We'll show you how to change the LCD screen as well as the battery of your Xiaomi Mi 6 by yourself. However, it must be made clear that we recommend this repair explicitly only for professionals. We suggest using a temperature around 70°C when heating the back cover. You have to be very patient because it will take some time to remove the back cover.
The screen is extremely strong glued to the display frame and can only be released with a lot of experience and patience. In addition, individual components such as the motherboard are very thin and fragile, so when disassembling the device there is an increased risk that something will be damaged. Please watch the instructions until the very end and then decide whether you believe the repair or not.

Just used this video as a guide while replacing Mi6 display last night. The instructions are generally clear, just in certain part a little vague. I give 8/10 for the voice instruction. The zoom is often too far that I need to replay several scene multiple times. Thumbs up for highlighting in some scene. 7/10 for camera works. Still, I’m very grateful for you making this video. It helped me a lot.

Successfully performed the replacement today. Would be nice if you mentioned the temperature/power necessary to remove the backplate. I ended up using roughly 200°C for 15-20 seconds and then pulling with a suction cup while sticking a piece of clear plastic along the edge at the same time, this was probably the hardest part for me as I broke two nails :)

Hello, thanks for your feedback. It is very helpful for us to hear which parts are most difficult for people who follow our instructions and where we should give more information. Regarding the temperature, it is not that easy to define a fixed temperature. Each back cover is glued individually and sometimes it is very easy to release it with a low temperature and another device is very hard to open. In general, we suggest working with a lower temperature of around 70°C and heat the cover a bit longer. It requires a bit more patience because it will take much longer than working with a higher temperature. But when working with a high temperature of around 200°C there is a high risk that the battery under the back cover is heating to a dangerous temperature. The liquid glue that we used in the video for fixing the screen and the back cover is unfortunately not taken from our own webshop (we didn't offer that). Why nobody says about the resolution of those "new displays". Its not 1920x1080 as the original Mi6 display, and nobody has the same display. So sorry you broke it,deal with it.

my battery got big and is pushing the screen out does that mean i should replace only battery or battery and screen screen works fine but battery pushed it so it has a gap

Hello, if screen is working fine you don't have to replace it. Just if it is bent (the frame of the screen) in consequence of the pressure from the battery you have to change the screen because otherwise you can't close the gap 100% and there is a high risk that dust and moisture get inside the smartphone. Hi thanks for the video it help me a lot on changing my screen, i have a problem with fingerprint sensor and home after the change, its not working, and it doesnt even show the option to configure fingerprint on the menu, i connected it as it was, any advice?

Hello Andres Roman, nice to hear that our video was helpful for you. The described issue with the fingerprint sensor and the home button could have several reasons. Have you tested the new screen before closing the device finally? It is difficult to give an advice without seeing the device and knowing the exact course of the repair. Can I replace my TouchScreen ONLY? Without removing the whole part (+LCD & Fingerprint sensor). My phone cracked but my LCD is working perfectly I don't think I need to replace everything just because my screen cracked. (by cracked I mean it's falling off piece by piece but only the glass not the LCD)

Hello, yes, it is possible to replace only the touchscreen. But is a much bigger effort and you should have advanced experiences in smartphone repair to handle this. Unfortunately, we can't help you with a tutorial for that because we do not offer a single touchscreen for Mi 6 in our shop. Good luck with the repair!
