Xena FINALLY says good bye to Callisto and returns to her old self - much to Gabrielle's relief...
From Xena Warrior Princess Season 2 Episode 8, "Ten Little Warlords": Joxer delivers a letter to Xena, who is still in Callisto's body, telling her that ten of the greatest warriors are being challenged by Sisyphus to slay a monster known as the Barrachus. The reward is Ares' divinity. Meanwhile, Earth is beginning to lose all sanity, as a result of the lack of a Deity of War.

The Callisto actress is amazing to be able to accurately imitate Lucy Lawless voice and mannerisms, why dont they make shows of this caliber anymore?!

Hudson did an amazing Xena!! Also I love how you can see justice in the eyes of Hudson as Xena, yet you can see that deranged gleefully evil and yet hopeless look in her eyes when she’s Calliston it’s insane!!!

In the later episodes it's been pointed out there's a scene where her daughter is lying on the beach and Lucy actually noticed the actress playing her daughter has a noose round her neck which is attached to the horses saddle and the horse could bolt at any second so Lucy lawless is actually running down to try and get the rope of the neck before the horse bolts they left it in. Amazing woman.

It was old footage and a body double when she gets it back. When you see her hair blowing in the wind, that footage was from season one, you only see the back of her walking (which was a double)

Lucy was fortunately well enough after missing a few episodes. So keeping Xena in Callisto’s body wouldn’t be necessary. Also, Hercules and Xena have had to reuse sets, stock footage, and various props in order to keep the production value within a certain budget. With that in mind, they would’ve had to pay Hudson along with Lucy since she’s the star of the show and gets a guaranteed paycheck whether she appears in an episode or not. That’s not financially wise.

So this is farewell to good Callisto. Would have liked to see Hudson continue as Xena for a few more episodes before she gets her body back. This would have also helped Callisto get her own path of redemption and perhaps get a slight spinoff.

I loved her as Xena! (Xena in Callisto’s body.) I wish it was longer than three episodes. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do like the idea of Callisto going on a journey of redemption along side Gabrielle. Did they ever explain why Ares lost his Godhood when his sword was stolen?

His Sword is in some way connected to him and his powers, since he is the God of war. It was specifically made for him, by his brother hephestus.

Ares did keep his bond to his word that he’ll restore Xena back to her body but he didn’t do it immediately nor say when. He had unfinished business with Hades after Sisyphus escaped from the Underworld and stole his sword, resulting in this whole mess of innocent ppl turning violent. As God of War, he need to restore order to the world first before taking care of personal matters.

I’m so mad that the creators completely lost the chance of doing a reboot. All the original actors are too old now. 😢 So much material to go through, so much to tell. The series is so popular and huge; audiences loved this. Why let it go!!!? 😭

The actors aren't past it at all. Lucy and Renee are still healthy and look great. I just wouldn't trust the writing of a revival today if it wasn't an original series writer working on it.

For better or for worse, I enjoyed Xena for what it was. I don’t think it needs a reboot. I’d rather see more original programming.
