but only in specific gadget stores that too its a 50-50 situation.
It’s been about 2 years and I just was able to get one in august but I love it. The only thing Microsoft could do better is make the SSD storage expansion cheaper.
Was a PS4 user then I've got Xbox series X in June 2022, the first thing that surprised me was the store prices! Then the fact that you can easily change the country in settings without any restrictions. A lot freedom! And after that I bought game pass... compared to "garbage" (rarely smth decent) games that we were given on playstation it was just amazing! Overall Never regretted my purchase. Btw i still love my old PS4 ♥️ unkillable console.
I love my series x and I love gamepass. Cloud gaming has been especially mind blowing, I’ve been able to stream gunfire reborn over Wi-Fi, playing with friends using my iPad and it’s sick. Just bring iPad, controller and have a semi decent Wi-Fi connection and you’ve got a viable gaming set up with access to tons of games. Crazy for affordability and portability.
The backwards compatibility should've got a mention. I now own a lot of physical Xbox 360 games that I missed first time around and they work, just pop in and play and the graphics and loading speeds are obviously a lot better. Got to play Red Dead Redemption 1, Sleeping Dogs, and the MGS HD Collection (for MGS 3, which i missed). Great machine.

I started out with the Series S back in December of 2020 and really enjoyed the experience and decided to move up Series X this year to take advantage of my 4k TV. Have really been enjoying the beefier specs and ended up selling my Series S to a friend after his original PS4 crapped out on him.
@@AhmedEx1. I notice a difference between the Native 4k of the X vs Upscaling by the S but games still looked great on the S. Performance wise the S does a good job of keeping up with the X but for example modern warfare 2 seemed to run a little smoother and looked a little better on my X compared to my friends S. The X having the disc drive was another reason I upgraded because I have over 20 disc games I’d like to play again instead of rebuying digitally. Both are good systems just kinda depends on your needs.
I switched over to the Series X late last year after the release of Halo Infinite. Even tho Infinite has completely sucked, Gamepass has provided me with more fun in 1 year than Sony did in 5 when I got my PS4/PS5 in 2017 and 2020. It’s given me the ability to try out new games that I’d never think about trying including Sea of Thieves and several indie games. I absolutely love how the community features are still present in the dashboard. When Sony got rid of them I was heartbroken because I’d always share my best clips on there. Achievements are so easy to find and I love the little competition scoreboard they have with you and your friends’ achievements, it feels like the build of the dashboard is still integrated for gamers and not streaming, the complete opposite of what Sony has shifted over to. It still feels like there’s a sense of community with this platform and that’s what’s drawn me back in. The series X has been pretty good to me.
I finally just got a series X yesterday. This will be the first generation I've gone with xbox rather than playstation. I was a little worried about finding things to play since I gravitate toward Sony IP, but gamepass is incredible. A day in and I already have a huge backlog.
Still waiting for next generation of games to start. Literally no Series X exclusive games and the ones that are don't even tap into the full potential at all.
Nothing will use the Xbox X full potential until Microsoft drops the Rule that games must run on the Underpowered Series S. If a game can run on the series S then it will NOT maximize the Series X hardware.
@@haunteddreams7856 When you are actively developing a game for consoles, you typically begin with your least powerful machine and scale up. If you do this backwards, you are largely ensuring that your game will run poorly or not at all on the less powerful machines. So, while I can’t say this definitively-it does make sense that the Series S could in some way hinder the Series X, because games must run optimally on both consoles.
I haven't been too big on XBox consoles, but I'm thinking about getting the Series S to put next to my PS5. I've been off and on getting into PC with my gaming laptop, but console gaming is just more comfortable to me. I play more on console than PC, but I feel like PC gaming compliments console gaming very well.
Series S is so weak, on a 4K TV you'll hate the framerates and resolution, if you have a PS5 stick to it, unless you want to see ADS on your dashboard.
