Elijah hall, I apologize for not replying go your comment but I remember you asking do you think that you could put that into my radio too. I cannot give you the frequencys or put those channels into your radio because there repeaters are private and you would have to talk to the public safety agency that owns the repeaters. If you have any more questions let me know
you need to get a GMRS license and set the frequency to your preferred GMRS channel if you know how to program it. If you don't take it to a Motorola dealer. Also you will need to announce your callsign before and at the end of every transmission or every 15 min. (legally) : )
Just program each for simplex (same frequency) on both transmit (TX) and receive (RX). Make sure you're not using a channel that is already allocated. Check your local band plan. Use FRS/GMRS, or MURS channels depending on your frequency. Make sure your transmit power is within specification. Know what you're doing, if you do it wrong you could accidentally cause interference on an important channel for someone else.
Be sure you are following the channel power rules, and bandwidth, also channels 7-14 are FRS ONLY, do not transmit on those at all. Make sure you are doing the right thing!
No these radios use a sophisticated type of Motorola software cps 2.0 it has very few flaws in the software unlike the baofeng type software this is the best kind of radio you can get it is a public safety radio not very easy to get and its not cheap. If you have any questions or how to get one let me know
