Poor Zhan! Such a good actor, but cannot hide his love and weakness for Yibo in front of the interviewers. If one gets so nervous, and stammers at every point, even a baby will understand it all. Yibo on the other hand often adopts a Lan Wangji type " attitude", makes a grave face and gives such cold answers that no one has the courage to poke him much. My guess is that he used gender neutral pronouns but the translator chose "him". I doubt he'd talk about another guy in such a public situation.
