Hi all,
This is my Xiaomi Amazfit GTR GPS fix review video, to warn you about the watch GPS - see internet forums and RU-vid videos, where more users have the same issue, but there is no fix from Xiaomi :(
Means: do not buy this watch, if you want to use GPS.

Got my GTR in the mid November and had exactly the same issue. Moreover since then the watch was already twice sent on warranty as it was unexpectedly switching off itself unable to turn it back on. Strongly recommend to reconsider purchase of this watch and go with something more reliable.

Tha GTR1 and 2 are nice but GPS is not working properly no Metter what

I'm using AMAZFIT STRATOS-2 for two years and never had any GPS problem.. I was thinking of upgrading to this one but I've changed my mind.. thanks for the warning ✌️😎

If Stratos 2 works for you and are happy with them, no reason to change. Now I have Xiaomi Watch (basically more expensive GTR) and works well... Just the system is different comparing Stratos and personally liked Stratos more for sport features and type of display.

TOTALLY AGREE.. Purchased it as a running watch and it is useless. I have given up on getting a run recorded. I had the Stratos before this and it was awesome in comparison

Have sold my GTR watch and bought Stratos 3 - works like a charm comparing GTR with GPS fix in 5-10 seconds

same problem with my gtr..if u need use the gps,u should put it on the flat surface..not on your hand..after you put on flat surface around 1 minute..it will detect gps .!

Was choosing between GTR 47mm and Verge, sticked to Verge for its functionality, and you know what? I have the exact same issue with GPS. Previously I had Amazfit Bip and didn't have a single trouble about that, so I am very disappointed.

Odd! why didnt the GTR team learn from the Stratus team how to get GPS to work properly?

In GTR 2e the GPS connects no problem but keeps disconnecting during the outdoor running, so that the resulting graph contains a lot of zigzags and the measured distance is 25% larger than the real one

I cancelled my order because if this. Not going to risk it. The pace was pretty decent with gps. ill probably get that again or a fossil. Also, maybe putting piece of card or metal under the watch at the start of a run would work?

As I know, only the bigger GTR are having this problem. After GTR I bought Amazfit Stratos 3 And they work great!

Any update ? Found a way to fix the GPS ? My girlfriend has a Garmin , I feel stupid each time we go running , I have to remove the watch , putt it on the floor...

I did sold my GTR so no update ... Not sure if Xiaomi did solved this 😟

I have the same annoying problem. The GPS in the Amazfit GTR is suck. I have a Samsung Watch, 2 Huawei Watch GT and Oppo Watch. They are all faster to get a fix on the GPS.

Hi! Please, can you tell me a bit more please? I was deciding between Huawei Watch GT and Amazfit GTR. Now i know that I don't want Amazfit GTR, but how good is Huawei Watch GT considering GPS? The main purpouse why I want a fitness watch is running and measuring distance with GPS. Is Huawei Watch GT's GPS accurate? And what about it's HR sensor?

No idea, as mentioned, has sold the watch. Honestly, do not believe ...

There is a fix, but you have to open it and lift the GPS antenna up a little (less than a 1mm) and they it picks up in 10 seconds.

Tried it many times before, even after firmware updates and did not helped... Obviously some users are happy since watch works and there are users unhappy having issues with GPS

I have my gtr 47mm, for me it worked perfertly, you don't have to wait for signal. I just press the go button then eventually the gps will work and even if it doesn't get a full signal, it can record exactly wherever you go. And I use this for everyday. Btw it also worked on strava.

Agree. First after purchase it was OK-ish, but after some time, GPS really sucks 😂😢😩

I have the same problem now, my GTR keep asking me to open my app to update AGPS to speed up positioning.. And my GTR watch keeps searching for GPS... 😱😱😱😭😭😭 mine still within 1 year warranty.
