Great video, man. The 14 series is just out and so far exclusive to China so it's hard to find reviews so far, but this one really showed the potential in camera. Wish I could see more Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 (non-pro) comparison videos, cuz I need to make my choice in a few days! :P

Currently on a S22 Ultra so gotta give Samsung the benefit of waiting to see the 24 Ultra as well. I really hope OnePlus brings back 4k120 video recording like they had on the 9 Pro. Great Video and thank you for this!! Allthough as pro photographer for more than 20 years I am always surprised how misunderstood coloring, tinting and exposure are used at wrong places. At this case Xiaomi 14 pro is much more for professional users, letting you decide what you want to exposure or set focus on whily iPhone seems not to be as professional or adjustable when it comes to light, shadows and colors. If iPhone was much cheaper then it would be fairly okay. I wish reviewer would take some more Graphic and Photography Course before confusing people that want to decide what they should get for better use. but I understand that you just give at shots on hardware that is not available here right now and just doing your thing to get some money, and you are doing a great job!! love your videos!! 🤩

Chinese smartphone companies are really giving consumers a lot of value for the money they pay, and offering many new and innovative features. If it weren't for the competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Huawei, Apple products wouldn't be half as good as they are now. It's blatant racism to just talk down on brands and products from China. Thanks, Ben, for speaking up for Chinese tech and expose racism and colonial mentality.

As a European Im curious about the upcoming 200mp zoom lenses. And it looks like, like vivo is bringing a serious camera king with the x100 Pro. I would love a 10x zoom. Hopefully Oppo is giving OnePlus good cams this time.

Love to see more comparisons with P8 Pro. PS. loved that rant, it is so true on so many levels. In general, it is just crowd mentality, and it is not just because its Apple (its everything mainstream), if suddenly other brand would become more popular, everyone would be jumping ship to that brand and leaving Apple, it is the "sheep" way chasing the label and mainstream. With that said, Xiaomi is on a rise ever since Mi 10 Ultra, absolutely loved Mi 11 Ultra camera, and now Xiaomi really going out all in with the hardware and innovation, even software is becoming really good and honestly Xiaomi with Leica actually doing great things together, same as Vivo with Zeiss and even Lumia phones with Zeiss in the past.

This Xiaomi 14 Pro cameras are really looking promising... The mic audio was definitely the best, The 4k selfie video on point... I prefer the Xiaomi colours cause the over saturated dark colours from 15 Pro Max looks over processed... All in all 2 excellent camera phones....

Is it possible for you to test Xiaomi 14 Pro with Gcam app? A lot of issues that you mentioned such as slight motion blur and overexposed images can ve fixed with that. Im still using Redmi K20 and the difference between stock cam and gcam images is huge.

Hi Ben, again a great video and props for being unbiased and giving credit where credit is due. I saw that the twitter gut is Dutch and makes me feel embarrassed that he's only praising iPhones just because he makes camera apps for IOS eventhough iphone 15 pro max is provided with awesome camera's it's still noteworthy that a lot of high end smartphones with great camera systems. Seriously those people who use only apple products are delusional. Thinking apple is the only high quality product. They have not seen what Vivo, Xiaomi and Oppo been doing so far. The best Cameras you can get right now are on chinese phones like Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei and Honor. So many people are really out of date and not keeping up with the smartphone market. Ben I would say that both cameras are fantastic but when you look at the difference in price then the Xiaomi becomes more attractive. I don't really care about iMessage and stuff like that so I see why people would buy the iPhone. But I really like how the 14 Pro is able to create dramatic looking photos and footage and keep them looking a bit more natural. That's why I lean towards it personally

I think the only problem lies in Xiaomi is that highlights are blown away and contrast is missing sometimes.

Xiaomi is just bright most of the time... I think the light control or iso is still not perfected yet as it just launched... But it has really capable cameras.... Love to see 4k in the front that too takes better videos than 15PM.

Hi Ben, can help to check on an interesting phenomenon presented by C4E tech. Seems that even though the mi 14 pro has F1.42 it usually default (even in good lighting) to F2 when shooting in automatic mode (ie default mode) Whereas the mi 14 (non pro) that has the F1.6 will shoot at F1.6 in automatic mode giving it a better bokeh than the F2.0 default of the 14 pro

In 2023, I said all flagship phones are close enough to please even the harshest judge. There are pros and cons for each, and although I would say that the iPhone 15PM is the best compared to my time with the S23U and Pixel 8 Pro, I would not say the difference is enough to push you away from your natural brand choice. Nowadays, it comes down to software, ecosystem and OS, as smartphones are now mature, and the differences are nominal or based on niche features (eg. s-pen).

Really impressive that xiaomi (or any android phone in general) camera can deliver images goes so close to an top of the line iphone, especially considering the price (not in usa or uk, but in other countries). Probably one of the best years to be an android user (in the last years at least)

I will wait for samsung s24 ultra to come out and see what would be a better buy.. my note 20 ultra is broken now, so I'm exploring what is a great buy at this moment, but I find myself really "choosy" I find meizu20/iphone14 (not 15) to my taste because of sharp edges and square look, but I like the camera setup from samsung, and I'm also fan of android, so.. currently I guess s23 ultra is a best buy, but I should wait a little I guess, I heard s24 will look more like an iphone

Ok here is the other thing. The ProRaw 48MP is a thing. It almost takes 60MB to I have seen 90MB linear Raw DNG that holds up tons of details. I know it’s a made up raw file but still better than anything else. But as you have pointed out that with the Bokeh there is a 3D realistic photo effect, yes that’s Sony. And it’s sensors. If you do look at the Xperia 1iv/v you will see it can make flat photo to a 3D photo by having a photographic Bokeh while iPhone focus on sharpest cleanest brightest details and make the photo flat. I have also noticed the focusing issue of iPhone on low light.

I agree with the rant completely. I really don't like how there's this stupid misconception in European and American minds that anything from the west is top tier and anything eastern is cheap. And as for "copying", humans are inspiration based. We do not come up with our own ideas that are strictly from our own mind but rather we are able to see other things/ideas and improve them or take inspiration to create something "unheard of". Objectively if you took Chinese smartphone hardware and put iMessage and FaceTime on it + iOS there's no way iPhones would last a single minute.

In my case I use any brand, I have had LG g7, Xiaomi, Samsung flips, motorola etc. And the problem that continues comparing Android operating systems with iPhone That is why today companies are losing themselves due to this type of negativity when trying to use a new smartphone.....

Salute to iPhone 15 Pro Mx. I'm just glad Xiaomi is upping their game closer to the masters of the industry. If you've fully utilized the Xiaomi brands to their fullest capacity you'll know the wonders of MIUI OS. The IR BLASTER and extraordinary multiview window does wonders for me. I like your love for all brands just like me, tech intrigues me so much i wish even HTC could get back to the game. They really had a thing going on. Big ups to Moto, Vivo, 1Plus, Oppo and salute to Pixel Pro 8, S23 Ultra, Huawei and iPhone 15 Pro Max. I still think the S23 Ultra is the King of Phones due to its incomparable Dex technology and Stylus Pen yet delivering an indelibly great product.
