Was a good time to go outdoors to doing QRP with new XIEGU X5105 transceiver and home made UltraLight Magnetic loop Antenna.

Thank you Barry :-) Was +2C but no wind, so was easy to be there. I was there for about 2 and half hours. I like so quiet enviroment as is on the hills or fields. 73 ;-)

OMOET mozno ak by si ju nevesal na strom ale dal by si ju na nejaky stativ, alebo drziak, tak by bola ucinnost este vysia a nedeformoval by sa vyzarovaci diagram.

Milan Pačmaga ano momentalne pracujem aj na tom. Zhanam nejaky lahky sklapatelny stativ a aj sposob ako k nemu primontovat tu PVC trubku. Jeden kdesi mam ale neviem kam som ho zapotrosil. :-P

I ordered it from a company on Amazon Germany. This way I don't have to pay any import taxes which I normally have to do when I order things from China. I'm looking forward to receiving it! Are you happy with the radio?

Cees (PA1CA) Yes i am very happy with this transceiver. It has internal auto tuner and antenna analyser. All bands+6m and all modes incl.digi. Today evening i will upload another video and this radio will be figured out too - ant.analyser.

Nice, I will for sure watch it! I will need to find out where to get a data cable, or how to make it myself because I do a lot of digi modes. Oh well, there will be a lot to play and learn with this radio I think! :-)

What case/cover are you using for the x5105? Would you recommend this QRP radio as a first radio for someone just entering the hobby? Great videos!

Jerry Mungo hello. I use old model of the FOMEI POINT camera bag. And this radio is running maximally 5W so i recommend use power amplifier if you want to use this TRX as the base radio. Is good radio i like it very very much because is very versatile due to internal 3.5Ah battery, noise reduction and perfect internal ATU (automatic tuner). But if i wanted buy base radio i should look for Yaesu FT-891. 😉 73

Jerry actually is Xiegu working on 120W version PA which will be originally designed for Xiegu and its size will be also comparable with X5105. In combination with this PA it will be very good solution for base usage as well. If you want to have more info just join us on Facebook to the Xiegu group. They have great support by one englishmen guru. He will answer on all questions. Find: Xiegu X108G & X5105 facebook group

5&7 when running 5 watts with a small mag loop is superb. Nico 500 watts...lol. Sorry Nico. Amateur radio is like fishing, sometimes you catch the big one and other times it gets away.

Este jedna otazocka. Mas tam nahodeny novsi fimware ktory vie zobrazit dekodovanu psk31 prevadzku? Ak ano tak bol s upgrade velky problem?

@ ano samozrejme, vzdy mam nainstalovany najnovsi FW ktory nam zasiela anglicky beta tester a zaroven admin v Xiegu Facebookovej skupine. A problem s tym nebol. Akurat asi mam ja problem s PC lebo mi pravidelne vyhadzuje spojenie na seriovom porte pocas upgradu X5105. Teraz co je posledny FW tak ide vsetko bez problemov. Postupne vychytavame chyby.

Neviem ci pouzivas nejaky original usb na rs232 dodany k trx alebo nejaky vlastny, ale ja ich mam niekolko a kazdy sa sprava inac :) Kazdy vyrobca ma vlastny standard co sa tyka urovni napatia, oneskorenia koli buffrovaniu atd. :)
