I bought three pairs of those glasses back in 2019 when this review was first uploaded are they are great when they work. Unfortunately one pair now wont charge so it looks like a new battery is required and there is no way to replace it, so pretty disappointing that they have a limited life.
Hey RAF , it’s funny that I have these exact same glasses with my 295 ES as well. They are very good glasses but be careful that they smudge very easily so I had to buy a cleaner on Amazon and pretty much have to wipe them down on a regular basis especially if I have little kids watching movies with my daughters in the theater they tend to put their fingerprints on them. Transformers age of extinction is an absolute masterpiece in 3-D plus it also has Dolby Atmos. Although, a lot of the other 3-D movies that I’ve watched have a lot of ghosting in it which I think is due to the poor quality of the 3-D transfer and not necessarily anything wrong with the projector. I was on a huge 3-D kick when I first got the 295 but after watching the same movie in 3-D and then 4K I pretty much prefer 4K. But, it’s nice to have the option of either 3-D or 4K.
THE RAFCAVE actually, I just use the default cinema 1 if I remember correctly. The dimness doesn’t bother me as much as the ghosting. Although, I have to say that there is ghosting in commercial theater as well which is weird.
I just got 6 sets for my epson home cinema 2100 and they work great... QUESTION... my projector actually shows the battery level when you pair them... 1st 2 pairs I bought separately are going to 100%.... the other 4 pairs I'm seeing just at 75%... can YOU see a battery level on your sony at all? I'm hooking up my secondary purchased 4 back to the charger again now to see if they can be topped off to 100. Pretty sure I had em on a usb charger... albeit low voltage for 2-3 hours. Hoping that I just didn't let em go long enough. If they don't go past 75% I might have to contact amazon. (all 6 DO power up and work though... just a battery level issue possibly)
@@TheRafcave ok.. tks. I just got them off the charger... light went out after just 10 minutes... still just 75% on the 2nd set I got... (4) Guess I'll check with amazon to see if I can get some new ones... One of the main issues I heard with the factory ones that epson no longer makes is that the ones you get off ebay or other vendors usually show up dead and unable to charge since most of them are 3-5 years old. I imagine this is a similar scenario... older stock... but at 55 a pop I'm gonna make sure all of mine say 100% before I'm satisfied.
Hi RAF - your UK subscriber here - as a reminder, I've got the UK version of your projector, the VPL-VW270ES, and just got a pair of these glasses at the extortionate price of 60 UK pounds ($80) - I cannot get these same glasses to pair yes they are the RF not IR ones) - any thoughts?
@@TheRafcave - Hey, thanks for the quick reply - How long did you hold the on button down for? Although the instructions say for 1 second, I've tried that and also tried holding the on button down for about 20 seconds - no joy.
@@TheRafcave I think mine is IR as it goes off when I'm not looking into the TV. Thanks, I ordered the IR version of this. Follow-up question though, is it easy to replace the battery of this?
Can you make a 3D settings video for your Sony projector? I have the same one and can't figure out how to activate the 3D mode, even when I press the 3D button on the remote, it says not applicable or something like that.
THE RAFCAVE I did and it didn’t work. I was able to change the display from 2D to 3D once I changed the resolution to 1080p, but the disc still didn’t play. Also, when my screen was in 3D mode, I wore my 3D glasses and the screen wasn’t clear. Is that my glasses problem or a settings problem?
@@AlSumait Maybe something Is wrong with the glasses? To be honest I don't watch the 3D much. The picture Is darker and not as clear also. That's just the way 3D Is at home. 🙁
THE RAFCAVE sweet. I was going to do a 135” but I did 125 I am 12’ away. Was worried 135 would feel a little big at 12 but the 125 feels awesome! I have been thinking of doing the 3D stuff too sounds fun! I have the jvc nx5 4k projector so I may give these glasses a try
