"Kpop fans don't fuck with songs like this", truer words have never been spoken. Plus Koreans aren't fucking with them because they're Japanese. I need them on a more global scale where they will be appreciated!
Juria does a great cover of iu's dear name, definitely worth a listen, this is my favorite song by them and I really like the 90's r&b fad happening over there right now
I'm pretty sure XG will do promotions in US and other countries after they're done with Korea music shows. However, they already did interviews with international publications. Also, it's a long shot, but I hope XG will get a Grammy nomination too.
Kpop will be on an up roar😂. However it maybe possible as Japan has a strong political and business relationship with America than Korea. Their label is also based in US so its clear their target is America.
@@rue3725 Their company also have connections with American labels distributing for Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and other western artist for Japan and Taiwan markets.
XG is giving me Aaliyah vibes R.I.L "Are you that somebody".. XG is oozing talent vocally, musically, dancing and their style is next level. I hope they keep that late 90s early 2000s R&B and Hiphop vibe!
LOL you finally made shooting star your intro!!! loved the reaction as always, these girls voices are smooooooth!!!! if you wanna hear more of their vocals they have some clips on their youtube channel
Chisa has a cover of Nobody love by tori kelly on their channel as well as a duo performance of Peaches by JB with Juria both are a must watch in fact all of their covers and special videos are a must watch because this group is that good
When he said kpop fans don't F with this...I'm with you on that..Their ears will irritate, not use to listen to some amazing music like this..XG always comes through.
Uhm wtf 🤣 I'm a K-pop fan and I love this, I liked the 2nd gen K-pop style and I'm getting more into K-pop again thanks to NewJeans, Le sserafim and XG cuz they're finally changing the game.
@@sevenbelledays7800 We were talking about in general 😂..Fans that are used to the kpop tone are gonna have a hard time getting into this type of 90's 2000's R&B..Trust me i seen a bunch of reactors who reacts to kpop who weren't feeling this XG vibes.
The XG vocal line, tho…. Angels. And the choreo in the live stage for this song was as smooth as the vocals on this. SM tier vocals and throwback TLC vibes… ❤❤❤
Literally been waiting for your reaction to this song! It’s definitely my favourite song!! The performance is immaculate!! Lol the part when you said they’re NCT girl version I actually imagined an NCT U version in my head
Well they are marketed as a GLOBAL GIRL GROUP. So technically they are not kpop nor jpop. That’s what makes this group awesome and unique. The vocalists in this group has a vox tape on their channel. Check them out
"kpop fans don't fw stuff like this" facts It's why sm of SM groups' bsides go unnoticed in the community LOL imo (I know other non sm groups got songs like this, it's just an example) This kind of music is what I listen to on a daily, nothing beats this.
so happy you mentioned them being similar to nct bc thats what i feel as well especially watching them live. they have big presence and energy and do different concepts sooo well. they also have great rappers and dancers!
Bruh I’m legit all over RU-vid tryna tell peeps that XG isn’t Kpop or Jpop - this is a straight up hip-hop/R&B group that just happens to be from Japan. They doing interviews talking about how they grew up listening to Lauryn Hill, TLC, and MJ and I believe it 100%. The video they shot for Left Right is just as smooth as you think it is too. If you liked Juria & Chisa’s flow here then it’s worth checking out the cover of “Peaches” they did - soulful stuff imo
Actually there are XG VOX #2 which is a solo cover of Chisa and XG VOX #1 a cover duet with Chisa and Juria of Peaches This is like XG TAPE but instead of rapline for the vocal line. You should check it out!
Behind the scenes: CEO of XGALX (Korea based sub-label of Japanese music conglomerate Avex, $400 million company) is named Simon (Produces under name "Jakops", 36 years old) is the visionary behind this group, and the hands on producer of everything about them. They largely reflect his life experience as a Half-Japanese, Half-Korean born in the US, and a former Rapper in the 2nd generation Kpop Boy Group called Dalmation (later called DMTN). So his vision was to create a global Girl Group. He selected all Japanese from Avex's training pod, and trained them there for 4 years, then moved them to Korea, to leverage the Kpop infrastructure that has gone global, whereas Japan's music market is largely closed due to draconian music rights/broadcast/IP laws that limit global exposure to international markets. Plus the Jpop market for the last 10 years has been dominated by large GGs with a young, "Cute" concept teens by the likes of AKB48 (48 member GG!). So the decision was to sing only in English to maximize access to the global market, use Japanese girls (Japan is the 2nd largest music market after USA) and become fluent in Korean and use their music shows and production talent to create videos and content, and target a more global Retro 90s, Y2k Hip-Hop and R&B vibe concept in the music, only sung in English. So TLC, Destiny's Child, Lauryn Hill, Ciara, others in that space are inspirations and the target concept for their music. And now they are doing it. Most recent #4 single "Left Right", is getting top 40 music play on American radio stations, and they have done half a dozen interviews with US radio stations recently. Left Right was recently remixed as a 1 minute teaser at Coachella, at the global star' Jackson Wang's (from Hong Kong, rapper, singer, fluent in English, Korean and Chinese, member of Kpop BG GOT7 for 7+ years) live stage, where he surprised everyone with CIARA (Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson's main squeeze, and 90s R&B legend) singing live on stage with him (their new single Collab is called "Slow", Fire R&B!) and XG's "Left Right" MV was playing on the big screen behind them! as a Remix by Jakops specifically for Jackson and Ciara is being sung by them, while they tell the audience to Heads Up to the screen featuring XG! Total strategic coup! They about to blow up, as they go to KCON Japan May 13 (with 20 other Kpop groups like Ateez, TheBoyz, Itzy, BoysPlanet, Le Sserafim, Viviz, more) , and Head in the Clouds New York May 21 (also with Itzy there, Milli, more). I expect the full Ciara/Jackson remix to be released by HITC in May, perhaps with live performances, and perhaps live performance of the Shooting Star Remix also by Jakops, with Rico Nasty, the Puerto Rican American performer. I also expect that they may do some Radio, TV, and interviews while in NY and Japan.
The thing is - early Korean music was heavy on R&B. It was the dominant style in Korea. Especially SM entertainment songs always been mostly R&B. Then in the mid 2000s Hiphop and experimental music started take the audience more. My point that South Korea is not distant to this style. Old fans definitely are vibing with this.
You really changed your intro song! I guess they deserve the spot 😄 Juria is the one with the soft and sweet voice she sang XG VOX 3 Chisa has more powerful and sharper voic, for her performance search XG VOX 2 For both of them check XG VOX 1, featuring Peaches by Bieber
absolutely blown away by that comparison to XG being NCT girls -- their 90s/00s R&B style has me massively crushing on XG same way I felt being run over by them golden NCT B-sides! and the Taeil/Doyoung and Juria/Chisa vocal volleying plus the Harvey / Mark rapping with it is what I love and live to hear so they better keep 'em coming! i'm not even into girl groups but XG changed my mind, I say ULT-worthy for sure!
There is a performance video of this and it slays!! I think they are making me love Girl Group again and I haven't had a GG that I really like since Little Mix. I hope they get a promo internationally they are so talented.
yes, they is Hip Hop/R&B girls group not kpop. producer SIMON said "X-pop". lol i think HINATA's voice is suitable for R&B. anyway good reaction thank you. XG🔥
Bro, chisa is at least as good as juria. It's just that juria has a much sweeter voice than hers so juria is more appropriate to hit most of the money notes for this comeback. Last comeback though, i think chisa had more lines.
The song was written by Chancellor and their main producer, Simon. Two Koreans from the west coast. Today Juria and Chisa dropped a cover of "Ur Best Friend" by Kiana Lede and Kehlani
So from the first episode of their docuseries “Xtra Xtra” that is dropping on their RU-vid channel, Simon, their producer and CEO of XGALX, said they have struggled with wether they are to be considered K-pop or J-pop, and he later went on to refer to their music as X-pop. That their goal is to pave a new direction as global artists that aren’t confined to the traditional genres assigned by the current industry
XG will make it big. Its inevitable. They obviously love 90’s rnb and rnb in general. They really listen to that old school stuff. I’m not comparing them to BTS, but BTS started as a rap boyband and cite old school rappers like Nas, Snoop dogg, Tupac, Warran G as inspiration. Eventually, the world caught on and now they’re big. And now they’re turning more pop than rap and their songs sound more US radio friendly. XG on the other hand, ARE ALREADY sounding US radio friendly. And they are all so talented in dance and vocals and rap. I love the rnb style. They’re gonna be the next big thing. I hope they dont lose their sound
They’ve been having ops since they debuted people dislike them because they’re not specifically a K-pop group but an international group. These girls respect Hip-Hop and RnB, and have been getting attacked for cultural appropriation but in actuality it’s appreciation. Also one of the main Lyricist and Writer for a lot of their work is Legendary Patrick “J. Que” Smith he’s worked with so many RnB and Hip-Hop artists since the 90s and 2000s.
5:05 please don't ever disrespect girl groups like that again :") /jk All jokes aside, girl groups have always slayed these kind of RnB songs since a while back. XG isn't Kpop but taking Kpop's example here. They've kind of perfected it in every gen.

@DezzyMarch to answer your question what they are trying to do with this music. My wild guess they aiming at Blackpink's crown :)
Their Executive Producer Simon is a millennial Korean-Japanese-American raised in Seattle Washington. Now that the older song writers in kpop are retiring, its time for us 90s babys to take over lol
Why do people keep saying Left Right is better? Not saying its bad cuz I love them both, but I guess this is a case of I just want everybody to like my favorite song (Shooting Star) better XD LOL
