One comment about 35:06 This seems to be a classic example of dialogue adjustment for the dub to match the character's lip flaps. You see, in the original Japanese, Shion calls Jr. "Junior-kun" (I guess I don't need to explain what "kun" means here?). And in the anime, Shion introduces a pause in between the name and the honorific, which is a pretty common pattern in Japanese anime voice acting to convey doubt or confusion. In the game this doesn't happen, as far as I remember. And even if it did, the camera doesn't show Shion's mouth while she says it (that part I do remember from the English dub). This creates a conundrum for the dub team, since they need to account for the two instances of lip movement somehow. This is something that happens all the time when translating Japanese visual media, specially for dubs, and it takes a skilled translator and editor to make it work (this is not something that's up to the actor). In this case... well, it's not exactly an elegant solution, but I've heard worse.
I just wanted to let you know that your in-depth Xenosaga stuff is all amazing. I wouldn’t even wanna guess how many times I’ve laid down to unwind at night and just listened to your lore videos, waking up at my alarm the next morning with a phone on 10% still deep into the playlist. Infinite kudos sir!
@@LoadingGears Thanks for responding! That's the cool plart of youtube. Viewers and creators get to actually communicate. I've watched your whole Xenosaga series twice and I plan on watching it all over again. It's my favorite and doesn't get enough love. I'm sooo happy that you took the time to go into it like you did. Thank you so much. Wish I could give you more support than words. Someday!
