As I was unable to release the Boot / Trunk I had no option but to take it to a Jaguar dealer. My hope was that as it was a significant fault that JLR might be willing to support the repair, they did not.
What I was not expecting was the dealership ripping me off by charging me for the additional 2hrs of work to replace and fit the lock. As the wiring loom and lock had to have been removed to sort out and diagnose the issue (aka the £155 initial fee), I'm not sure how it could take 2 hrs to fit the parts back in.
