How Simon handled them and the emotional maturity these girls had is just amazing...so much respect for their culture their approach...just incredible human beings!
I always tell people when they start the documentary that just because a trainee isn't part of the final lineup don't mean there not important to who XG is now.
I friend of mine in Korea who had introduced me to XG shortly after they debuted, had mentioned that apparently MASCARA had originally been produced before Tippy Toes, but that it needed to be redone because it had been choreographed with more members. He had also told me that Hikaru had been a trainee pre-debut, so I had sort of assumed it had been her maybe. The shocking thing for me though was that I had seen Airi perform when I was living in Tokyo, so it wasn’t until I saw the documentary that I was like “Wait!? This is the same Airi? She trained w/XG too!?” NGL, it kinda hurts to see 8-member choreo for MASCARA and other pre-debut routines knowing what’s ultimately going to happen. Anyway: The part where the lady is asking the girls if they studying Korean, they reply in Japanese. As for Rei, her cell got knocked out early on in Girls Planet.
Just so you know... Rei kept fighting though even after Girls Planet 999. Rei tried out for Jackson Wang's girl group GEN1ES through the survival program CHUANG ASIA THAILAND. Unfortunately she did not make it. I hope Rei eventually makes her Debut, imo she deserves it.
