Happy that you're finally reacting to the documentary! It's definately more than 2 episodes. They have been posting them every two weeks, so episode 3 should be coming out this week(although they usually come out on Tuesdays, so hmmm....). Also, the one trainee, Hikaru, she's currently a member of Kep1er. As about the ambition thing, yeah, I hear what you're saying but at the end of the day, it's a record label, not a nonprofit. So, the goal at the end of the day is to have your artists being successful so the label can make money(this also depends on the kind of record label. Some indie labels may have different goals) and stay in business. As for Simon, he seems cool so far. Like you said, he hasn't been harsh so far and he seems to care for the girls. Also, XG just did their first festival, 88rising's Head in the Clouds over the weekend in NY and they killed it! There's a bunch of videos from their set on YT if you want to check it out.
So from my interpretation with the bathroom selfie thing, I think what he was saying is that say if a trainee/early idol says they are working hard, and then they started posting many selfies in the bathroom. What that says to the general public who just started checking them out is that they're not really working hard as they claim and they might be slacking off or just saying it to gain more eyes on them while is dishonest.
It also helps to remember his career in Korea was killed by another member being an idiot. I think he was demonstrating that a selfish mistake can kill the group.
The more I watch of Simon, the more my respect for him grows. Like seeing how he interacts with the girls (the current line up we got now), and the fact we get to see this predebut stuff which not many companies can do, it's not perfect as you said, but imo Simon and XGALZ seem to be "better" than other Kpop companies. I also like how he's a former idol himself so he got that knowledge and experience
It is normal she doesn’t know about avex but I’m sure their parents were the more excited to know their daughters are part of this big project and under the management of a traditional Japanese company 😂
