I did not understand Chase's torture back then, but I get it now. The dripping water is supposed to keep him awake and possibly drive him insane. Whereas the paintbrush . . . it's yellow-belly. Jack's calling him a coward.
That's the best thing about those good guys that turn evil. There's always still some left in there. It could have been one of the greatest parts of the series. Hannibal Bean could have been the big bad guy at the end and in the 2-3 episode series finale, he could have changed back to good and all would be settled. Such a shame we didn't get more seasons.
Maybe some part of Chase doesn’t want evil to win. Maybe for him, ruling the world wasn’t what he was ever after when he turned evil. Maybe all he truly ever wanted were the battles that would follow afterward. Think about it. You’re one of the strongest warriors on earth and the only opponents you have are rock creatures and talking beans. The only real opponents are the comrades you fought with. The good guys. Even if you fought them they wouldn’t take it seriously. Chase never wanted to evil to win. He himself only ever wanted to win. In intense battle after battle. But even having that mindset, he’s still cheering for the good guys. Thus that smile at the end.
Well, that and he's one of the few and far-between to attack Full-Powered Wuya, who simply destroys Hannibal and him combined. Grandmaster Dachi implicitly traded his immortality just to seal her. It's a lonely life at the top, and Omi seemed like potential son-material in terms of his position. It gets lonely and all you really talk to is that "housekeeper" you p!mped out, a teenager, and a sentient bean. Someone that closely resembles your "rival" is a perfect companion to help you "rule", when in reality you know you're a winner but you're just so lonely in your success, you want a foil, a Watson to your Sherlock, a Vegeta to your Goku, a Meatwad to your Frylock, etc. TLDR: he sensed how good Omi was to his genuine nature. He can feel the real him without any effort. Doesn't matter what side he bows to, what matters is he feels Chase in a spiritual level.
He not bad. Just because he is lured by hannibal bean. Just like Omni feel when Raimundo become the leader. Chase cannot accept that thing so he just drink the soup. And for long time he just become thirst for more power and more evil
Even though jack is clumsy and a goofball, he is still a genius. What he was lacking was ruthlessness. I think the fact that he conquered the world due to Omi being absent means that they had their moments together(in some chapters), which means Omi was keeping him in check. With omi out of the picture (and with the other villains mocking him), at some point in time, he probably grew older and meaner and crueler. I mean, you saw how he practically ordered their execution right there. We know he can't beat chase in a fair fight, but if you are smart (which he is), you can find ways around it.
It's especially noticeable in the Jackbots. Before, Jack would add in weapons to his machines that would humiliate rather than hurt (the chicken bots) or features that had no practical purpose other than comedy (again, the chicken bots recorded to cluck). As his frustration crescendoed, he built his Jackbots to kill.
@@roland228 True, also, the other villains have some sort of minions, summoned like Wuya, or enslaved warrios like Chase, but Jack makes his own. The first time he actually applied he made the chameleon bot, and in this future be basically created sentinels.
@roland228 Friendly reminder. When Jack faces the Monks, he orders his robots to attack. When Wuya's golem attacked Jack, her ordered the Jack Bots to Anialate-ify. There was a huge difference there. One was rush at them or shoot lasers, the others was a barrage of lasers and a battling gun until nothing remained.
If the series hadn't been canceled, I feel like we would have gotten Chase turning good again eventually. Xiaolin Showdown didn't have a proper conclusion. There are still plotlines that hadn't been resolved yet. I don't really count Chronicles since that's more of a soft reboot, not a direct sequel I feel.
@@retrowavefanatic4671 I agree with that. Hannibal Bean's plotline was very rushed and had the series had more seasons, we'd see him as the big baddie he was. Jack apparently becoming a Xiaolin Dragon, some arcs for Kimiko and Clay, etc.
My favorite character honestly. Yes he is on the hailyn side but there are times where he helps the monks especially omi out. He is a teacher/father like toward omi and the only villan that I have respect for
@@picassojulien899 He was fine but even when he is introduced he’s just a jerk not especially cruel or cunning. He doesn’t even come up with his own evil plan, he’s just not as active as I typically prefer my villains.
@@triforceofcourage100 that is why Ozai is perfect as he was. Ozai is the result of Sozin's ideology in place , he didn't had to made the conquest from the ground up like Sozin did , he inherented. And with Sozin's conquest , it needed an enemy to justify it's very existance , so Ozai performed that in escalating manner.
Ozai was supposed to represent national supremacism. Chase, while a pure narcissist does have honor but how could Ozai whose father and grandfather were dishonorable or at least corrupted to be so be like him?
you know at 3:16 chase is tortured with chinese water drop,a form of torture that turn the person crazy by dripping cold water on the person head, the said person can't sleep and after a while that drop is feeling like a rock to the head
Not gonna lie: even though I understand Chase’s torture (the water drop and the yellow belly)….I feel like we were learning a little too much about Jack there…👀
If they ever make another sequel or reboot of xiaolin showdown, they gotta bring back chase and Jack's voice actors the carried this show now don't get me wrong the xiaolin warriors were good too but chase and jack made this show iconic
Man, it was cool seeing Chase fighting Hannibal Bean. They're like two Titans going at it for supremacy. Wish could've been the one to finish him off for good in the end.
Idk why but chase was so cool. Not as striking a design as Wuya, but his story was great. He was basically the evil counter to Omi, the high potential mink that could become a hero but chose to bring death to the world😊😊
Kinda going off an earlier comment I saw but I think Chase is the only major big bad that never turns into a joke. Yes there's Hannibal Bean but I never took him seriously. Maybe it's cause Tom Kenny's voice for him is just "Evil Southerner", which is hilarious to hear.
@@respectfullyrazerian2154 i guess both young chase and guan took their rivalry too seriously which appearantly leads to fate saying 1 has to be evil since it wouldnt be possible for bean to convince dashi since dashi doesnt have perfectionst persona and didnt participate in any particular rivalry
Ya'll are shipping an immortal with a child. You do realise that Chase will end up in jail for that, just like Bill cipher when Ya'll shipped him with the pines twin's
With her full power she is Chase's equal. She can transform people and objects without having to bargain. Plus she can actually fight. Jack's robots are basically putty in her hands. Chase can beat her hand to hand. MAYBE
They never hinted giving him a new taste of soup while using the reverse mirror so the soup turns him back to good, if that worked for the witch maybe for him too
This is why I love this show. The ending shows exactly why Chase was so fond of Omi to begin with. He saw that same drive to be number one just as he once did. And wanted to push him past those same limits. Become another Chase Young. But after witnessing what happened in the future and to Chase, Omi realized that are more important things in life than being the best. Which is why he bows to Raimundo at the end.
3:17 honestly I know that this future was this dark for a reason but what I really want to know is how did Jack Spicer manage to not only defeat all xiaolin monks but Wuya, Hannibal Roy Bean and Chase Young all on his own even if he did create the best bots he could, also on a side note why is Chase having his torso painted yellow? I don't really see a reason
In that episode we not only saw that Jack robots were way stronger but they also had the capacity to rebuilt themselves after being destroyed, the jackbots since the first season were already strong since they could destroy Wuya's golems but the downside they had is they were fragile (and he saw how he tried to give them protective bubbles one episode before the last one so he already knew what to do). Now imagine fighting against an army of those robots that aren't not only stronger but also imposible to defeat, that plus Jack having almost all the wus in his power made him invencible
Something I never truly understood about the series finale and about Master Monk Guan was how they we're still alive after 1,500 years. I mean Chase's potion kept him young forever so that I understood, but how was Master Guan still alive after 1,500 years when he was at Wuya's defeat? And in the new timeline in the finale, how is it that Chase is still so young despite not drinking the potion in that version of history? It makes no sense.
I think its mocking him because he's being painted yellow. And yellow bellies our known to be called cowards. I guess Chase surrendered peacefully, or he lost in a showdown. Then again, Jack must have thought of Chase as a coward because he didn't attacks the monks the first time. And this is why he's being painted yellow.
@@androsram641 I knew about a torture method with goats licking your feet, cutting them in the process, and I also remember one where you get locked in coffin-like box filled with water, crap, and other stuff, but this is the first time I’ve heard about this torture method
The smile at the end always made me wonder if when making the second soup for master monk guan did Hannibal change the recipe or was chase just always more good than master monk guan? Also what decides the shape they transform into?
I mean people use actual crutches when theyre injured and need the help something being a crutch doesnt mean theyre useless, it means dont use them when you dont need them
@@BRG1807 well done long enough can cause scratches but i was talking more about the water dropping on his head Idk how the body of an Immortal works but for average humans water dripping was a form of torture back jn the day It dripped on the same spot ovet and over until it makes a hole in the flesh and eventually the skull Even if it doesnt get there at somr point hurts pretty bad
@@user-pi3hd2bt3f well this guy is an immortal master woth awesome hair I think what a previous commenter said about how a yellow stomach is like cowardice or something is more accurate
Chase young skillfull martial artist and master of tactics and good observation on he's enemies skill and abilities wait a moment to strike and he never disgrace he's own warrior pride
My response to Hannibal Roy Bean’s offer as Chase Young would’ve been something like this “n bring myself to bow lower b4 lesser beings like u 2, I think not”
0:14 GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD GET OUT OF MY HEAD
It's a fascinating thought, but do you notice that Chase never actually sided with Hannibal even after drinking the soup? And Monk Guan doesn't look 100% human after taking the soup and did side with Hannibal? I think that means Chase has a stronger will or stronger good side than Guan.
