IT DID HELP .. I HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM AND I CHANGED THE WIRE UPSIDE DOWN AND IT STOPED. THEN TODAYS I OOK ON MY X AND I C MY FAN ON IV BEEN ON MY PC FOR WEEEKS AND DIDDENT KNOW IT WAS RUNNING, SO I RAN INTO THIS VID AND IT HELPED MINE STOP AND STAREDS TO I START IT. The thing is that it's not just the fan randomly coming on to cool down the xbox... It's as if the xbox is randomly turning itself on but in a shadow power mode. My xbox hadnt been turned on In a day and then All of sudden te fans turn on sounding exactly like the xbox turning on. My external hardrive indicates that the power is on and it is also indicates that it's communicating with the internal hardrive. So Are they just farming data?

yeah thank you for the tutorial to help me have the fan go on because last night when I left I turned it off from my controller and when I got home it was spinning for some reason and usually they say it's just like an actual computer it'll stay on a low-power setting like very low I did that system shutdown you did and it worked it's completely stopped spinning because that helps the fan from not getting so dirty and then when you turn it back on it'll blow the shit back in the air part of my language so it worked I mean sometimes it stays on anyways when you're trying to load a game or there's a upload it stays on no matter what that's how the game system was made if you're uploading something that fan has to be going on or if you get an update it'll go on so that could have been my problem I could have been having an update but it wasn't really hot when I came home it was not even lukewarm it was just like a small Breeze when the fan was on so I did what you told me an Xbox says if it was on it's on a low setting so it won't cause damage or electrical problems or problems to the system overheating because apparently they did have the game on for over 2 weeks and nothing happened to it and they didn't even longer that's why these game systems take so long to come out because they go through a lot of Trials so I appreciate your video thank you and thanks for fixing my issue I didn't have to put in on instant on it's always on instant on I guess that's how the Xbox series X works. like you had a choice to put it on energy-saving and instant on mine automatically does instant on it may be because of the first batch or different from the second batch that were ever made don't really know but your video helped very much thank you

I noticed mine does background updates even in Energy-Saving mode. I've been covering the top with a small piece of paper while the Console is off, to make sure nothing falls into the vent. Every now and then I'd look over and the paper would be off centered like the fan kicked on at some point. I actually caught it happen, my Console silently boots up (no light or indication that it's on) and goes through a cycle like it's updating in the background. My Xbox One never did that in Energy-saving mode, I always thought it was an Instant On feature only, but apparently not with the Series X.

The fan usually is suppose to keep spinning after you turn it off since it has quick resume meaning there are still games running in the background

I don't think it's a software issue when they give you an option to shutdown. By default with instant-on it will keep the fan spinning.

I fixed mine. Haven't played it for over a month. Walked by it and noticed the fan was running again.

This may seem weird but I woke up in the middle of the night to my x box fan going and soft humming noise coming from it I have mine in energy saving mode and there was no light on my console to indicate it was turned on Is this normal ?

you can't turn this thing completely off .. 😳 what is going on. Its connected all the time, even if i do the settings and turn the device off i still see my internet data being active. I can see my internet Data traffic in use on my app! Wow Microsoft

Well the first time I've done this the fan complete you know usually I just unplug the system to make it shut off but if this works I'll just use this option I'll see how it works and I'll let you know I have this problem with his fan being on well my Xbox is off will i shut it fully off an thank you his problem since day one that got in my Xbox on my birthday last year let's hope it continues to work

I'm confused here and need help my series x i switched it to powersaving mode option and after i do simple turn off from controler the fan still running for 2 min then stop and sometimes won't stop running for hours when that happen I turn on the console again and do a full shut down to stop the fan .. Any explation here

It is always running because you have system set on standby and doing that will damage it in the long run! That is very bad you could have simply clicked settings and gone to power and start-up and changed it from standby to energy saver then your system would actually be off if you do not you will waste 40 to 80% of your systems life span and can lead to you waking up one morning possibly tomorrow to a system that can never be repaired thanks to enough individual waking up at the time of that update and turning on a light in the middle of the night causing a micro outage during your update!. NOTE: Energy saver is a strongly recommended setting for the longevity of your system PS your system should never be upright it should be on its side legs or you will be sorry for several reasons that will kill or seriously damage your system.

So I left mine in stand by mode the first night I got it. The next morning the fan stopped working and it would overheat after 2 min of gaming. Waiting on MS to revive it for service

You can also do a power down by holding the Xsx on button for about 10 seconds it does the same thing

Sometimes when instant on and the fan is still running just restart the console and it will be off after that and still on instant on.

When I put my Xbox into standby the fan runs for like 20 secs then turns off but if I start installing a game before I put it into standby it runs until the update is done.
