This was great at the start.. but now it has been improved by allowing setting up multiple submodels, allows for defining faces and measurement checking (for need to splice) it is a fantastic tool. Whilst Xlights is a great for doing the sequences, this provides an easier way (in my opinion) for putting together any custom models. I have actually taken a picture of my installation and plotted the models using this tool. I can then include multiple submodels that import directly to Xlights. Thank you David for all you hard work putting this together and providing it to the community.

This is very helpful. I made a custom prop .dxf. I Tried to lay it out in xlights prop editor. Looked choppy. With this my layout came out perfect. I never would have figured out the spacing in xlights prop editor/nodelayout. Thank you. I now have the same prop in xlights as I do vixen. Awesome

Thank you for making this. I am from Holland and we are going to make a start, to make our house with lots of christmas lights, that can move on the music. There are already some people who have this in Holland, but not in our town. Ofcourse we will become bigger in the future, but everybody has to start somewhere. Me and my hubby are going to start with a star and 3 singing christmas trees and next year we want to make a big christmastree from about 9 feet high. But first I want to look how these things will work out, but with your program, I can now make a custom design for in XLights (it is a very small first step).

Thank you so much for this tool! I used it last night to model out the 7 foot, 200 pixel candy canes from Boscoyo. The tool is so easy to use and made the model perfect. The picture I took of the model was a little off but I used the "align to" tool to make the model perfect vertical and horizontal.

Absolutely brilliant David. Used it for the first time today and after a few fails with the renumbering process and scaling I got a model done beautifully. It may be a peculiarity with Firefox but I was getting the xmodel saved as a .htm format and had to rename to .xmodel.

Yeah - I should have mentioned, this should only be used with Chrome at present. Haven't done any cross-browser compatibility tests - will improve in the future! Thanks for the feedback.

Thankyou for the awesome proggy. I had a further idea that I will hit you up with after Christmas is done and dusted.

I can't wait to try this. I have been sticking with Vixen because I couldn't figure out a good way to add custom props in xLights. If this works for me, I might have to make the switch. Thanks!!!

My problem is aligning the nodes to the grid. When I click "REFINE GRID" the node are not movable. When I click "ADD NODES" the grid disappears. What is the purpose of the grid if you cannot use it to align the nodes?

How do I export? Video shows a tab that doesn't exist.. so I tried the export .xmodel and I get a blank web page.. Other than I can't get the file out.. it seems a cool way to make custom models.. HELP!

Please, can you activate the subtitles of the video to be able to translate them into Spanish? It would be a great help, I don't speak English. This one is particularly interesting to me, but the subtitles are turned off. Thanks in advance from Spain.

What if you are not using a continuous string of RGB nodes, and instead are using multiple separate strands? When importing into Xlights, how does the program know the actual order of each node that you have mapped out? To clarify, I would have thought you would actually have to map each node in the exact order that they were wired on each feature, rather than what appears to be (clicking to highlight each node, but in more of a random order)?
