God sorry I can't remember how that worked now (I've since sold this car). I remember it being a bit fiddly but if u persist I'm sure uo locate the problem. Just don't force it haha. Sorry I can't be more help.
First put in the lamp, check that it is seated properly. Then insert ignitor, check that it aligns with the holes and it is somewhat upwards, that when you twist it it would be up. Lastly you can connect the wire
Mine ended up a slightly different colour (which seemed brighter) but you need to check whats legal etc. I can't remember now but getting legal colour / temperature was a concern of mine at the time. Hope u get sorted.
I may be wrong here and someone will no doubt correct me if I am but I'm pretty sure that's the bulb for main beam / full beam in behind that round silver thing with the blue wires coming out of it.
The clip that pushed out the plug. I pushed it back into place with a screwdriver (it was preventing me from plugging the connector back in). Will that prevent me from twisting the silver box back into place?
From memory as you twist it the clip pushes out the plug (that's how it's supposed to come apart). I put it back together the same way. Although you prob shouldn't push it out of the way the way you did, I cant see how that will prevent it going back together. The clip will probably reset as you twist the silver box on and off (unless its broken) as the mechanism will react to the twisting motion. You could try to twist it on and off a few times to see if it resets and if not just go ahead and put it back together as best you can and hope for the best.
It depends on what headlight you have. I think some e60 headlights are halogen and some arnt. Best to take the old bulbs out and see what type they are before replacing them. That's how I figured it out.
