Great review. I have a 1999 carbureted model. Awesome reliable and fun bike. I sometimes wish it had a 6th gear on longer rides but then again that may mess up the standard torquey gear ratios that give it the XJR mojo.
I own a Kenny Roberts 1200r. The current tune has it putting out 120hp. It has a bikini fairing. Imported from Japan to Australia in 2022. Love these bikes.
I own a Kenny Roberts XJR12OOR in black and yellow livery. Its modified. Fj1100 cams custom headers, port job, extended intake manifold etc. Tuned to 120hp at the moment. I love these bikes! I have a walk around video of it if anyone is interested in having a look. Just press my name. Thanks for showing me your bike its gorgeous!
Nice!!....I have a 2006 xjr1300.....I bought "her" in August 2023....... I love HER!.... YOUR xjr1300, has a fantastic COLOR.... Un saluto dall'ITALIA and sorry my english 👋....I hope you understand
Hi! Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm using a 2005 RP06 model. Same decor in yellow pearl. Im very happy with this bike too. But i don't turn it in that rpm's! 5th gear at 40 km/h. It's like a buffalo! 😂 Ride save and have fun bro! Greets from Germany 🏍🇩🇪
I have a pretty mint GSX 1400 and cannot believe how similar these are, It's like they used the same frame/rear pegs/seat/tank/forks the lot lol Even the Engine looks pretty damn close! Makes you wonder how they got away with it. Your bike sounds awesome much better sounding the whiny GSX almost sounds like it has a turbo whine lol
I've serious problems with my xjr 1300 rp10 model. My carburators got clogged up after a long time of not riding the machine. Put some special cleaning for fuel system in it. It was only running on choke, so my gues wass the idle pilot was dirty. It didnt help, so i removed the carbs, and giving it a ultrasonic bath..Now the motor runs, and power is back, but omg my carbs are losing allot of fuel. The overflow is not working. Maybe one of the floats got stuck. I hitted them but change nothing. I just had to removed the fueltube from the tank because its keep leaking. Fuelcock works in "On" and "reserve" positions. I don't use "Pri".
Nice video, how do you get your exhaust to gurgle and pop at deceleration? I have an SC project slip-on on it, and it only does it in first and second gear when cold :(
I think it's because of the removed db-killer. I had an SC-projects exhaust on my former XJR and it had the gurgle and pops with the dB-killer not removed.
No the dB killer is inside the exhaust in the video. In the test of my fuel mixture it said it was running slightly rich on the higher revs, and it had more power then stock. I think one of the previous owners did a carb tune to this bike.
