Yeah, those were the days. Did 25 years of decent motorcycling, until I met this bride. No shifting beyond 3. gear went 50km/h up to 180 within a wink of an eye and arms grooowing longer, was my wedding night. Finally left me greyhaired onto a rocking chair. Oh, I miss my Babe, and the other one? Maybe😁

My mum has one, from new. A blue SP. Am used to my Z1000A2 and my dad's ZRX. As much as I like that ZREX, if you are not used to it anymore, you get shocked by the low rpm grunt in comparison to the Kawa - arms growing longer, holy moly!

Spot on review. Harsh and unpleasant on the motorway, but a dream on the A and B roads.

Still miss my 2000 bought new back in the day. Klaus Goerz airbox and ignition mod, Dyno jet and Devil Cup exhaust gave 130 hp on the rear wheel... 😀

love xjr,s had two and now buying another i always go for the xjr1200r faired model just a personal preference and comes with full ohlins shocks and lets me use a bit more mph in comfort.....old scool but love them!!!!

Have to agree with Paul. Mainstand and fuel gauge, two vital ingredients for any modern bike. Not yet ridden the FJR but used to have the FJ1200 with the same grunty motor.

I loved mine but it tended to eat front tyres if you threw it around a lot, and it bottomed out quite easily with just molded blobs on the pegs that wore away.

Sweet looking bike, maybe a little on the thirsty side, but no more than others, even with FI, when it come to bikes in this size class. They get around 35 to 38 mpg, depending on how you ride, that almost goes without saying, and it does by many. lol

I think a bike like this, along with the Suzuki GSX 1400 would be great to holiday on around the UK and into Europe. Should be better on fuel mpg too once on long cruises. As good as this bike is, I'm leaning towards the GSX just now as my next bike.

Had my xjr 1300 for almost 3 years now been a wonderful bike on short and long trips never had a days trouble with it I've just bought a second low mileage 1 I'd recommend anyone buy a xjr

i just found a 2001 model with 29 k miles on it .. looks mint .. so tempted :D
