The BWF World Championships is held every year except for the year of an Olympic Games. It is a showcase of the very best in the sport and it determines who are the World Champions in each of the five disciplines, men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
The first World Championships was hosted in Malmo Sweden in 1977, and the Championship was held every three years until 1983, after which, it became a biennial event until 2003. Since 2005 however, the BWF World Championships has become an annual tournament.

So sad that this is a R16 match at the WC - Deserving of being a SF or a F. Easily one of the best XD matches of 2018: Great rallies, good flat game, great work at the net and female players that can also play from the back. Watanabe/Higashino are personally my favorite XD pair, so I wish them the best for the future.

I am Chinese, but I always loved the way Arisa played! She's too eager in the second game when it was 17-19 and serving, lost a crucial, crucial point with an error and the game, what a pity!

24:10 The Chinese coach was suggesting HUANG Dongping to "try and drop", which is what I was thinking also. Because if Yuta didn't make the error, the Chinese would be on defense for a while.

i can tell u now, this japanese lady is the best mix double female player currently, she is as good as the older indonisian player---lilyanna, able to handle extreme pressure at the net, smart position judgement, pound the shuttle down heavily at the net, absolutely a copy of ----lee yongdae
