I'm an American and I had this game for the Saturn. It was honestly one of my favorite games at the time. I still love 2d fighting games. They are perhaps my favorite genre of all time.

@@matt8264 In certain areas the Saturn was more powerful. PSX had much faster 3D but the Saturn had a lot more memory available and was much faster at throwing sprites around.

My dad got a new job and gave the kids a $100 bill. I almost bought Panzer Dragoon Saga but instead got the ram cart and XvSF. Played it for years on end and still holds a special place. Zangief, Cammy, AND Juggy! Fast forward to first girlfriend and it was my go-to game everytime I became a man. 😅 #NoRagrets

I came to Canada in 1995. In 1996 when I seen Xmen vs Street Fighter in locan pizza shop I was blown away as a 10 year old kid. Still one of my favorite verses series fighting game and now I can play it on my PSP, PsVita and Steam Deck.

I loved all these Capcom Marvel comics collaborations - Xmen Children Of The Atom and Marvel Super Heroes were my two favourite games and I bought a Saturn just to enjoy both games.

I just found this game in my “treasure chest” i keep in my back closet. My wife was asking for more space so i was digging thru it, found this, Cvs2, mvc2, war of the monsters, mk armgeddon, and x men v street fighter, and metal gear solid and ff7 (all discs)

When i first saw a cabinet of x men vs street fighter i was amazed by the graphics style and speed of the game and the super combos and air raves it was out of this world...and that ryu and cyclops handshake...

The thing is, with the SA-1 chip, the SNES can clock around 12 Mhz and can do all sorts of impressive things.

The biggest problem of this SNES port of Xmen vs Street Fighter is the overall choppiness of it. Not exactly gracious living through the SNES version then. At least they tried. Thank goodness for the existence of the Saturn port and MAME versions. Thanks for showing this "illeeeegal" piece of gaming history.

Saturn port was pretty much arcade perfect. That was the GOAT 2D machine. But you can use a MAME emulator since the files would be much smaller. I love 90s gaming topics.

X-Men vs SF is amazing. But learning the limitations consoles like the PlayStation had as an obstacle. At least the Saturn was capable to play the game on. Never owned an original PlayStation or Saturn, but heard lots of stories. + & - To port to the SNES. Uh.. that is surprising. It is wild whomever ported this to the system was creative, and literally made it work on a past gen console. Sure its not official, but playable. Kind of head scratching with limits now. Just mind boggling what people are capable of making

i just tried playing it on SNES and it's really janky. Plys the Armor 3 display adaptor i have for the cables is horrible. Anybody have recommendations for a better one? P.S. i hear the version for Sega Saturn was very close to the arcade version.

This game is so bad to play and all those crossover games are pretty much the same, but just changing up a few characters in the roster. It's so sad to see the great sprites that were created for Street fighter alpha 2 being demeaned to play on this crap ,the worst is that- being fighting games one of the most complex to program - there never will exist a good conversion of these games or someone who can edit it to something more dignified. Surely we can always play the good versions , but I imagine it would be a nice challenge for a crazy programmer to see how good you can get an X-Men versus Street fighter on the SNES having the example of the epic feat that was the proper Street fighter alpha 2 from Capcom.

The PSOne version was severely nerfed I recall, so bad that I refused to even bother with it. Looked like ass, played like ass, and what the hell is this SNES bootleg? Wow, mind-boggling that they gave it an effort but yeah, this also fell quite far short.

The PSX version is the only one that's affordable, who cares if a couple things were left out it still slaps Edit: show us your physical bootlegs 👀🐢🐢 This version doesnt make sense, they could've romhacked alpha 2 for the SNES instead of doing a Frankenstein 🧐

When they released they cost the same. Who buys old games at silly prices unless you are a rich obsessed collector who wasn't alive back then. It cost £50 for the Saturn vetsion at my local import shop back then.

The PS1 was a joke it ruined X-men Vs street fighter so bad I had to buy the Japanese Sega Saturn version had to deal with Japanese words that I can’t read for years I hated the PS1 a lot instead of capcom adding X-men Vs street fighter on Nintendo 64 they put it on the weakest console Nintendo was once more powerful then PlayStation that’s when I was playing on Nintendo more then PlayStation Sony did a bad job on their first console they shouldn’t of released the PS1 like this they should of waited until 2001 like Microsoft and released the PS1 that time so no mistakes would happen that’s why Microsoft has no weaknesses in any of their consoles
