Honestly kinda douchey considering he’s reacting to the video which hasn’t even been out for a week, so he’s already stealing views, and he won’t even watch an ad that is high quality and still good content for the stream
@@bengiladash3354 dude by watching the video he is attracting people to his channel what are you on about and his editor put in the ad so again what are you on about
The info is actually pretty correct 1:1 because of the black box on the ship. There was extensive recordings of every word that was said on the bridge by the captain and its crew. Also there has been thorough investigations into every action they logged. Internet Historian actually does a fair bit of research. I was skeptical, but I looked into it after the video and all of it is correct. The ONLY part that is dramatized, is after the black box shorts out. But Historian is up front with viewers about it, and says the rest is pieced together by news stories. So I think he is pretty fair about all that stuff. Of course there is going to be subjectivity/bias, because everyone has that when it comes to perception.
1.500 suites, lets say most were 2 beds and maybe 20% were 4 beds for families. A ticket for a cruise ona ship this size may very well be aroud 5000€. (it isa week-long luxury cruise after all) So, the ship costs 530million to build they have space for around 3300 people each payng around 5000 Means a single trip nets 16.5 million and that is not counting any spending of the passagers in the mall, casino or anything. I have no clue how much they spend per trip on various expenses and salaries but lets say 5 million. So each trip nets 11.5 million. Means the ship is paid off after just 5 trips which could easily be done in less than 2 years (one trip per season).
Not gonna lie, this video was an absolute roller coaster and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you Internet Historian and thank you to Captian Pepega for reacting to this gem.
“The black box broke.” I - WHA - HOW?! ISN’T THE POINT OF THE BLACK BOX TO BE ALMOST HERMETICALLY SEALED AND SECURE?! How the FUCK did that happen?! XD
Incompetence is not binded to anything, unfortunately we can find it everywhere in the world, as we say here “tutto il mondo è paese” and “la madre dei coglioni è sempre incinta”.
@Ashton Gillett and I didn't know about Internet historian before xQc is giving the guy a great exposure people will pay thousands for adv to there YT channel
Dropping the anchor at 16 knots not to mention the sheer mass combined with such momentum would have likely ripped off the entire anchor apparatus from the ship itself! One also has to factor in the length of the chain on the anchor too. If the anchor chain is quite long and the waters it is dropped in is too shallow and they are still too close to the hazard then the chain may be too long to stop it!
I work in safety and often complacency is the worst enemy. Usually to have an accident multiple things have to go wrong, but the problem is when people aren’t caring or going by procedure cuz they think it’s just one small thing. Also panic and bypassed effect often makes people think that someone else of authority will take care of the issue, which is okay sometimes, but when the authority is fucking up not so good. Seowol ferry is a good example.
The positive cocaine test in the hair is pretty much the only irrelevant point I can see in the entire incident. If you just sit on an airplane from a country that has high drug use you will show positive if you get swabbed (clothes, shoes, hair.. depends). The machines they use are insanely sensitive. And cruise ships are 100x worse than an airplane, with all of the stops and confined areas for a week I bet more than half the people would have tested positive for cocaine. Since there was none in his system it pretty much confirms it. As it was only day 2 of the voyage it would have shown up if he used it.
If it was constantly around him, it would have shown up on his hair more consistently as his hair continued to grow. But the fact that it showed up small amounts more than likely means that he's used it within the last 6 months to a year, lmfao. You're absolutely not going to test positive for drugs in your actual hair that have to be metabolized to even show up.
it's not inconsistent detail actually! testing hair for drugs is the more accurate and stable testing method (not blood, urine etc). hair grows and stays on you for a lot longer than urine. blood cells could die off and your body takes care of it it as it would. but any nutrient/mineral that your body turns to growing a hair follicle would somehow stay there and not go back to your body for excretion/or secrete every few hours. unless you decide to go bald it's reliable. imagine every other of your million hair follicles has traces of coke inside it. not just a swab of the hair surface/scalp! INSIDE the follicle. i swear it's not easy for human hair to just ABSORB things even when they're in a room exposed of some substance. hair salons would've had an easier time if that's the case.
Man I have spent the whole weekend watching every single video of the Internet Historian. Start from the first video on RU-vid and work your way up. He is big in the 4chan and Reddit Meme scene. Basically now understand half the shit I have seen over the years but had no idea what they mean
@@loissutherland8479 why what? The original post said this was crazy and would watch more of stuff like this...I was telling the OP I just discovered it and watched all the Internet Historians stuff because it's hilarious. So I guess to answer your question...because I wanted to because it's funny?

To answer Xqc's question the Cost of the ship was $570mil. The estimated earnings for that year when added up was $172.1mil. By that estimate if they made that much for the next 5 years it would already be breaking even and the rest of the cashflow would be profit and I would assume quickly also cover the costs for maintenance. Overall a good investment except for their stupid pick for a captain
As far as I know, black boxes are meant more to be as close to indestructible for the purpose of recovery. Issues can still pop up that stop it from work but it can still be retrieved and the data pulled
You asked whether they could reverse the engines, i will explain why not: the engines combined have 102,000 horsepower, and they were chugging at full speed, it would be almost impossible to make such a drastic slowdown at the speeds they were travelling at, it would have wrecked the engines
No, they could not just come to a full stop just like that: It takes (2-3?)MILES (my understanding) for ships this big to come to a full stop, and these idiots were traveling close to shore at high speeds, misunderstanding orders at a distance of 100s of meters when they realize they were THAT close to the rocks. Even if they had shutdown the engines and dropped anchor, the ship would still have been moving by its own momentum(?) before the energy of it died down.
Remember when it happend, It was shortly before the Winter Break in school and I was supposed to get on 7 day mediterranean cruise on this ship with my dad. If it would happen 2 weeks later I would be on this sinking ship.
I would guess they needed to sell out every cabin a bit more than 700 times to get the money back/making profit (if every ticket would cost 700€ at 1050 cabins) without any other income.
before they boarded the ship, they did tradition of the sailors in which they smash a bottle of wine into the ship's haul and its recorded u can check it urselves if u dont believe me, and the bottle didnt break despite its being smashed pretty hard and the botle itself is not durable. the tradition said if the bottle didnt break then the ship is cursed and wont last long.
While I personally don't watch xQc live all that often, gotta hand it to chat for having the best reactions in these videos while not spamming random shit.
9:40 if the ship is already at 16 knots if they drop anchor the ship will still swing as the inertia of a vessel that size is too great to magically just stop right there and then, simple physics (no offence)
I'm guessing if they'd dropped the anchor at the first bit, at the Speed and the Angle they were going, if it had stop the Ship it would've then put it into a Clockwise Spin. Which would've then still slammed into the Rocks, probably causing a Bigger Hole too. Just a random commenter though and know very little about ships.
Making a ship that size stop is similar to trying trying to make an asteroid stop from hitting us. We're gonna see it ahead of time, but there's nothing we can do about it. Difference is that with the ship you can alter your heading SLOWLY.
I just hope XQC will start to do something about the chat wars that happen every 3 minutes it ruins the chat so much, I don’t get why xenophobia is encouraged in his chat.
