You mean you joined the club? It's my hope that you've scored on a good one. They are all GREAT to begin with. But since it has been some years since they were made, many have had the time to be treated wrong. For instance, I bought my 1992 new from honda and it is still running today. It was carefully broke in and has been treated well. There's been no modifications. These bikes have a crap load of low end torque and that's where I ride at so it's perfect. It's my opinion that those who search to squeese more top end power are the ones who eventually suffer. That 1992 motor has never been dis assembled yet the bike starts first kick and runs great. Too, you can imeadiately feel that it's a good/tight machine by the time you hit 2nd gear on it. Best of luck with yours! The most simple, inexpensive, reliable, fun playbike you can get. 2many
Niki looks like my son's 2000 XR600R. They sure are great bikes and very fun to ride. I think mine will never leave home. Absolutely love these ol bikes
Great videos only just found them tonight and watched about 8 of the xr600 ones already look forward to watching some more tomorrow, I picked up m8 first xr600 a few weeks ago it's a 2000 model , I'm definitely gonna be changing my side panels from white to red looks much better all red
Billy, I got my side panels from ufo; www.ufoplasticusa.com/new/item.php?brand=Honda&model=XR600R&year=1996&description=Side%20Panels With your 2000 xr, welcome to the club! You wil see one of the 600's in some of my dirt videos is a 2000 my friend rides. Thanks for your comments!
@@billybartz3772 I did a quick ebay search and the 1st page did have a set for 53 bucks from italy. Another set was 89 bucks from some where else... At ufo they are $49.99 What ever you do, have fun riding! Red does look better in my mind too... A std side cover for a 2000 xr600r would be red just under the seat and red from the tank all the way to the other end of the side cover. With everything below the embossed horizontal line being white. (number plate area)
Yes found some in the uk £49 next day delivery, from mdracing I have used them before they are pretty good , I will get them ordered then I'm gonna get a nice seat cover, cheers m8
Ivica, thanks for chiming in on it. Every single time I get on that 95 600, I'm saying to myself... "this thing is bitchen". As well, I am hoping my latest project turns out the same way... Bitchen. Then, if so... My XR Fleet will be complete with 3 in a line all ready to go; 95 xr600r plated 2000#2 xr600r plated 89 nx650 But then, if a true off road occasion arises, I have the 92, 99, and 2000#3 off highway 600's to ride.
If you have a 1993 xr600r you have a tiger by the tail. Just did a trail ride yesterday and was loving it! Keep on riding Erik! Se hai una xr600r del 1993 hai una tigre per la coda. Ho appena fatto un giro in pista ieri e l'ho adorato! Continua a cavalcare Erik!
Wow very clean, Hi from northern France. One of my xr600 has some trouble starting, im turning crazy. only starts when hot otherwise its a 100 kicks i need to do
Hello. Thank you for chiming in. Check your stator for ohms resistance. Just a shot in the dark... But too, you can checkthe whole electrical through the CDI plug. Of course, your problem could be any number of things. With this bike and how many kicks it took to start it... It was that it didn't have enough gas in it to even pass through the reserve. DOH! Good luck, 2many
Baja designs. Get 'em while they last! Baja designs quit making motorcycle lighting kits. I guess there are some out there on the aftermarket. Go to, www.chapmoto.com/ punch in baja designs headlight, or look on ebay. Thanks for your comment and for watching! Good luck. 2many... PS, they come with white sticker unattached which suited me perfect.
gustavo said; Hua viejo I congratulate you very nice motorcycle the best cros that I know. And I say, Thank you for that. I think it's really nice and I've had nothing but fun riding it so far. Y yo digo, gracias por eso. Creo que es muy bonito y no me he divertido más que pilotarlo hasta ahora.
How do you plan to get past the DMV regulations about making an OHV street legal if it was not previously plated in another state? Thank you for your comment!
What's your view on the choke flap on the 600, I see a few post on them snapping on the 600s and damaging the motor , xr only do a 1 piece flap mod I'm wondering if it's worth doing
Billy, though I ran my 1992 with oem choke plate for 30 years or so with out trouble... It only takes the one episode to destroy your whole motor. All three of my XR's have a xrs only choke plate now. Better safe than sorry. The oem plate has a small hinged door on it that is spring loaded. Small parts that are bound to fail sooner or later. You could remove those parts from the oem, but then you don't have much choking going on due to the open window that is left. Get it, do it... My suggestion.
I removed the whole plate from my 600 after reading about them breaking, mine would always start first to third kick no matter how cold it was so i didn't have a use for it anyway.
After looking at several distributers and on ebay, I went straight to the horses mouth... EMGO - Speedometer - Niche Cycle Supplywww.nichecycle.com There, you have some choices. The ratio I purchased was 2.1 to 1... You gotta know which ratio you need for your bike. I have yet to make a test run where I check accuracy. Still, I believe I have the right ratio. The real downfall, especially in my case is that the range on the dial goes to 160mph. With a trail bike, I'll get over 40mph some times. The real thing I wanted was to have a trip meter AND total miles. I bought 58-43669A =$51.45. They come with a bracket I did not use. Yes they fit your stock 600 cable. They have a one bulb backlit dial that you can hook up if you want to. I like it. But later on I emailed them and asked if they had a speedo in more like 0-80mph range... they did not answer. But that's what I'd rather have. I'll never get up to 160mph!
Hey! thanks for that... It has a couple things going for it with the nickle and the red, but it is still mostly stock honda parts and nothing is high performance. It looks good!
Hello, thanks for checking nicky out! The battery is a trail tech battery pack which lays on the airbox in front of the intake. It can be seen very clearly in this video... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BgbC8oxmCbc.html Seen at the one minute 45 seconds mark... amongst other places in that video. That is the most common location you will find a battery for xr600r's that have been converted to street legal bikes.
www.nichecycle.com/ncs/categories/instrument/gauges/58-43669a-speedo-mini-2240-60-wht-face.html Emgo from niche cycle. 2.1 to 1 ratio for an xr with 21" wheel. Problem is that they go to 160 mph. I spend my time all below 50 on that bike so a speedometer that ranged from 0-80 would have been more appropriate.
That bike has two sets of wheels. And I built one of the front wheels with stainless spokes. Maybe that's the reason you are having so much glare in your vision after watching. Just kind of kidding Wd, thanks for your comments! 2many
... well, these are the best parts from a 2000, a 96 and a 95. Plus, I went through and fixed up everything before I bolted it on. A few new items thrown in. You too could do it... But spring will be here soon enough. After all this covid and lock-down, ect... I'm hoping for a great riding year. Thank you sandon for your comment!
Actually, it's my left knee I have trouble with! But then, there's that bone in my right foot... That is why I do not start my 600's with tennis shoes. Thank you for commenting. We're not done "fixing up nicky".
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think in runs better with the stock jets. I pulled out a set of 58 and 155's that I had been running on it. I ride from about 150' to 7,500' at the highest. Thanks for checking in!
@@2manyrides lean runs mean. I really cant find out what stock jets are. I've got 58 158 @ 3000ft in az. Its seems to be doing well on that. Sweet XR its beautiful.
Andrew... I think this means that the backing tracks behind my nicky videos are "stoney" or eclectic. But I could be wrong!? Regardless, thank you for your comment. And if I was right, then you are one of the rare commenters who speaks of the crazy non-commercial sounds going on in most all my videos.
Why than you Settouti for tossing out a comment. I'm waiting for the winter to end before that bike REALLY gets used. It's going to be my main dirtbike for the rough country. Though I have created a set of "road wheels", I will mostly truck the bike to the trails. Keep riding! 2many
