This worked for me when my games and apps on both my external and internal would not start. If your problem doesn't fall under any hard drive problems, try a cold reset or change your power settings.
@@shaggy4442 I didn't reformat it like he said I just went out and brought a new Xbox X.. But what he said, it does makes sense. You just going to have to reinstall all your games but where you left off, it will still be in the clouds.
This also works if you have an external hard drive that is saying a certain percentage of the storage is used but also saying there are no games on the external hard drive. Fixed my problem.
This is the only thing that actually worked for me, I did it before watching the video, but I can confirm it works, it's gonna be a pain re-downloading and re-installing a shitload of games but I'm glad my Xbox is working fine again.
THIS RIGHT HERE. This shit ACTUALLY WORKED!! I got an Xbox One X, and it wouldn't recognize my WD's so I uninstalled EVERYTHING on Internal, and BOOM, after a reset of the console, it prompts me to format!!
I have some info that may be useful. This is not a “fix” for the hd. But you can easily open the case and inside is a standard hdd with a small board attached to the top, this is where the cable plugs in.I popped the small board out with a flat screwdriver and put it on an old ps4 hard drive I have ( toshiba hdd) connected to the Xbox one and was able to format it just the same as when I first got the sea gate. Swap the screws on the side and you can put it back in the case your sea gate came in.
My started being samething. My wireless controller won't work when the hard drive started actn up. Had to unplug it and plug in controller b4 the controller wld work again and no hardrive will work on the Xbox afterward.
@@hatespeechisntreal hey man, did you ever find a solution to this? I just experienced that same problem tonight and the help would be greatly appreciated.
This currently happens to me. All my other games work, on my external and internal hard drive. But when I try and play Halo 5, I click the game and it slows my Xbox down and lags it. Loads for a couple seconds, then exits the game completely.
My HDD worked for 30 minutes and was quietly playing the game, when I connected Go to the Internet to download games from my account, it disappeared, xbox one doesn’t see it, it just doesn’t see it and that’s all what to do?
I just had this happen and it wont even let me reformat or remove, copy anything. I have the option. I select the option and the spin icon just pops up forever
I have a Xbox one s and every time I try to get on I always have to hard reset it and when I do it says preparing console and it would complete and go on update it would go half way the stop and say something
I had only had it for 1 day and 1 play session. The next day turned it on and attempted to play. It told me every download was stopping due to playing. So then i tried to restart downloads etc but nothing seamed to work. Then the issue started when i restarted console. And sync button on xbox didnt work with hardrive in and no internet it shows then no external drive. Plug it in after console is on and remote works with internet showing but wont let me do anything as far as move, copy, play, delete etc
i get the use a different usb port or try a different cable when i try to play games on the external hard drive. i see my games, i see all the save data and but i do not get your external hard drive is ready message and before this happened my friend accidently messed with the cable
How can you reformat your hard drive if the external isn’t even being read by the Xbox? Mine swept everything off my system and I’ve unplugged it. Factory reset everything and still
My problem is that it’s plugged it and it’s on but it’s not giving me the notification that it’s connected if you know any solution to my problem plz tell me
so my storage box doesn’t turn on when i turn on my xbox. like the storage box starts working but the light on it doesn’t turn on and i lost most of the games cuz it was on the storage. and i have my storage box to turn on when my xbox turns on or when i turn it off they both turn off. does anyone know how to fix this please?
If you hard drive is on but the little light isn't, you're going to have to either open it up and hopefully find a way to fix it that way. But if you don't know anything about that then it's best to buy a new one man.
Wait so if I format my hard drive will it save my progress for instants if you have.a skin on fortnite could I just redownload my game and then log in to my account?
They no way my internal will hold all that contain,, that's why I brought a 1 TB hard drive to store a lot of games, now if I reformat, I'm going to lose everything,, That's a big waste of time to start all them games over again from the beginning. Seagate need to be Sued.. I almost blame Xbox for losing my content.
@@empire7179 got a seagate as well. Mad as hell right now because it looks like I'm going to have to reformat this damn thing and reinstall 70 plus games.😤😡
@@D2dshnm It's a good thing I didn't have that many games so I just when to my Xbox hard drive and I reinstall some of my favorite games and all the save content in those games came back but it not that many games you can install on that drive. But I know how upset you are. You just wanted to reach out to anybody with this problem
you got the same as his? that's what just happen to my seagate. it might've stopped working apparently it was normal in some other guys video for them to break after a year or two internally
The light on my hard drive won't come on. An I have a new chord it spins an makes noise but I don't know what to do besides buy a new one I can't seem to update drivers or format it because it won't read on my Xbox one I'm trying on a lap top to format as a last resort
I know you comment a year ago but my hard drive is having the same problems your did, it will not light up no more. Did you ever fit your problem? And it so,, how did you do it. Please help if you can.
If you connected the hard disk on the console and dosent see all your games in them is because is broken but you don't loose nothing if you have game tag is save on the Microsoft cloud if you own the Game on disk or digital games is there all you have to do is transfer to another hard drive insert the disk down load again with a new hard drive and will work or download the game again if is digital
@@hectorochoa8109 You know I have Seagate and them thing are $60 a pop for 1 TB,, I think they running a scam,, They need to be sued!! You see I'm not computer savvy like you are, I don't even know if I have a game tag, plus I don't see any of my game it's not being recognized buy my Xbox One. I'm going to try what you said and I really appreciate you replying to my complaint about this issue but if you can hit me back about this game tag thing that would be really appreciated.. Again I want to thank you for your assistance.. Peace to you and your family, P.S Seagate need to pay you a consultant fee.
Bro these things are absolute bs just got the hard drive been downloading games for 2/3 days straight and now randomly out of nowhere the light decided to turn off? Wtf so I have to sit there for another week downloading games now... Fcking pissed
